My idea is that whatever they said in Chinese meant that they were like "banchō" of their schools, I mean something like the toughest ones among the students. That's what the attitude of the girl with red-brown hair seems to suggest, that she wants to rule the first-years with strength and sees Yanxing as a rival.

A "queen bee" as we understand it in English is more like the leader of the hotties clique who uses gossip and popularity with boys as her weapons. That doesn't look like Yanxing's style, and even less the way the badass redhead behaves.

The original Chinese term in here is dajietou - which means something like "female gang boss." Obviously the first-years are not a gang; she just perceives herself to be their leader. "Queen bee," as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary, is simply "the chief or dominant woman in an organization or social group," and so I stand by that (admittedly more idiomatic) translation.

While the person occupying the position of a "queen bee" may be perceived to be using gossip and popularity as their tools, those qualities are not a prerequisite to be one. I could/should have put this in the translator's notes.

The manhua is set in 2012, and Shaq retired in 2011 and Kobe in 2016, and she's talking about how she watched them growing up. It seems weird reading it in 2021, but I guess this would have been pretty current at the time. (The phones in future episodes are a bit anachronistic though)

Re: the Eight Trigrams thing, I should have explained it or linked to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagua. It's really more for joking "flavor" here, as if you would introduce a new fictional or game character with their name, title/attribute, and power.

there is a strange white bar chopping off the top of the image below- it doesnt seem to be intentional funky layout either since it has no border but I might be wrong.?

Yeah, it's related to that overlap above. Couple of the images in panel 04 basically got moved while I was laying it out, and I've sent in an updated panel that should fix both things! My workflow for combining these images is also better now so this shouldn't happen again. Thanks for alerting me.

p.s Also in chapter 1 p4, the first pannels - the overlapping hospital scenes- both are strangely cropped like they were cut and pasted wrong- that might be deliberate but if it was i'd expect black lines between them like the example at the end of the chapter. Or is this maybe something to do with how its been stiched together?

Yeah sorry that's on me. I'll upload a fixed version for that strip when I upload the newer chapters. The other inconsistencies are in the original.

Translator here. Still going as far as I know, just that a new chapter by the authors hasn't been released yet. Month-long intervals between updates is normal for this series.

Chapter 8 just got posted today. Guess it might be posted faster than monthly. Will take me a few days to get to it, but rest assured it'll get translated.

Hmm... Should I correct the title and such to "Company President" when I upload it to Mangadex? Or just keep it as is? Honestly, it makes no difference to the content...

It's just how many have been released so far. They're released on Twitter every month (July's not out yet).

TY to people who chimed in with a better translation. I think I got thrown off by the 表現, since I'm used to its Chinese meaning of "(external) presentation/display/manifestation" and I didn't check further for the Japanese usage (for which we would usually use 表達 in Chinese). Careless mistake, native speakers can only coast for so long with hanzi vs. kanji... I submitted a fixed version with Calthesa's rendering, thank you!

And I just submitted the first chapter of this on a whim and really didn't expect it to be something people actually wanted to read. I'll try and finish up the chapters to the current (6) over the next few weeks.
