Anyways, all I'm trying to say is that by 17 part of your core personality is already formed, sure you change a quite a bit in your years in college (if you even go there) or get a job or whatever, till you're like 25 maybe? but I'd say no one goes through a radical change by that point unless some extraordinary circumstances happen, no matter what Adachi is still gonna be an introvert and Shima is gonna continue to like sleeping.

Sure they're both changing quite a bit in their own way now with Adachi finally having someone she loves/depends on for the first time in her life and just barely getting to know what it means to keep a relationship so maybe she will change the most, but her weirdo persona is not going away, Shima has stated several times that she wants to change and be a more ... Outgoing person I guess? And someone that can be kinder and more understanding, also finding a meaningful relationship herself as she has stated she's scared of being alone but with her it's more of a personal and conscious decision while Adachi is just developing her people skills for the first time, but I'd have to agree with Shima in that maybe it's too late already and there will not be a big magical change in her, they're both mostly gonna stay who they are now I'd guess.

As I said myself yeah I don't think Adachi's jealousy atm is anything overly serious since it's her first time bonding with someone and she doesn't know how to handle it and what the "limits" are I guess especially now that they're lovers, but i'd say she was pretty lucky to meet someone like Shima that's pretty cool with all that and atm is being very accommodating since she knows what Adachi has been through but I feel most people wouldn't be able to deal with that.

I'm 23 so 16-17 doesn't feel that long ago lol so just calling them kids feels weird I had already experienced quite a bit by that point myself but I get that everyone lives their own life and both characters here are very inexperienced, idk why that statement bothered me, sure they're gonna change but at that age they're mostly already their own persons they'll change but not that much, I do agree with everything else you said I did say the same myself, they're both just weird and in Adachis case very inexperienced about dealing with people and social boundaries, they both need confidence in themselves, their relationship and being able to strike a balance between their relationship and others, Adachi especially just needs more time with Shima it really feels like a kid finally getting the love they've been looking for and wanting to monopolize it for themselves but it's a grown teen doing it and again not everyone could take that, if that's not a sign of Shima's love idk what is.

Also I'm pretty sure the mom is not onto them.

As always a perfect chapter, finally some Shimamura POV and it really delivers, as has been said I really like how this is all about their internal struggles and how they're finding comfort in each other as friends before and now as lovers, Adachi finally finding a person that she can confide in and Shima someone that she can open up to, why each other? Well Shima has stated that it might be cuz they're both very weird while Adachi has just been a romantic and said "because it's Shimamura"

The ending of the chapter does show that Shimamura is putting a lot of thought into what turning from friends to lovers mean, I think she's just scared to hurt Adachi by not living up to her expectations of what exactly Adachi wants (and goddamn it a lot, a bit on the scary side tbh), maybe cuz she was also expecting a bug change in her emotions and it still hasn't come, like saying she's a bit jelly that just by her saying Sakura, Adachi goes ballistic, still she's really putting in that work into trying and be a girlfriend and I like that, I like that quite a lot, just try your best Shimamura things will fit into place by themselves if you're really into Adachi.

Adachi was particularly insane this chapter, we've always known it but that outburst about what cheating is to her ..... Yeah as has been said she needs a good talking to and more confidence in herself, but I don't think it's a super serious problem, remember Adachi has never had someone so maintaining a relationship in any capacity is a first for her, Shima saying she reminds her of how her little sister acted long ago is a sign for this along with the constant 'she doesn't have experience with this" stuff, she just needs to be more comfortable with herself and her bind with Shima it'll come.

Shimamura having a coughing fit when Adachi called her Shima most probably cuz she remembered Tarumi and she knew Adachi would lose it if she found out about it was funny.

I really wonder if we will get to see Shima's mom finding out they're dating, I really want to see that.

I'm really happy about all this updates but I'm sad at the same time the closer we get to volume 8 the close we get to no more chapters ..... Any news on volume 9?

I think volume 6 makes Shima loving Adachi believable, she finally opens up to creating a bond with someone thanks to all the realizations that hit her while thinking about her relationship with Gon.

Throughout the volume she's constantly thinking about Adachi and what her breakdown meant and what their relationship is and how she wants to continue growing it since Adachi is so fucking weird and understands her in a weird level that the moment they get back she can't wait to talk to her, also after Adachi's first extra romantic confession she never feels disgust, or apprehension or something, to me it looks like she's really excited that somebody can love her that much, and especially so if it's Adachi.

Then on the day of the festival and with Adachi stopping fucking around and finally getting shit done (kinda) she does hesitate for a little while since that's just the type of person she is but when she says "sure let's try it" to a romantic relationship ? And with another girl ? Shima's going all out, she has too that's the sort of person she is, I guess she never really thought anybody would love someone boring like her, and she never thought she could love someone so Adachi being all excited about loving her probably is a lot to her and she really loves her back.

Do you guys plan on re-reading the series as the j-novel club versions come out ? Bought volume 1 but since I just re-read this like 2 weeks ago imma have to give it some time so that I can get the full experience of Adachi being the most useless lesbian ever, I've had the most second hand embarrassment reading about her then anyone else probably, so you really gotta prepare for that.

And if I start I won't be able to stop till I read volume 6, volume 6 is just way to fucking good, it already gave me more satisfaction then most romance series endings, and what we've gotten of volume 7 with Shima saying I love you ? .... Damn maybe I will just read everything again.

It's funnier seeing her from Shimamuras POV, since Shima knows that shes always forcing herself and she likes watching her be all flustered so we get to see Shima coming up with silly things and getting to see how Adachi reacts lol.

And it's very damn interesting seeing Shima slowly losing her "everything is a pain" mentality cuz she's very interested in Adachi and getting to know her, the "wow this is very interesting" she throws out while following her says it all, remember in the first volume, welp more like the first like 3-4 she couldn't bother to do anything on her own initiative, hell even Shima asking Adachi to do something cuz she wants to observe her is telling that shes already feeling something for Adachi lol.

Damn I'm usually pretty calm but idk what it is about this series it just makes me lose my cool, Adachi and Shimamura just feel so real I can't help but grow excited along with the characters, I swear when I saw that first I love you I had to get up and walk around a bit to shake off my excitement, and in the second one and with Shimamura being all sweet I had to do it again lol finally this is what I wanted, thank you Sneik truly, they were just both so adorable, Adachi finally getting to hear Shima respond to her love and acting so fucking cute, and he'll is the readers as well finally getting to see Shimamura act like that, kyaaaaaaaa, is a I can say, can't wait for shima POV I really can't wait.

I like the what ifs guys I really do but it does kind of feels like a kick in the balls that just after such a cliffhanger last volume we start with that lol kind of drains the tension out of you .... I did really like that we start off right on the next day, Adachi not even believing it was true and having to call Shimamura, that was cute and sad at the same time you can just feel how much she believes the world is against her and that it's impossible for her to have such a happy outcome.

Yeah both what if are great but then it just leaves you wanting to also continue those stories lol they both seemed very interesting, 2 office ladies getting into a romance when they're kinda hating life and are just going from day to day without really anything happening slowly falling in love? Yes please, Shimamura on the attac ? YES please lol.

Is anyone following any other good romance Light Novels ? Doesn't have to be Yuri, I've just been reading Yuri manga but after this it's kind of not the same I want something with a little more meat like this, I've looked but I can't find other Yuri Light Novels out there, why God whyyyyyyy (well just those Sayaka spin offs and Strawberry something).

Just re-read the whole series and I must say when read back to back like that till this point volume 6 Shimamura really is something else, truly the most satisfying part about the volume is the change in her mentality towards Adachi in that while she's still thinking that what she'll have to go through to take her relationship with Adachi further is "bothersome" or "a real pain" she's still doing it.

e.g. it all starts with Shimamura herself calling Adachi, then her initiating a hug, getting a momma makeover along with a yukata all so cuz she knows it'll please Adachi (and then when she's told she's beautiful hitting her palm), taking her hand and then running after her.

For the first 5 volumes we've seen her have thoughts about wanting to get closer to Adachi but decide against it cuz it's too much work or it'd go against the flow like when she thinks Adachi might be waiting for her on the gyms second floor but decides against going cuz that'd make Sancho del Pancho? Notice her or something ? and she doesn't want to stand out, so she just stays in place even though we the readers clearly see that she wants to go after Adachi her "let's just see how things turn out" way of life is too ingrained in her and she's just kinda hoping Adachi makes the first move.

So yeah those moments in volume 6 feel extra powerful even if it was a re-read my heart still felt tight in a good way lol I was right there along with Adachi clenching my fist and being excited at seeing Shima be the one to start all those intimate moments.

Same with when she realizes that Adachi loves her and how the only thing she can think is how no matter what type of love it is all shes thinking of is that she likes it and is all excited about having Adachi tell her for real.

Also her being all excited and wanting Adachi to explain herself over the phone but her S side coming through and deciding to wait till theyre face to face so she can see her make interesting panic faces lol.

Overall I freaking love Shima and I can't wait to see her take the initiative more.

It kind of somehow seems to me that this thread is more full of Adachi lovers ? I'll admit seeing her is funny and heartwarming and you can't help but want to cheer her on, but Shima is way more of an interesting character to me, I do quite love both though.

Do you guys think Shimamura would have accepted Adachi's confession if she'd done it in volume 2 at Christmas or volume 3 in their valentine date?

I really, really want to see Shimamura put some real effort as a girlfriend lol like ways to close the distance with Adachi, thinking more about her and how to make her happy and the like, her general apathy towards most things really draws me toward her lol she's my favorite girl tbh and not just from the series overall she's one of my favorite characters now.

Such an interesting character to follow, someone slowly changing themselves consciously cuz they realize that their lack of interest in forming relationships might be a problem since they don't want to be alone, and finding a person that's pushing them to do it, wanting to help that person in small ways, while still maintaining her general dislike of what forming a strong relationship entails.

Truly a fascinating character, Adachis weirdness is funny to follow, and knowing how much trouble she has socializing cuz she's fucking weird and how she's had a hard time till now is also interesting but for me Shimamura really is the best.

I don't mind drama at all hell like you've all said a lot of the potential interesting upcoming plot points will have drama to a degree, like the friends/family finding out, Tarumi and what she's gonna do, other potential just asshole characters that appear just to be assholes (shimamuras monologue about having to endure other people maybe seeing them as not normal or something maybe points a bit to this?) And the like.

I just don't like pointless drama like the author backpedaling on a characters growth and making them idiots doubting their partner, or new characters introduced that get in the way and the like, you know pointless stuff to pad the story out or something, but that's just me being scared I guess I trust this author quite a lot at this point he's made 2 really believable, likable and super weird characters and the gradual slow development of the two is a joy to read about, but still you never know when some authors will be temped by the smell of cash and start padding shit out which just leads to disappointment in all fronts.

Not gonna lie, I was ready to groan when it looked like Adachi's confession in the bathtub went unheard, but then it thankfully turned out it didn't. And then to top it off, the second confession happens during fireworks, which in shitty romcoms is almost always a recipe for the confession to get drowned out by the sound of them. I wonder if the author did it on purpose.

I always dread knowing there's a festival coming in a romance series since 90% of the time you already know stupid shit is gonna happen, mostly failed confessions with the occasional meeting someone there that gets in the way, getting lost, etc. Again just stupid shit lol.

Speaking of Hana no Arashi is a series that has a very good firework moment actually, a great Yuri as well would recommend 5/7.

A beautiful ride indeed to get to this point, I fucking love pay offs like this were all the feelings that have been building up finally get an outlet, lol for both readers and the characters, a slow burn but a satisfying one I'd have hated it if the author just decided to take all that character progression and development and thrown it in the trash like some other authors, there's nothing more wonderful then the characters actually staying true to theirselves and not just jumping out of character or doing stupid shit to prolong drama.

Now I really wish we just get them acting like a sweet couple.

At least it got a theatrical release, that's more than any other yuri anime has gotten, but yeah those "Yuris" aren't very "Yuri", just hints and tidbits. Though the fact that we're getting more and more animes that have yuri in the tags is a good sign, like this year we got Otherside Picnic, Fragtime(it's an OVA, but still), Happy Go Lucky Days(movie with a yuri short story, still counts though), ofc this one(Adashima), so just maybe, just maybe we could possibly be making some headway towards one yuri anime getting a second season, but it's all just wishful thinking.

I know it's something kinda minor but idk it really bothered me lol it's supposed to be a more darkish blue and there it was a bright blue, her eyes looked all sparkly and it was throwing me off tbh lol.

Also does otherside picnic even have Yuri ? I've picked up all volumes thatve been released but idk why it feels like even if it has the tag that it's just gonna be a cocktease so I haven't actually started it lol anyone know if it delivers on the Yuri relationship?
