Unpopular opinion: reiichi isnt a bad person

He's made some bad choices, aka even getting married in the first place, but he hasn't cheated and has only spoken to his ex for advice. He didn't even sought her out she just was there naturally from.work. He didn't want to hurt Karou and has done what he thinks is best for her, we know that's obviously wrong but I don't think he's a bad guy so it's weird that everyone on here is like OMG REIICHI IS THE DEVIL I HATE HIM. I hate the "evil/dickhead man" in Yuri trope so I'm glad we don't have it here

He may not be a bad person but he's a terrible husband, and that's easy enough to hate. I can't imagine marrying someone fully knowing that I'll never love them the way they love me, who would deserve that? And he's basically like "If I never love you more why would that be a problem in our marriage?" That's pretty cruel to me, though I can accept that people value marriage differently. It's just if I were in her shoes I'd be extremely hurt and in a rage.

Though I'll admit, since it seems she had her doubts all along, they clearly weren't being honest with each other their entire marriage so this mess isn't solely on his ginormous shoulders alone. Only mostly.

Also working and meeting with your ex and never mentioning it to your spouse is wrong as heck.

Did you just read everything I wrote?. Asking someone to confess to your lover make it seem like your lover is not that irreplaceable to you. No matter how much you trust your lover and no matter how you feel secure in your relationship, asking someone to confess to your lover made you seem like the person who can give away your lover. Create a poll and ask "Is it alright to encourage/ask other people to confess to my lover?" and post it on internet. Most would answer 'No'.

By the way, I know that Chidori is obviously much more empathetic than I can ever be. And I also see that she felt much more secure in her relationship.

I definitely feel it's more nuanced than your suggested poll, chidori got put in a rough place with it. she either has to keep mai's feelings a secret from nanoha, which is terrible for a relationship, or reveal someone else's feelings without their permission. not even just someone else, but a close friend of nanoha and someone she's friendly with herself. if you think she was wrong going about it as she did, what would you have done?

even if we only get one chapter of it I'm always up for the concept of developing separately in order to come together, it's top healthy vibes. seen too many fall into codependency nightmares. this has been a very nice introspective story of two people choosing to come together through loss and supporting each other without too much burden placed on haru considering her age, I liked it
