This series definitely got cut short, Tsugumi even said so. But it was a fun ride, still kinda sucks knowing that there might’ve been more to the story.

that frigging cat is pissing me off. it won't kill you to be a lil less rude at least
the brunette is kinda stupid too. if you're constantly being demonstrated your attention is a bother and not needed, just why the duck you ignore this? I don't get it

It’s just a doujin bro

Man I love the character designs in Arknights, but I really don't want to invest in a gacha game. If only its monetization model is more like Girls Frontline...

There is a free pull system sort of like GFL's (but worse), so you could play without paying and eventually get a decent set of units - people have successfully cleared almost all the content with only freebie stuff. But it's definitely a struggle unless you pay, so if you have trouble with getting tempted to drop cash on these games definitely don't play it.

I like the character designs a lot but I wish it focused a bit more on character stories. Outside of the main story cast we really only get occasional character-focused events and the lore text in their profiles. :/

The news that trickle in from players that play AK are quite worrying for me so I decided against taking the plunge: restrictive stamina system that is ironically named sanity, earlier units get power creeeped, event maps only forcing you to play a certain way, event map so janky it's obvious they didn't playtest the thing, and just the damn gacha system. I played GBF so I know I'm weak against that particular kind of model. (Thank you very much for your work on Viramate by the way m(_ _)m ) I like my cute anime art and lore, but AK in its current state sounds like something I'd best avoid. Which is a shame, because it does look very attractive on first glance.

I think if you’re worried about ending paying then don’t play it. But, as someone who plays this game like an idiot, I can assure you none of the maps are janky or force you to play a certain way, I just brute force my way through every map in the game. As for power creep, obviously most 6 stars would be better than their lower rarity counterparts but as of right now the most powerful ones are available from the start, no new 6 star has surpassed them.

What? Arknights is probably the most casual gacha game I’ve ever played. You could just play it in the background while playing other games or while you’re commuting or something and you could have a decent amount of 5 and 6 star operators. It’s not like any of the maps require you to have them either, 3 and 4 star operators can clear all of it by themselves. What causes you to struggle?

Apart from the weird shit, this series is completely tolerable. Unfortunately, it's like 90% weird shit.

And this discussion about sexualizing children is dumb, and the person who started it is equally so. Being naked isn't inherently sexual. Children are depicted naked all the time, in numerous media. You would know this if you took the time to consume anything other than anime and manga. It's only sexual because you're making it to be.

Life is full of it

Isn't that why this is fiction? So that we can do something beyond the limits of reality? Ghosts aren't real. This scenario isn't real. Why does the pointlessness have to be?
That's just how I see it.

People's lives have meaning, not their deaths. It's not the author's job to make the reader feel better, fiction doesn't mean catering to some escapist fantasy. And her death was the catalyst for the story, without it our protagonists wouldn't have any interaction.

This is going to be the new no 1 yuri and fill the hole YagaKimi left behind. I can feel it.

God dammit, Plato, you’re fucking up the yuri progression of this story.

Dead people shouldn't ruin things for those who are still alive!

I had lingering doubts about this series but this chapter has really sold me on it. I love how the author manages to use familiar story elements but executes it so well that it doesn’t really feel cliched, kinda reminds me of BNHA in that sense.

Why are y’all so salty. The story was never yuri, it was never about yuri, it was never tagged yuri, it doesn’t need to be yuri. Why would you expect it to be yuri?

Konatsu has never been the best at handling her emotions, that’s her whole thing from the beginning. She has always held herself back and the strain from that is finally becoming too much. This has always been where her character was going, she’s learning to be selfish. Character development doesn’t always mean that the character is moving towards an objective good, it means the character is reevaluating they’re previous behavior and coming to understand themselves better.

And the whole thing about alcohol, I don’t know exactly how things are in your country, but in a lot of Asian countries the barrier is quite high. There’s a lot of social stigma to drinking alcohol, especially when you’re underaged and a girl. So it makes sense for sheltered girl like Honami to feel uncomfortable with it. And the whole point of that scene wasn’t the alcohol, it was about her struggle to be true to herself which has been her arc for a couple of chapters now.

The art is great and the overall story is fine so far, but there’s just something off about the pacing. Sometimes it feels as though two consecutive scenes are disconnected from one another. Maybe it’s the translation or just how the panels transition to one another or something else.

You could see this coming from the way Aki reacted to the date and anyway she's the character with the most screentime besides the mains so something like this was bound to happen.

But I get it must be very difficult to make this particular relationship veer toward eroticism in a way that won't make the readers (too much) disturbed.

TBH given the very premise of the story anyone inclined to feel queasy about the prospect of hot daughter-on-mom action should have headed for the door already by the end of the third chapter at the latest.

Quoted for truth because the first poster is obviously one of those who missed their exit point. I especially like that "too much" part, implying that average readers of this clearly tagged, multi-chapters story about incest will be disturbed by default. I was under the impression people usually read things they are into. I guess there are some who are not into it and are reading it to deliberately make themselves queasy, but I somehow doubt they form any meaningful percentage here.

I guess I'm in that percentage. It is possible for a story to be disturbing and compelling at the same time and that was I was kinda hoping for. This one is missing the compelling part though

This series is really interesting despite its problems. The main draw for me are the characters (the main ones anyway, cat girl and her girlfriend are kinda eh). I think this story does a "the human heart in conflict with itself" pretty well. Uta desperately wants to move on from Kaoru but is stuck because she can't get rid of her own hopeless feelings of love. Kaoru wants to be an adult and have her efforts appreciated by the man she loves yet when the situation calls on her to become a responsible adult and face her problems, she actively blinds herself so that she won't have to deal with it. This constrasts nicely with Uta who is the younger of the two but is more mature. Uta suffers because she understands, Kaoru suffers because she doesn't. The brother (I can't remember his name right now for the life of me) is breath of fresh air for the male element in a het-yuri love triangle. He's a scumbag for cheating ( though I can't remember the story stating explicitly that he did, but it's at least heavily implied), but we can see that he is suffering befause of it meaning there's a lot more to him than that and he is trying, at least. That being said, I agree with many of the criticism many people have already stated regarding the meandering plot, side stories, and pacing of this series. I have a feeling the fact the we read chapter by chapter each month or so has quite an impact on the pacing. I enjoyed it a lot more when I was bingereading several chapters at once (this goes for a lot of manga actually).
