I have a bit of a head canon where I picture her and Erika being real popular when they get to high school and being sort of the school idols/top girls, a la Touko and Sayaka from bloom into you :P Komichi is definitely going to break a few hearts, without even meaning to, of course, because she has that Tohru Honda like ability to be friends with everyone, including her enemies somehow :P

Personally I think Erika is the only one with a true crush as is in love with Akebi. The others are more like some level of fan girls but wouldn't actually consider a relationship with her. Erika does though in her own middle schooler first love way. Akebi has been so isolated being the only kid when growing up except her little sister that she is now playing catch up socially and is now first experiencing the feelings and thoughts from being with kids her own age. What just also happens be the same age some kids start becoming aware of things like non familiar love. One the reason she has no filters or brakes at times also as there were never anyone around to develop them with through experience.

Funny mention Touko and Sayaka as they look similar. Sayaka and Erika have similar behavior and could say Touko and Akebi was slightly similar if Touko hadn't been so twisted up inside. Maybe end of bloom Touko was closer.

Having resizing issues with My Food Seems to Be Very Cute. Trying to read it but except for the scantalator page the panels are really small. When I hit resize it makes them far bigger than the screen. I've been hving to resize the individual pages each manually to read what is rather tedious on laptop and makes it harder to enjoy it with having to reposition things each page.

So I assume she has scars on her arms. Question is are those from the accident or from self harm attempts.

I loved the part where she made the tungsten carbine walls. In the novel she also makes bullets to take out the fire balls is I remember. She could revolutionize the whole kingdom right there with making that stuff. Make furnaces out t and walls that no monster or enemy could break through, Tools, weapons and just so many more.

Also umm Kase she goes to a horticultural college. Everyone is giving everyone flowers all the time. I'm starting to think Kase is still stuck somewhat in the HS mind set while Yamada is maybe moving out of it more. Plus you can't do stuff that you could get away in HS now you're a adult in college like hitting people with a ball or say throwing a bag in someone's face. That end up getting you arrested now. It ain't teachers sending you to detention or coach making you run extra laps anymore.

Notice in the last panel when they are drinking lattes their knees are leaned toward each other touching. Just one those subtle signs of affection with the person you care about. Having physical contact with them even in a casual small way.

There's quite a few honestly, it very much falls into "known trope" territory. ... Not that this would stop me from reading another one.

On this general subject Yukiko Sensei's authorial style includes leaving out more intimate interactions between characters, this is pretty obvious from key interactions between both main characters and their friends.

In nearly all shown social contact even married couples are shown as playful or even a little sarcastic towards each other, much like real banter between those with long relationships. Personally I enjoy this style while also finding it a bit frustrating.

Any news about this supposed english release? I haven't seen it anywhere and the Gentosha listings don't seem to show it.

Unfortunately the company publishing is basically a rerestart of one that keeps failing. They also didn't do a digital version what is almost standard nowadays. So they aren't doing a good job handling promoting the series and I think if I remember right the volumes are way overpriced.

Either way, speaking of KS, I also liked their translation of chapter 42 and 43 better than 4s'. They are more literal which manages to capture some nuances 4s fails to include, and they have improved over time compared to their translation of chapters 38 & 39 (which they fixed to make it more "English" later on anyways).

I feel like I read something about a change in staff at 4s and since then the translations haven't felt as good. I even found the ks ones having a better feel especially this one. I'd almost think 4s is trying to hard to differentiate their version from the other group.

If I remember right the dip in the 4s version seemed to coincide with a change in the listed chapter poster on dex and Dex getting prioritized getting chapters sometimes much sooner.

Ya cares for her by taking her to a place that will be a mild form of torture between pain from the water on her wounds and having to expose her bruised body to others assuming she is even able to go into the baths at all. Sounds more like he is going to a hot spring and just bringing her along for sex and to probably serve him.

I really wish they would just openly commit to being in a official relationship. All their friends around them are already hooking up it be nice to see them be official instead of some odd limbo. I know the augments that they don't need that kind of thing and are already like a married couple or the it has been said in a way sorta. Just a concrete declaration that they are officially girlfriends would still be nice along with more of a opening up of affection being shown regularly on both sides. Insteading of often seeming like Kasumi tolerated Sakurako fawning over her and the vary rare times that Kasumi is shown returning that affection.
