I agree with ya there. I really wanted to like this because I love delinquent stories and the art is nice, but something about it is feels...off? I get this uncomfortable feeling whenever I read it that turns me away, but I can't put my finger on why. I'm glad other people are enjoying it though.

I hope Doumyou doesn't just send that picture to Tazune during this trip without Midori knowing. Between his previous abuse and Midori having no warning, I suspect he will beat her until she, the baby, or both are dead. Partner abuse turning into murder is depressingly common in these kinds of circumstances.

It bothers me that she's are aware enough to know she's being childish, but not aware of what maturity looks like.

Don't tell your 14 year old, grieving, orphan ward "Don't go" like this is a lovers' spat, tell her that she's welcome to stay and will always have a home with you no matter what she chooses. You know, like a responsible parent.

I will never understood the whole perfect idol fantasy thing. You can't "distance" yourself from someone you never knew in the first place. I'll give it another couple chapters just in case, but the premise isn't really my cup of tea.

ビッチ (bitch) in Japanese generally means "slut", aka someone who sleeps around, and doesn't have the same meaning as "bitch" in English. So, the blonde being the"slut" in this case makes sense. Correct me if I'm wrong, not a native Japanese speaker.

At least once a chapter, I found myself saying "call the police already". It's hard for me to enjoy predatory teacher stories since becoming a teacher. I need my age-gap sweet enough to cause diabetes or else it's just creepy. Is anyone else getting Kuzu no Honkai vibes though?

I struggled to think of a way to translate "sabishigariya" in a way that's distinct from how "bocchi" translates to "lonely" (eg. Bocchi Kaibutsu, Hitoribocchi), so I went with what the author phrased it as.

I think "easily lonely" instead of just lonely might work? "The Unicorn and Easily Lonely Girl"?

Even through it's usually translated as lonely, I always thought "solitary" or "all alone" works better for "hitoribocchi". Someone whose "bocchi" is all alone and isolated with no friends at all (and may or may not be lonely as a result).

Someone whose "sabishigariya" gets lonely easily despite having friends (and has social anxiety problems like agreeing to go to a party but wanting to go home). She calmly turned down an invitation to eat lunch instead of being overjoyed to have been asked at all so she's not totally isolated from her classmates.

Translating is hard.

I find it really surprising that so many people like Amane. I think she's incredibly annoying. She's short-sighted, narrow-minded, and embodies an anime archetype I despise. The short, pig-tailed, cutesy girl with lots of energy and an inferiority complex. I've seen her a thousand times and I never like her any more than I did the last time. She's stuck in the past and I don't want her getting back with Nene. She needs to learn to face reality and respect the feelings of others. But she's so loud and selfish that she only sees what she wants to. I can't stand her. Chapter 5 is easily the worst so far.
