I'm a bit put off by the tonal disjoints. I hope this works out for Takano Saku. I mean, it seems to be their best shot so far.

To be honest, I don't think Mayu has learned anything and it doesn't seem liked she has even tried to understand what she put Emi through. Her last line is at least some lipservice she wants to find out what she has done, but really, if she really has no inkling what she did to Emi, she's a lost cause.

I think it's an okay story, but the leaving partners in these break-up/bisexual break-up stories have always struck me as being two-dimensional. I can't really care about Emi's introspection when all that Mayu is is something that seems to be summed up as being "free and honest(?)", whatever that means. In a way, Mayu, that "Selfish Fuzz" girl and that goat girl from "Strange Babies" are suffering from the same state of being braindead.

But there are people like that out there. I know a guy whose sexfriend is a woman who has been in a relationship with her girlfriend for seven years. Back when they got together, she "negotiated" the right to sleep around with guys. Apparently now, seven years down the road, is the first time she plays that card and from what I've heard, her girlfriend isn't really happy about that and things are about to fall apart. I have no idea how you can do that if you value the other person. And yes, I did tell that guy he's a jackass for being a part in the whole fiasco.

It also doesn't help that Touko is older in the prequel than at the start of the first chapter, which makes pinpointing when this is taking place kind of difficult.

It was more on the thought-crime side. But I'd read a series about Fennec and Racoon's adult love life troubles.

Asking Rin to wait for her is asking a lot while at the same time giving her basically nothing, as she always has. All Kou did was lip service. She never walks the walk. Everything is still about her and how is she expecting Rin to wait "a couple of years"? It's either oblivious or brazenfaced. Kou really isn't girlfriend material and it would be good if Rin found someone more deserving of her.

Man, that sounded rather bitter. Up till now I had liked Kou as a character, but this is a bit much to chalk up to her being dense. You just don't do that. I think I'll get some Nene and Umiko nendoroids when they are released.

Yes, it's quite puzzling.

The blush response seems to be a killer feature. And Hiro-chan can be really smooth. This was a great ride.

Overall, by the end of the series, I like how the research team just quietly never did the traditional "We're working on a robot!" cliches, like responding to unintended behavior in the AI by trying to destroy it or antagonize it.

Exactly. That was a nice change from Linkage (although Linkage was neat, too) and the others.
