Side note, this is reminding me of another manga where an older lady was recalling her life lived as a lesbian who had never come out & had continued living within heteronormativity. I think the story was kind of told through her granddaughter's interactions with her. Does anyone remember what I'm thinking of?

Interesting!
I must have missed this one..
Anyone recalled ? Please share the title of the manga if you remember it, thank you!

Personally speaking, I find this manga fascinating.
It touches on topic that LGBT had, and opposing views from both a couple, their express and desire towards something different, which may or may not lead to a resolution.

I'm going to re-read the old yuri mangas that are available here again.
I think they are a gem nowadays.
Their stories sounded realistic.

If I were to read this few years ago, I may resent the decision Magobee made.
But now I can empathize her reasoning and understand the decision she had on mind.

Not many people had the same thought as Rei does.
I mean, there are other wlw couples who had the same thought and decided "This is it" and choose to settle down with the others.
But there are others who believe their life is only once, therefore they would like an entire different experience , being a mother, a wife..

Time is irreversible, age too.
There are certain things that you can only do in a certain phase.

I would respect the decision both Rei and Magobee had.

That was in those days.

Nowadays, if Magobee wanted to have children, she certainly would have different options to make.
To get married with Rei, have babies and settle down.
However, she might also end up choosing to break up with Rei because she decided to get herself married with a man, be a wife and settle down and have kids..

Whatever path that lies to her, she has the option to choose.
I think that is what the most important, is the option to choose what she wants to be in her life.

It's this disparate world of thought that they break up (irreconcilable differences).
If we remove the element of gender, it's just a couple who have different resolution about their love, with one wanting to move on to another phase and experience a different world, and another wanted to stay as it is.

And this manga is 2009 when it published.
The MC has such a big heart to accept people around her, being friends with LGBT people , whether it be lesbian or gay.
This is so precious nowadays, as we now know of the internet is full of ahem ahem ahem ahem.

Based on the name change I'm wondering if she actually got in under another girl's application, due to her own application being rejected or some other circumstance for the nun to try and do something underhanded.

Thus, maybe the villainess label is from another girl's answers

Oh! This makes much more sense if you interpret it that way.

But I have no no no idea, how on earth did you all manage to read the chapter and concludes that "she has to find a lover" for her villainess role?
Anyone has a clue? I don't,,

Story aside, if I were to have a friend (or girlfriend) who has a tendency to fall on ground frequently, I would be very wary about it and asked her to visit the hospital for a check.

Tomo San's place is actually quite comfortable.. and very zen-ish
Just a bed laying on the floor and some books and necessities, that's all
Nice.
Sorry to comment in the middle of reading but the last chapter seems to tag "tragedy" and I've yet reading it

Hopefully I've come prepared to deal with tragedy

The way Amano sensei censored her character is gold.
And yes, adult Yuri is best.
I really like it
Hope to see more adult yuri contents

It occurred to me that because some people don't have an inner voice, to a mind reader they'd be unreadable like this girl.

You're correct!
It's true. I have asked my parents about this before, and it seems that they don't have 'inner voice', therefore they're unreadable if someone or two who could read people's minds.

If there are people who have inner voice and could speak according to their head, then would that mean there will be people who can read someone's voice as long as they speak to their head?
Woah... This is going to be one of the most unexplainable things happened in our mind.
I mean..
Can you imagine someone who could read other people's minds, and one who nonchalantly speaks what's in his/her mind because that's the only place they could go to, as they probably have no one to speak to (i. no people interested to listen to their garbage; ii. people are just too busy with their own stuffs)

i pity the person who could read people's minds because well..
you know how people's minds could be extremely nasty and would just speak whatever that comes in a whim, whether it's positive or negative

Keep overhearing negative messages by listening to people's head is going to bring a detrimental to health though.

Is there a way to stop the person to listen to this person's inner voice?
I am pretty sure it brings both to peace if one could block the inner voice , and the other doesn't have to listen to it..

When is this getting licensed already so I can rec it to my "more normal" friends who don't vibe with piracy

If this series is getting popular and more people are into it, and it has its own niche for marketing, and it's worth every penny to be licensed for a release, then it will soon be announced that a company (most likely Seven Sea but..there might be other companies) will pick it up to be licensed.

But right now, think of this as 'testing the water'.
You should show it to your friends if you find this manga to be beautiful.
When it reaches to its popularity, I am pretty sure there will be companies who would come forward to scwinn sensei for the manga to be licensed.

Anyway, if you wanted to help sensei's work, it never hurt to buy the manga too. Though it speaks Japanese.
Sales always help motivate both the publishing company and the mangaka to continue working on the series.

Would people wanted to have their minds heard of?
I feel a great discomfort if people could hear it because it means my nasty mind that's filled with Yuriness is going to explode someone's head...and that's no good ...

I mean.. I've always believed that my little mind here creates this small little space that's reserved just for me to have whatever wild imagination going through.

It felt like someone or something trespassing it without my permission to see what I was thinking and so...
That's offensive T.T..

Can't they just leave my small little mind (my own personal bubble)for my own without hurting it? ...T.T

Winbose 10 and Photoshop transparency hahahahaha...
This is so funny
They cosplay whatever they could come up with. Real cool.
Not in my mind ever to think someone will cosplay layer mask from Photoshop

But this manga does tick me off a little because Shinozaki keeps saying she wanted to save Kaede so that she could become normal ..
Is Kaede not considered normal?

My thoughts on that was .. being friends mean accepting who she or he is, regardless if the person may not like the same thing or stuff as you, but both of you still manage to find similarities that both of you could appreciate to talk about.
Am I wrong?

The sudden twist made the believed -to-be happy ending to be cynical and dark.
Should we suggest a horror tag for this one shot?

I wonder how it feels like to be stabbed at the heart?
Does it hurt so much or does it hurt too much that one will pass out without feeling any pains?

Citrus isn't incest at all. It's just a classic "brand new step-siblings fall in love" setup at its core. Yuri live action version equivalent would be "Transit Girls", and it's a fairly common teen romance trope in general due to many writers themselves having experienced their parents divorce.

I see. Thank you for correcting my mistakes ^^!

The king stated that, all he mattered is that the light of Alphard would not be lost.

Assuming that the light has and should have been passed down to male generations in their kingdom, it was only this occurrence that Leo and Ciel ended up getting each other's magic, instead of what's intended.

It should have been Leo's responsibility if he were the one to hold the light, but since he didn't, Ciel was the one who ended up having it.
That means, in order to pass it down to next generation, she'll have to, eventually bear the children for her kingdom.

Unfortunately for her, Ciel love interest is Evris, and so that itself has already stopped her from able to procreate as man and woman needed to procreate to pass down the light ( it's as if in this story setting, the only way to get the magic is born innate, like there's no other ways of getting it, such as stealing it with dark magic/spells etc.. although if it's possible to do so, then Ciel would have just happily exchange it with her brother and lives her own life with her beloved..or so I thought. And also, because the setting is only a twin in this case, male and female that happens to obtain power of the opposite, so it makes the situation desperate. In real life setting, the king would have had thousands of concubines and spread as much light as possible so that there are many who might be the light for the kingdom sarcasm intended, sorry for people who read it and feel offended by the thought of it)

I think this is what the King was trying to say. Therefore, he considered Evris to be the witch because if she doesn't exist, then Ciel wouldn't have chosen her to be her lover (and also because Ciel feeling guilt over having the light of Alphard instead of Leo, and that because Leo has the dark magic, he's"banished" from his country as dark magic is considered to be the magic of death. It doesn't flourish the country.)
You know the whole thing about the country is about to doom if only one species exists, and assume that other species that is about to doom is the light, so as to speak... You get the idea wink wink

Still... all hope is not lost, because this is a country of light, hope and full of magics.

What Ciel is trying to introduce the people of country is that, dark magic isn't bad, it can be used to help people too, so people shouldn't be afraid of, instead embrace it, as people who thinks of dark magic as dark and bad are the ones who use them in a dark and bad manner (magic is just a tool, and it's the person's mind who determines whether it should be used to do bad stuff or wrong).

And also to bring back his brother to the country.
The country shouldn't just accept the world of light, they should accept dark magic to work together. Just because someone is born with dark magic, doesn't mean the person is bad.

Or so, I think that's what I interpret as I read along the story.

Scratch that!
I have fallen into the black hole of pessimism, having read on the insinuating remarks on this thread.
But now I see a light ray seeping through the black hole, and have slowly following its path to get out from it.

I now think it is really possible two surviving females are able to reproduce and flourish the population of the world (IF the population has come to an extinct, and this will be the last resort to flourish back the population), having read the article about Reproductive Technology.

It seems that in real life, there was a research investigating the possibility of same-sex procreation by creation of either female sperm from the genetic material of a female or male eggs, which contain the genetic material of a male. After years or research, they found out that the idea of female sperm became more of a reality because they were able to create human female sperm using artificial or natural Y chromosomes and testicular transplantation. It seems that they have done a research, using mice, which allows two mothers to produce viable offspring as opposed to two fathers, though they probably already ceased these techniques.

TLDR;
With a book manual, extraction, lab testing and gene editing, then transplant it back to the body of mother, it will work!
So yeah, I don't think the mangaka of this story is spouting nonsense or make fun of it.

She's relating to the characters in the story. It doesn't feel like someone else's problem--it feels like hers.

I believe the flowers are supposed to be sweet peas.

Oh, I see.
Thank you for replying!

By the way, what does the MC mean when she said
...The feelings those girls had, the ones that had to disappear, or they had to give up on, it doesn't feel like someone else's problems.. ?

MC and shop lady are basically speaking to each other in code.

SL: Here is a book you should read, which coincidentally (wink wink) is on the subject of GL. Allow me to call attention to a particular chapter, which reminds me of you (wink wink).

MC: I notice that this book that that you loaned to me is on the subject of girls having to give up on their true feelings (wink wink we're talking about girls who like girls but ended up in a heteronormative marriage that's what we're talking about here, right), which happens to be a subject relevant to my interests (wink wink).

Keeping the topic general and abstract but with oh so much subtext. That way there's no embarrassment if they're reading the room wrong, but they can say what they want to say if the other person knows how to parse it.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for your translation.
Now it really makes more of a sense to me.
Thank you! Truly grateful, thank you!

And as my “world without yuri stories” crack was intended to imply, there’s a curiously old-fashioned tone about this one, with “but we’re both sisters” taking the place of “but we’re both girls.”

I think I actually and finally get what you mean now.
It's like before same-sex union exists, in order to have the same-sex couple to be together, since they couldn't marry each other, therefore the only way to do so is to have one of them as their 'family', so that one of them could inherit property, or to take care of the other person etc.. if the other is unavailable or passed away.

I am, and will forever grateful that Morinaga sensei to take that big leap and decided to draw fluffy girl x girl with happy endings because not many mangaka does this genre during her days. She said that during her note after her Kisses, Sigh and Cherry Blossom that the sole reason she did so is because she loves drawing girls, and with that reason alone, I am forever indebted.

Without Morinaga sensei's works that bring the spotlight to this genre, there wouldn't be heaps of yuri mangas nowadays.
If anyone were to say who's their favourite yuri mangaka in the mid 2010s, Morinaga sensei is definitely within the top list, along with Morishima Akiko sensei and a few more.

I considered her one of the pioneers who bring forward genre yuri. She, together with a few other yuri mangakas push it, then other mangakas decided that, "hey, doing what we love and what we like isn't bad at all", and decided to join the circle.
We now could see a variety of mangas presented, and some great yuri mangakas who are better at working towards the script, storyboard or even the characters and the flow of development. We learn so many great pairings in and also interesting stories with some touches of yuri, and also discovered great yuri mangakas on our way.

Therefore, I really am grateful to Morinaga sensei, and she will forever in my top list, my favourite pairing being Hitomi x Nana and Akko x Mari.

So yes, I am aware that she used to draw H, but that's all right.
Everyone has their place to start.

Badmouth Morinaga sensei is a nono in Yuri circle.
Thanks to part of her contribution, Yuri is where it is now.

You may not like her works, or think that it's bland, but she has devoted fully on yuri and focus on writing story development between two girls who are in love with each other with no other side characters that go make the whole story difficult, just the easy yuri story of : two girls who love each other, that's it, and her stories are focused mainly on the inner development of two girls(which she is really good at expressing it towards her arts) : how they initially curious, deny, then slowly accepting the feelings and decided to confess and fall for each other (And we know deep down, it's relevant to us. Why? Most of us started out like this, and nowadays it is difficult to kind of getting this setting, because the other yuri mangakas will start incorporate some other elements, like adding side characters that are totally out of nowhere or even trying to deviate the yuri setting by making the story like two best friend forever, instead of what we have known yuri for : two girls who love each other.

If you really like Yuri in the first place, you would never badmouth someone who has given so much to this circle.
Else I suspect that your sole reason to create an account to express your disdain towards someone has other motives which are demeaning and simply pure evil.

Does the flower plant imply that Kiyoko san is dead and she was buried as a small plant?

I was confused the whole discussion about the mind control to make people fall in love with someone.
I thought she cast a love spell onto her instead.
Am I.. not right?

The whole having sexual intercourse without consent thing reminded me of the movie Midsommar.
Now I pitied the guy who got picked by the girl.
She puts her p**ic hair into his pie and made him drank some kind of medicine for him to have intercourse with her.
And he ends up as a sacrifice at the end
