IIRC, the frog dies in the original story.

Don't they both die? I looked it up once, but can't quite recall at the moment.

The short story has no real ending. The salamander and the frog spend years stuck in the cave and they still stubbornly refuse to admit they appreciate each other's company.

I seem to recall it ends on a bittersweet note, like, the frog is dying but it can't bring itself to hate the salamander.

Well, I'm at least sure that they don't find a way out, like in the conclusion of this manga. Because the Salamander physically CAN'T get out.

Hachimitsu provided a link for an online version and a download link in the chapter 14 release post, so everyone who's interested can just go and read it.

Yahallo, I'm trying to find a manga with a similar premise to Taiyaki's "Let's meet again tomorrow" with the train as its main setting, though I can't remember anything beyond that and the fact that it was released before the aforementioned story.

Only one I can think of is Until the Next Station (plus sequel), but these were released much later...

Tsundere couples, in MY classic lit?!

Now you see why Japan likes tsundere so much. They have such a long tradition.

First the cute boys, now Pilse and Ai... this arc is launching some good ships.

I just hope that Ai doesn't sacrifice herself at the end of the current arc. The whole "Japanese maiden with an unspecified, but debilitating condition" trope is a popular death flag IIRC... :-(

Probably not, seeing how this condition is likely directly related to the current enemy's goals. It is possible, however, that this will cause them to die, possibly to cure Ai, keeping with the theme so far established earlier with Pepesha's mother going back to the dead.

They had lots of nyaa afterwards.

They downloaded a bunch of anime torrents?

Can't rule out that either.

Oh, don't get me wrong, this series is currently my second favorite after the obvious Yagate Kimi ni Naru; on the other hand, while I do love Ani no Yome as well, the latest chapter implying that Nozomi will be dragged to a mixer now is not where I would have wanted it to go. We'll see how she reacts to this, though.

edit: Potential spoilers for other series spoilered.

Ritsuko, the best friend hauling her out of doors, is a lesbian.

I doubt she assumes the same of Nozomi, though. But that does alleviate my fears a bit.

[...] because I am sure it going to be much way worse than Ani to Yome.

After the latest chapter of that, not bloody likely.

^ Looking at sneik's site, it's been pretty constantly about two to two and a half months per volume.

These awkward useless lesbians... :D

Even when she does get that she's going too far, when faced with Akane she again has no idea how to express her feelings other than through physical advances.

There's also another very important line that raises this above anything even remotely filler-like, and that's Yashiro's "[Meeting Adachi] always marks the moment when you begin to change, Shimamura.”

After volume 7, the next volume was released after more than 2 and half years later. That was the most difficult time for Adashima fans; Mani's manga was canceled, Iruma-sensei rarely posted anything adashima related and it really felt like adashima was going to get cancelled anytime.
And then...

AND THEN

Iruma-sensei gave us volume 8. No spoilers of course, but it was the kind of volume that you didn't mind waiting for 10 years till the next book is released.

Just straight up spoil me bro

Oh, just read... We're already getting this volume right now wit the first chapter out today.

Judging the next chapters’ titles, I‘m not quite sure how much of it is just fillers, sounds like a good portion of them.

How so? Judging by the titles we should now return to the school trip mentioned in this chapter, which should certainly not be filler. Then some side couple stuff, which I wouldn't consider filler either, even if some readers don't seem to care for them. And again back to the school trip. The last chapter does probably follow the first again, judging by the title, but unlike the what if chapters of the previous volumes, I wouldn't really even consider these flash forwards filler. And with Yashiro's comments in this one, even those what if chapters became an important part connected to the actual story.

And on another note, that was the other Yashiro on TV, right?

This has probably already been said before but, Gundam on Dynasty?? Wow crazy times.

I mean, we've already got Lovecraft, so...
