Anime Yuu looks like she's got bags under her eyes and with the bedhead appears chronically tired. A nice touch if it's intentional.

That is something I also wondered about. I've read several things tagged "Yuri" on this site that had very slow starts with several chapters of not even implied romance. What makes this one different? I guess nobody even knows anymore.

For an extreme example, Yuru Yuri doesn't have a start yet gets a Yuri tag. Most of it isn't even subtext...

It hadn't even registered with me that Konatsu has been wearing a different school's uniform the whole time...

Is there something about the surname Bengin that makes her not want it used?

Oh my goodness me. This is one of the most wonderful things I have ever read. And now I have to wait for god-knows-how-long for maybw the final chapter...? My heart can't handle it. This manga has made me feel so happy.

Um, I think the manga is coming to its end. The next chapter is in October, I feel probably like last 3 chapters to end? Now just resolution on their relationship.
Doubt the author will go on showing their lovey dovey life afterwards unfortunately. :(

Haha, I love this manga, it'll be sad to see it end and not have another one to follow. But all good things come to an end and I'm glad this one will be complete! It's a masterpiece and Nakatani is awesome for her art and symbolism.

And I do apologize for the confusion and worry to some of you; I did indeed confused the manga chapter date with the anime release date.

I do still think though that the manga will end this year with 7 volumes (Seven Seas has license for 7 volumes). If there's one chapter release per month Oct., Nov., Dec. then there's 3 more chapters left until end. Each volume of Bloom Into You have about 5 chapters per volume on average, I think Volume 6 will contain up to chapter 33 which leave 5 chapters for Volume 7. Anime starts Oct. 5 (Fri), assuming 13 episodes the last episode will be aired Dec. 28 (Fri). By past trends manga releases on the 26th of the month so literally we'll have the manga end before the anime end (which is nice considering how a lot of manga adapted anime either left open end or alt. ending kinda). Although wishful, if Nakatani would do a volume 8 with just lovey dovey that would be nice too :)

I had the idea that this would be the last chapter of vol. 6 but I'm not sure where I got that from. It certainly feels like it needs at least five chapters to negotiate this situation.

I kinda want Yuu's sister to emerge as a key player here. I imagine it might start when she notices that that senpai hasn't come around in a long time, since soon after the "who asked who out" car conversation.

Probably not happening though, as that would take a time lapse with lots of passivity on the protagonists' part.

The thing is... in the novel, the Salamander and the Frog don't date.

The Salamander imprisoned the Frog because it was feeling lonely, being unable to leave its cave.

In the end, the Frog can't leave, even if it wanted to, it accepted its fate.

Not that one. It was something like a meta story about how the collection came to include things that were originally published in different magazines or why the series had switched from one magazine to another, with the magazines as characters.

Anyone remember what series/anthology had an extra/postscript chapter that involved personifed yuri magazines as characters?

No one else thinks there are pages missing? If you look at the side margins, pages 12-14 are all right-hand pages, 15-16 are both left-hand pages and so are pages 18-19, all with jumps into the middle of unrelated scenes.

Her voice is good enough during normal conversations IMO. I don't think Touko is supposed to come off as intimidating and authoritative, but rather friendly and charismatic. Also, wouldn't a more authoritative voice work against her "hidden cute side"?

Charismatic is what I was getting at, like the rehearsed voice of a politician or news anchor that's meant to project dependable professionality and keep emotions hidden.

I'd like to suggest a tag for stories involving a gay (domestic?) relationship with kids. Call it Non-Science Babies or just Parents or something. Some things that it would cover are Musume no iede, Ebisu-san and Hotei-san, Helter Skelter.
