Well that was... actually (scratching my head) I don't know what that was.
Seriously! I don't know what that was. A cute story of two broken girls completing each other? A touching tale of a girl lost befween the cracks of society, getting a second chance at life? A Semi-dark glimpse of the unseemly world of human trafficking?
I'm not sure how to take this. especially the last bit about the mom. While I get why Kaede wouldn't just hand over Kirika to the woman who stood aside and did nothing while her husband abused, and then sold their child. I think she should have at least asked Kirika's feelings on the matter. Taking stewardship of a grown able-minded person, is just the flip side of owning them.

The swimsuit chapter would have been my favorite chapter, if I was a loney otaku boy, who never talked to an actual girl before.

Said the otaku boy on the manga site who just read the swimsuit chapter. Glass houses and kettles etc.

Im my defence, I always hated the whole idea of fan service. I mean this chapter would have been just fine with our heros just being well drawn in swimsuits. I didn't need the way over the top, close up crotch, and boob shots. They just made me feel like a pervert. I think I would have felt less drity, if the characters just stripped down and had sex.

Damnit the more I think about it the more I realise that Maki should just walk away. She is setting herself up to be Midori's security blanket, where Maki goes through endless cycles of heartbreak, as Midori repeatedly runs to Maki, when things get rough with jerkwad, only to leave Maki again whenever the guilt gets to her.
That makes it even more important that it's totally Midori's choice to walk away from her marriage. It will prove that being with Maki is her choice and not taken in desperation to avoid being alone

Does Midori know Maki is gay? I can't remember if they discussed Maki's love life since highschool. I want to say no.

Yes. https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/run_away_with_me_girl_ch02#8

Midori knows darn well which way Maki swings... and that she does so particularly hard in her own direction.

Thanks that saved me from a hour or two of rereading.

i agree with NaruZombie. things can't stay like this forever i think this picture can be necessary to finally have the so awaited break up. this break up though... might have a price to pay i fear.

While I agree there is zero percent chance that the girl is not going to show that picture to Mr. Punchy McWomanbeater I really hope you're wrong about it forcing Midori's hand. I want Midori's choice to walk away from that jerk and be with Maki ,to be all her own.

first off why didn't Midori put a reminder in her phone, like a normal person?

Second I use to have a sweater just like the one Midori was wearing in the dinner scene.

Third I'm kind of bad with social cues, but even I knew Haru wanted Midori to claim her.

But they are both girls.

That line is as evil as taking advantage of a helpless sleeping woman. Lol

Why do they bother with a TV in a love hotel room at all? It's not like the people staying there will... WAIT! ZENMETSU-SAN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO TO POOR SLEEPING YOGHURT PARTY-SAN!?

Honestly ZENMETSU putting the moves on a sleeping Yogurt Party kind of felt a little bit online predator-ish.

Some people watch porn to get into the mood.

Heh... I didn't think of that.

(long heavy sigh) How long is Chiaki and Harumi going to hang in this weird quasi-sexual no man's (woman's) land relationship? This is starting get annoying. I mean how long can you hang out at second base, before you get bored and at least make a play for third.

Because of her undying love and yearning for boobies, duh. Did you miss the title of this series lol

I get it BOOBS! BOOBS! BOOBS! However thirty seven chapters of nothing but boob groping gags is just too much for me. I find the whole concept of non-sexual boob worship exceedingly vexing to begin with.
I was willing to stick with the story, because there seemed to be some hope that all that boob play would lead to a romantic relationship between Chiaki and Harumi, but that seems to have been completely forgotten now. A fact driven home when Harumi denied being Chiaki's lover without a hint of the standard embarrassment, or anger manga characters get when they are hiding their true feelings.
I guess it's my fault expecting at least a little romance in a gag manga.

I picture Akiho, laying there freaking out, worrying about delicate Fuuka. Then Fuuka waking up and casually banging on the wall, yelling for them to keep it down, she has company, then rolling over and going back to sleep.

Sometimes I think lines like "We're both girls, so there is nothing to worry about, right" are the most infuriating lines in all of yuri.

Edit: While I'm rooting for Midori and Maki to get together in the long run. I think Maki needs to keep some distance between them for now. It's obvious that Midori has to leave that dick, then spend some qulity me time before she will be able form a healthy relationship. Maki should stick around and help Midori as a friend, but she should definitely hold back any dating talk, until Midori is in a better place.

It's not just Midori that has issues to deal with though. Maki is completely obsessed with the past, at this point it's honestly impossible to say if she's actually in love with Midori, or the memory of her from high school.

I think they both need time apart if their relationship is to have a chance of succeeding.

Yeah, you're right. I aways hate the time gap stories where it appears that the protagonist has done nothing in the interim but pine over their lost love.

This mangaka has gone and done THE WORST FUCKING THING that they could do for me. The mangaka has decided an antagonist, who most likely will never have any kind of redemption arc or reason to care about in any way, a back story to explain why he does the shitty, horrible, dirtbag bullshit he does. NEWS FLASH WRITER: WE DON'T CARE! The character is an outright shitbag, and we don't want to story to focus on him AT ALL. Literally nothing he does will change our opinions of him at this point, and solidifying his shittyness with a backstory like this, will only lose you readers. NOTE TO FUTURE/CURRENT WRITERS: DON'T DO THIS. It is a complete waste of our time. I didn't finish this chapter, and will not be reading any more of this manga. The art is lovely, but the writing needs a lot of work.

lmfao what.

What other antagonists can we think of who were given back stories and depth to explain their awful choices actions, hmm: Voldemort, Thanos, Vader.. the fucking purple teddy bear from Toy Story lmfao. Where did you study to be telling people to avoid giving their antagonists depth?

I agree with you here.

People aren't suppose to like Tazune, we are explicitly made to dislike him. He sucks a lot and Battan did a good job making this feel as natural as possible. The story feels more realistic than other manga, every character has flaws and baggage and we can understand What they're thinking/feeling and I think its going to be a satisfying read.

I think this is a bit harsh, though The person voiced an opinion, and you jumped on them like they stole something from you. I think we have to remember everybody is entitled too their opinion, and the old message board saying If you don't like it don't read, goes for the comments as well.
Nothing wrong with a spirited debate, but lets try to keep it civil.

Also, I don't think Battan will miss your readership, theres the door.

I'm amazed some commenters are talking as if the events in this chapter caught them by surprise. It was so freaking obvious violence was the next step. This guy is like a textbook abuser: started nice and gentle, moved on to verbal abuse, controlling behavior, embarrassing her in front of her friends and coworkers to further alienate her from them... we already had the whole range of psychological coercive tactics, everything checked out five by five. The time was right for that brutal blow to the face that busted her nose and lips and knocked her to the floor -- a move that should terrify her and teach her not to talk back when her man lays down the law! That's Tonoike Tazune for you: nobody special, just your everyday garden-variety patriarchal abuser.

I disagree. I don't think phisical violence was nessessrily in the cards, some abusers are satisfied with psychological abuse. I just think the author took it to this level to really drive home the point this relationship is toxic for Midori. So there is no chance the reader would side with the husband, when Midori takes his unborn child and runs from him.

Midori's husband just went from a passive agressive jerk to a full blown abusive asshole.

All of this toxic heteronormativity is really getting painful to read. I swear if the only reason Midori runs back to Maki is her d-bag husband cheats on her, I'm going quit this story.
