Business / diplomat courses for basic lingual understanding often are just a few weeks. If you are really determined and spend a good 8 or so hours a day on learning a foreign language, you should get quite far in a month (also, the younger you are, the better ;) ).

... the problem with theories about this manga is that basically anything goes and there's no real pattern to the Oddmen. You can't say they have some sort of theme (or if they do, I don't see it) or anything else that'd give a good hint to what the last one could be. Not even the "they are all girls" pattern holds ^^;

Not saying that's a normal piercing, but they appear snug, so how'd you bite them off? Just seems kinda pointless back there on the side ^^;

Either way, personally, while I like the art, the story and setting seems kinda ... I don't want to say "worn-out" to me. It just feels like these types of characters that do these types of things for these type of reasons have been around a lot lately.

So, is she her actual mother, or her "mother", as in the one who turned her? Cuz mama looks like she mostly prefers young blondes...

It's hard to picture her even older than loli-vamp though. I suspect that it's rather the other way around; that she tried getting lucky with the wrong young blonde and she decided that it'd be useful to have someone around that looks old enough to be her mother for administrative/bureaucratic purposes ...

I wouldn't call it lighthearted, although I think I get what you mean. But Asuka's dad is dead, Akira is guilt-ridden for some reason, and the incest theme is definitely "more serious" than your average Mocchi-equivalent. So Miyuki having her mom commit suicide as a minor aspect somewhere isn't too much outside what else has been going on to me.

I think it'll depend on how this subplots resolves itself. Asuka going "oh yeah, I knew you'd say we'd continue to 'study' ..." is imo a good indicator that it'll actually keep within the tone of the manga and it'll be some sort of nonchalant end that's not nearly as dramatic as everything looks right now ^^;

While I'd overall agree with the "too much flashback!" sentiment I think people are a little bit harsh over the current arc. Sure, if it's only three chapter to the end from here it'd suck, but if it's planned to be a long series it's nothing that outrageous and clearly these events are important for Asuka's ... teenage formation years ^^

If she just saw her as a 1:1 replacement the romance would have started immediately, like in Kusanagi-sensei is tested and comparable stories.

For some reason those electricity poles really made me laugh. It's just so fucking random.

I actually would love more series with slow x clumsy characters, like, they're not smart, not aggressive and not very pro active into taking action but they're cozy, romantic and well just adorable.

The characters aren't as extreme as the two here, but maybe take a look at Tsurezure Biyori? They are kiiiiinda a bit like it ... maybe ... it's cozy anyway.

I'd say it's because for the most part the story is (more or less) told from Arisa's perspective. Since she sees Mari as very attractive she's shown to be very attractive.

Because this kind of premature dismissal of a story on basis of nothing but obviously biased typecasting of the author is inherently bloody stupid and annoying?

But it's not just the author's history. The last panel very clearly indicates that something is going on with the cheating-woman. So you tell me what's it supposed to be if not some drama-scheme involving the heroine?

Plus, the general way the first chapter is constructed - starting with the "don't commit suicide" scene, but also that baby-boob thing, and the drunken-we're-just-friends kiss give more than enough indication to what to expect from the story. ^^

That theme is somewhat explored in Castro's great Andrea Cort series, where the heroine is manipulated by an almost-all-powerful almost-all-knowing entity, and she has no clue whether her love interest(s ...it's complicated) are just a further attempt to be drawn into its plot or if it's genuine - and whether that makes any sort of difference. It's quite interesting.

But I really doubt it'll matter much in this scenario.

Unfortunately elsewhere most of the time this sort of stuff is just an excuse for some sort of cheap porn thrills of some type ^^
