Holy shit, Nevri. In that case, then you can kick out your tenant. You cannot rape them. Coercion is illegal. And the two instances ARE equivalent acts of coercion, legally. In this story, it was just a dramatic plot device, that's it. But in real life, you're proposing it's okay to rape someone if they owe you something. And an ultimatum is not a free choice, it's still rape.

When a landlord intentionally rents to women that they know won't be able to pay rent, then demands sexual favors from them so they can stay, it's not okay.

And of course everyone would support asking for rent, that's what you can do in a civilized society. You cannot demand sex as payment, for anything. Ever. EVER.

Does anyone know which Bloom Into You and Akuma no Riddle chapters are the theater ones? And what would count? Just the parts with the play itself, or the lead up with the script writing and planning too?

Well, now that everything's calmed down a bit, how about a quick update. We talked with Archivers and provided feedback for chapter 1. They're planning to translate it again and will continue ahead with the series. Here's wishing them luck with Takemiya Jin, who is always a bit tricky to work on!

To be fair to Melville he was getting paid by the word count, as was common practice at the time. Cue every author who could get away with it (Dumas is a notable example) padding their shit six ways to Sunday with filler...

Ehhh, Melville was consumed by that book. His other works, adventure tales, sure the pay and word count mattered. But Moby Dick was insanely experimental and something of a flop. An obsessive work that conceptualized good and evil in the entire universe. Really off putting, like Infinite Jest or Xenosaga.

I gotta not read Teppu though, makes me want to train low stakes mma. Is that possible without permanent head trauma?

All of it. All of Tsubomi. Everything currently not translated. Under the heading of a new scanlation group called The Macaron Press. The project is still forming, and we're still collecting all the raws. Many raws are old and may end up being re-scanned, but we'll see.

Hello! You're right, what we're up to is something of gray area, to say the least, and I see why it could be an unpopular move. I'm going to contest one of your points though, since you're painting a bit of an unfair picture of our work.

You've pulled one glaring mistake from our body of work, back from when we were still coming into our own. This is in no way indicative of our work, or of the average quality of our releases. We have one of the highest standards of quality, and one of the most rigorous release processes, out of all the groups. There will always be mistakes, we can always improve, and we have a long way to go, but these errors are not equivalent.

Oi, Blastaar, what kind of researcher? Undergrad? Grad? Post-doc? Journalist? Blogger? Corporate stooge? Freelancer? Poor bastard adjunct faculty? And hit me up on Discord.

Because it's only just now being posted to dynasty. Dynasty misses stuff all the time.

Less "misses" than "the uploaders aren't scouring the internet for yuri." Most of the chapters that aren't done by a major scanlator and/or part of a series are submitted by users through the upload request form. However long it takes for someone to request it be uploaded is how long it takes for it to be uploaded.

They're totally in a closet at the end of 41, but they can also go through walls (see page 1 of this chapter for foreshadowing). They may have just went in to spy

No one's said anything yet about the very questionable shape and utility of that aphrodisiac bottle! It's, uh, questionable and suspect.

It's possible to write well paced one shots, though. They're just something she can work on. It's really not too bad as a one shot, though. I guess it's more about if you want a wrapped up story, like this one, or one where the relationship ends in limbo, like a lot of the Eclair stories. Personally.

We don't operate in a vacuum and this situation is very different from business as usual. The market and labor situations on both ends are far more complex and the author's known intentions add a new angle. We're going to proceed as mentioned.

And uh, Nevri, it's stealing by both the dictionary and legal definition. That's something we have to tangle with as scanlators and pirates, we can't just wave it away.

There's obviously multiple ways to view this situation, Arc and I just differ in what we subjectively think is the right thing to do.

I highly advise against translating this into English. Irua herself asked specifically not to do so, so translating it would mean directly giving the finger to one of the yuri artists our community relies on and generally appreciates and respects. What we do is already ethically questionable, but that would be, and is, a clearly ethical dick move. Ominously, the third one has not shown up at comiket as originally planned.

That being said, we have the scans and are planning on reaching out to Irua after time has passed for actual permission on our end.

Nevri, there's a lot wrong with incest. The power dynamics are off the wall, a much more ethically complex issue than like sleeping with your boss or professor. Potential for abuse emotionally is through the roof. If you have children, odds of genetic abnormality is extremely high. Interpersonal relationship issues will play out completely differently with likely much worse consequences for your family, apart from it being a UNIVERSAL taboo across cultures. It's not simply an old tradition, it's universal. And even this all assumes you have a consenting relationship between adults.
