You, uh, do know we've got the whole thing up to date here on the reader so you can see for yourself, right? It's a lot of fun.

I'll check it

their art is just moe-blob art. (nowadays with just flashier coloring, but still just the same moe-blob they always had)

This is the artstyle though. It's wrong to say their art sucks because someone doesn't like the moe artstyle in general.
And to be honest, I don't even find it moe. I don't like moe either, but I do't think it's more moe than your typical anime about underage girls/boys.
The stories that are about highschool girls have to be a bit moe anyway. They can''t just draw 15 yos looking all mature.

Death Parade that has more adult characters and you can see the artstyle change.

nooo not kyoani their art sucks

Whoot? At least one of their strong points is the art.

and anti yuri.

Anti yuri would be them completely removing every gay interaction between Reina and Kumiko and make them seem 100% straight.

Not sure about the dragon anime though. I don't know what it's about at all. Is it a dragon who transforms into a girl? I read somewhere it might be futa . Could definetely be a troll though

Seriously, I was expecting something good to come out for Sumin and Sungji after this. But it is possible, if they end up together, it will be made in a silly way.
It's probably author's fault I guess, that Sumin seems to talk to Seju so easily after that, but if we discard this, we can say that Sumin just can't stay mad at Seju for too long. Honestly, I just think they should end up together at this point.
Sumin and Sungji feels a bit pointless right now. Maybe it's just me though.

Before the cheating situation, and maybe right before Dawoon showing up, I thought Sungji would be the "healer" out of them three. But now they added a possible new love interest for her? What does that have to do regarding her relationship with Sumin? It was a bit sad when she thought of Sumin when she was with Dawoon, but she seems to be capable of getting over Sumin in the future. Seju does not, and this is also one ofthe reason's why I think that maybe they should end up together. Because Seju needs Sumin more. Of course Sungji's behavior is competely understandable though.

Seju and Sumin were always really close, and even now this stll seems to be the case. So yeah, I think they should end up together and try to solve their problems instead of finding new partners.
It's been too long imo for Sumin to finally completely get over Seju and start new with someone else, without messing up that person as well.

Also this trip to Japan felt like it was a red flag for an accident. Who knows, maybe Sumin will get on an accident and that will make Sungji to forgive her and come back.

Agh, the ship is pretty much dead tbh. Reina liking Taki-sensei doesn't change anything, we know she's gonna get rekt'd, but what really got to me is Reina assuming that Kumiko's been sneaking out to go see Shuichi the whole time.
When they hiked up the mountain in season 1, Reina asking if her interest in the festival was related to 'Tsukamoto', and then smiling when Kumiko denied it was pretty ambiguous. On one hand, you could easily interpret it as ship fuel, that Reina is happy/relieved that it isn't about the guy, but on the other hand, it could be Reina smiling cus she thinks that Kumiko's 'denial' is cute

I don't think a couple of episodes of unrequired schoolgirl crush are enough to forget all the moments between KumiRei. Reina asking about Shuichi seems actually good to me regarding the ship, especially between these episodes of Taki-crushing. I don't think she is trying to push Kumiko with him. If it means anything, it could very well be mild jealousy.

Her reason for not allowing her in the band is a legitimate one, what annoyed people was the condescending attitude she showed when asked about it.

Her attitude was condescending, but this is not a reason to get disliked so much. Everyone has a bad side in them, and I prefer this instead of the naive moe type of characters we often see. Makes her feeel more realistic instead of cartoony.
I think some people are a bit sensitive in this particular type of attitude, it automatically makes Asuka the worst. I've been reading this for her during season 1 too. But I still don't see why she is so bad.
She just cares for the competition and music more. It's not bad to not get too involved in other people's drama.

Episode 3 more taki-sensei crap, please hurry up and break reina's crush so we can get more ReinaXKumiko. I did hear a rumour that kyotoani wanted yuri but the author of the light novel wanted the het so season 3 will be het out of the arse. :(

Nah I don't think this is true. KyoAni never said they want yuri. If they really want, they are not obligated to make it het, since this is their production.
It's just that the author was insisting about it being not yuri on the novels, not the anime.
I don't think this will be yuri anyway, but since they cut a lot of Shuichi moments so far, I think it might be open ending. Which I'd prefer instead of het.
Truth to be told, a lot of viewers watch this for Kumiko x Reina, even though the show has a lot of other good qualities. I think Kyoani knows that too. Also Ratings in episode 2 dropped lol. Wouldn't be suprised if that's because of the Taki plot lol.
Besides, that makes Reina's character seem silly. The way she acts about her crush is just making her look funny in a bad way. She doesn't have a chance with him anyway, and it's a turn off from her usual cool character.

Episode 3 was good. I don't know why some people say Asuka is a b!tch, she is one of my favorite characters. I liked the reason why she wouldn't allow Nozomi to enter again in the band. And I also like Kumiko, which is refreshing since I see a lot of bland main characters. She is a good leading character and keeps the story flowing, not a boring self insert.
Also it's interesting to see why Mizore actually hates Nozomi this much. Seems like some type of trauma.

At this point I think we should forget about the healling. This Dawoon thing makes Sungji and Sumin's relationship even more messed up tbh. Why if they want them to end up together they have to start off like that?
It makes me think that maybe they won't end up together in the end. Especially now that Dawoon gets a bit of solid backstory, besides being a faceless girl who used to have a crush on Sungji in highschool.

Dawoon's ex gf looks like a dark skinned version of Sungji. Also Sungji not answering to Dawoon's confession back then, reminded me a bit of Sumin keeping Seju around all these years too.

So is Izetta actually yuri? Or the usual friendship-borderline questionable relationship?
I was checking this season's anime and I saw a lot of stuff I didn't find interesting, but somehow I skipped this too. But now that I checked it, it is actutally quite interesting.
Besides the Hime x Witch parts, I like the setting and premise. Also the mc, which is nice since a lot of main characters plainly suck and are quite bland in general

How they would have sex then?

Loool. Maybe like lesbians do...Oh wait

Actually I lie. After School Nightmare (which is not porn, funnily enough) has a main character with a masculine body but female genitals, uterus, etc. and has periods. He starts out the series identifying as male although as you'd expect there's a lot of waffling over identity as the story goes on. It's a pretty good series

Maybe it's just me but I don't see futa girls the same as transgender or genderfluid characters. If the girls in futa identified as such it would make it different. But I think futa is presented as a more of a fetish thing.
Most probably everything we can imagine exists anyway, somewhere out there, the majority of it is still futa though.

I personally don't like futa. It's usually very hentai-sh in a not good way, and to be honest it doesn't feel like it's actual yuri. But that's my personal take on it, and I can see why some people like it though.
Funnily enough, I have never seen the male counterpart of futa. Like guys in yaoi having female genitals.

It's strange though that Seju hasn't done anything to get Sumin back. Is she really not scared of them making up soon? If her character development is consistent, I'm sure that she, this time, won't be only waiting for Sumin coming back to her by her own like before. She must be planning on something at least.

She has done actually. She already hitted on Sumin inside the elevator and crossed the line of Sumin's personal space. And did that after the cheating, which is really bad timing.
I don't even know how Seju would know about Dawoon. She isn't the FBI, how could she know what girl had a crush on Sungji back at highschool? Although it is not impossible but yes, I hope for one time it's not Seju again.

She hasn't appeared only in the past two chapters, it's not like it has been too long. Sometimes it's Sungji who doesn't appear, sometims it's Seju.
Back when Sumin went to that trip with Sungji, Seju hadn't appeared for a while too.

After this episode I lowkey ship Mizore and Nozomi. Also Mizore has now replaced Reina as the best kuudere in school.

I don't know how close Reina and Kumiko are shown to be in the novels, but wow, the way it's shown in the anime tho. They're really... intense friends sometimes

They are almost as close as they are in anime. All this yuribait is not just made up out of thin air. It is well based on the novels. Also in the novels at that bed scene they ended up interlocking their hands. In the anime they just high fived.
Only thing that is gayer from the anime is how indifferent Kumiko is to Shuichi. In the novels there are hints she is inerested but doesn't want to admit it.
Reina's crush on Taki is treated like a joke in this episode though. Makes no justice for her character tbh.

I feel like the author of the novels just wrote this as a way to prove that even the seemingly gayest girls are actually straight and it's just a phase. Well, that's the most frustrating thing of the novel. If you wanna go straight, good for you, great. Just don't try to pretend this is how straight friends act.

Well, it's only been one chapter, so not sure if we can already say Sungji has this dark side yet. I always thought that since we already have a pretty dark story from Sumin and Seju, Sungji would be different and bring some balance into this. If everyone turns up like that it would be a bit flat imo.
Although I understand that Sungji has been hurt, and since she was in love with Sumin, instinctively she might want to hurt Sumin like Sumin did to her. I just hope they don't bring another emotional blackmailing into the equation with Sungji too, and we get something good out of this.

As for the cover art, I really like it too. I also agree that Sumin and Seju seem a bit closer in these covers. They are a physically closer than Sumin and Sungji, which might be symbolic. Not only in this one with the black shirts, but the previous ones as well (http://ncdn.lezhin.com/v2/comics/1015/images/wide) Sumin and Seju were touching directly, while Sumin and Sungji had a bit of a distance between them. And that was the cover where Sumin was in the honeymoon phase of dating Sungji.

Who know, Team Gaji might be planning on destroying Sungji completely, and the endgame couple will be Sumin x Seju instead. That would be cool somehow.

That would be a bit silly way to do it tbh.
Also I don't get how Sungji showing a different face now makes her development a bit deeper. Her "dark" side came out of nowhere tbh, and it's obvious it's a plot device rather than natural flow of her character.
You can't just make a character seem almost angelic and then turn their character like this. But I won't jumb into conclusions, because this is only one chapter and it could very well be (probably is) just a bait.
Sungji goes on saying she doesn't want to break up with Sumin right away, seems like she might want to forgive her, yet she seems like she is vegentful when new girl shows up. Weird.
I think they should have introduced this part of Sungji a bit earlier, or give some hints if they wanted to take this route.

Making Sumin jealous to run after Sungji also makes Sumin's character seem a bit silly. Because first she gets jealous of Nami and Seju and that even leads to her sleeping with Seju, now same thing too? When she has already cheated. Doesn't make her character look any better.

But I don't believe this will be as shallow like that. Gaji is a decent author and this plot will probably have a better significance in later chapters.

The new girl felt like she popped out of nowhere tbh. I think they can develop their relationship better than just Sungji making Sumin jealous with a girl that conveniently appeared now.
Angsty, third people drama was already done in Seju's arc, I think they should use different techniques with Sungji, so it doesn't feel like they recycle same plots.

Seju cheats on Sumin, Sumin cheats on Sungi, Sungji cheats on Dawoon (or whatever her name is), Dawoon cheats on a 5th girl, 5th girl cheats on 6th, etc etc....

And this is when it all began.
Who would have known that Seju's cheating would not only mess up her fragile ex gf, but it would eventually lead to turning all Korea's queer women into crazy cheaters.

Yeah, they focus on Sungji, but couldn't you see that she doesn't look like a healer now? She seems to be capable of playing a psycho ex role better than Seju. :p

It's too early to clasify her as psycho. Gaji just does that to shock the readers and keep them interested of the possibilities.

I haven't personally read the novels, but I gathered some info about it from others. LN have finished now, and it's Shuuichi x Kumiko endgame. Reina confesses to Taki-sensei at some point and gets rejected. She stays single until the end.
But most important thing is how KyoAni has changed some subtle but very important details, which really point to the fact that they do Reina x Kumiko on purpose instead of the canon het ending.

Guess this is also why people call it yuribait. Because in the novels the girls are straight and the author has said so themself. But there are still some strong undertones anyway, although the author strongly denies anything more than friendship

Reina is probably infatuted with Taki-sensei because he is very good musician and she looks up to him. But her liking him doesn't mean she can't like Kumiko.
And, yuri goggles aside, her attraction to Kumiko seems stronger than for Taki-sensei.

Seriously, the last scene of the festival was extremely gay. It's funny cause I can read echii manga with straight face, and at that scene I felt embarassed about how gay it was. (not in a bad way) The hand holding was too long.
What Reina did when Shuichi ran by them was also interesting. I know she might be doing it to tease Kumiko, but what she said after "Spineless guys are no good" seemed as if she was saying "I'm not spineless like him, so I'm a better fit for Kumiko"

At this point, I'm sure we'll get more scenes like this. I don't think there will be ever any kiss or yuri confirmation, but I don't mind. Maybe an open ending. But even if there is actually an asspull for het ending, i don't care. We can always appreciate the journey despite the last stop.

Apparently KyoAni has changed a lot of important Shichi and Kumiko scenes, which is one sign there won't be an ending between them. In the novels, Kumiko gets frustrated about Shuichi not asking her on the festival, but they didn't add this in the anime now.

Heck, that's even the case for the two girls in my avatar. Although these two are kinda psychopathic but that's another matter.

cross ange made me cringe and its just the worst tbh and it kinda ruined nana mizuki for me.

That's the worst type of yuribait, really. I'm still hopeful for Hibike though.
Also another thing I really hate is when a good character gets paired with a bland one (maybe main character), just to become an ego booster for (some of) the viewers.

What I want to see in yuri, more than anything, is a believable basis for attraction.

I agree with this. I'm not saying they should make the gender unimportant either though. I just think it's better to create believable chemistry between the characters. And give some reasoning why the characters are attracted to each other, what the one person offers to the other on an emotional level, and how they grow together with their different personalities.
If the focus is based on the sexuality, this sometimes tends to get neglected. So we have stories with nothing more to offer besides the eye-candy, which to me personally gets boring after a while.
I know people here don't refer to stories that lack characterization. But on the other side, if the pairing has good enough development with no sexual development, then that's good enough reason to ship them as well. It doesn't make them simply friends if they don't don't anything sexual.

I believe Citrus has some basis to their relationship. We can see how Yuzu is attracted to Mei because of more reasons besides "just cause I found them both hot to draw, so I made them yuri- The author"
I wouldn't say the side characters in Citrus are bad, I just think the problem is they get disregarded quickly after they served their purpose. And I feel like this is due to the fact that maybe Saburuta doesn't know how to move the plot and story in general.

What kind of friends you ask? Japanese friends apparently, especially in manga, don't forget that when we question this kind of relationship we do that through our western perspective, because for us Kumiko and Rei just can't be anything else besides two friends in love with each other, but in japan? A lot of people still believe two girls can act super gay like that without any kind of romantic attraction at all and don't see Kumiko and Rei as anything but friends

I believe these people are in denial though lol. Heck, even if two girls are having sex, some people will still say they are straight and just experimenting, or do it for attention etc. But if guys do the same thing they are definetely gay. To be completely honest, i believe that a lot of these "straight" cases are just happy because they can do whatever they want and people will still call them straight.
