Oh, what a treat this was to find.

This manga really surprised me a few times with its mood. At first, it gave off really cold vibes, which made me a bit worried that it's how it would be. It especially fit considering how cheerful Matsuri was. Having this really cold bookstore owner and this cheerful high school girl. Now, that's partially what this story is about of course, but I just expected way more extreme... Uh... Coldness from our current miss Sunflower.
Luckily the mood really warmed up after just a few chapters, which I was glad for. Because this really turned out to be a warm read. The second thing that surprised me was how introspective it was... Introspective? I think that's the right word to use here. I expected a bit more of a typical slice-of-life manga, but instead, I got a very deep and emotional look at some of the characters' backstories and personalities. With the constant back and forth jumps between the past and the present, we can see the same characters in a different light and see how they got shaped to be the way they are "in the present". While I know it'll be a weird comparison, this reminded me a bit of "Haru and Midori". Just... Well... Less heavy? If that make sense? Being done with what's translated, I might re-read that one. Might be I remembered it all wrong.

Now, from what I understand the story is at least 3 volumes ahead of what's available here, but I'll still have to ask (and wait for future updates to get my answer) about how will it go for those two. So far the manga dances around the issue of Matsuri having to move on or going to college and all that. While I wouldn't expect a sad ending, for some reason I wouldn't be surprised to receive a bittersweet ending from this story? Oh well, hopefully, there'll be a good end for those two.

It had a theme it stuck with through the entire thing, even the ending, which I highly appreciate. Too many stories try to go for a theme and drop it or just use it when convenient. Even multi-chapter stories tend to make this mistake. Aside from that it was "the usual" but done great. Also considering that small picture on the last page, I'll consider that they got something going.

A sweet story with a consistent theme, a little bit of drama to stir things up, and a happy ending.

Well if the series was put to an end abruptly, that's a shame. The way it handled its "drama" and with all this background buildup with Lin's family, I was curious where it would go.

Was following it since the first chapter, but recently decided to re-read it, just to refresh myself on everything going on in this manga. I gotta say I forgot about quite a few things. Like this starting with Kurumi writing an ongoing piece that had a similar title to the manga itself. It was brought up once in the manga itself aside from the start, and considering how long it always takes between updates, it just slipped from my mind.
It also caught me off guard with how I remembered it. Like I remember it having drama, but re-reading it with the mindest of how those "Dramas" resolved, I couldn't really believe how "important" it felt at the time of those chapters being fresh. Because all their issues, aside from the crux of the plot, are very relatable stuff. Which might be why it felt so impactful at the time. Also why I consider this series to be so wholesome and nice to read, but without it being overly cotton-candy of a manga.
I also can't help but appreciate all those subtle metaphors that are in this, that comment on all the things happening in the manga itself. Some are less subtle than others, but noticing them is always fun.
Not to mention watching all those happy reactions from Ruriko whenever Kurumi does something nice or even as much as does something with her in mind. If Kurumi is a hamster, then Ruriko is definitely a doggo. It's just so precious.
Re-reading this really made me appreciate the plot, which seems simple, but it starts with both of them questioning both happiness and what marriage is, as well as changing self (or not being able to) and watching as they both try and change for one another. Not because they feel like they have to, but because they want to, since they see it makes the other (And themselves in the process) happier.
It made me think of this author's other work, and I should re-read that too.
Well, this ended up being longer than I wanted. But I just felt like letting it all out after re-reading it.

The last few chapters made me think of something. People usually joke about how you start your relationship backward from kissing or having sex and then dating. Those two started by marrying one another, and only now are they having dates and acting shy about it. Because of the way they act about this "bonding day" it's pretty much a "date night". It's pretty amazing.

I really had to adjust to this manga before I was able to fully enjoy it. All this over-the-top behavior was pretty overwhelming at first. Still, I like Ai as she has that charm about her. And of course, Misumi is precious.

Regarding chapter 23 I think they were in a tricky situation from the start. What's it called? Greek tragedy? Where you have to choose what's right or what's convenient and regardless of what you choose, you end up in a pickle. Although I think originally it was gods laws versus human laws or something like that. Well, whatever, they were boned no matter what they choose. Or what Ai would choose to do in this situation.
If anything, I'm sort of glad that Ai went out and admitted the whole thing. If anything, it fits in with her passionate way of expressing herself. This just proves she's passionate about her lil' goddess and not just because of her being "a goddess".

Huh, what a cute series this turned out to be. I thought I'd hate the protag just from the title alone, but I really grew fond of her. She really just wants to have people around her. To be fair I like all of them in their own unique way. It was such a comfy read.

Also while I would like for a certain girl to end up with Kasumi because of reasons and preferences, I really do hope that if this does get an ending at one point, it'll be the rest of the girls realizing what they had all along. Kasumi just being this yuri force of nature that made them realize how gay they really were.

Why did the title make you think that you would hate her? And did you just start this series? Also, I’m on the opposite end. I was hoping to that the series would get a little more extreme/direct since I haven’t ever really been able get my yuri harem fix lol? But yeah, this is really cutesy, which is fine. But I kind of want them to stop to stop beating around the bush. Oh, well. Hopefully, I’ll be able to go somewhere else for that one of these days.

Like I mentioned, it was just the title. It gave me arrogant vibes, and as we know our girl Kasumi is everything but arrogant.
Also is it really a harem? I think it would be poli at best. Since some of 'em like someone + Kasumi. Unless harem stuff can work that way.
Regardless, I don't mind. Harem or not, I would just hate to see any of those girls end up sad and alone. I like 'em too much for that

Now that's a beautiful example of friendship we should all learn from

I love how every chapter manages to have something unsettling about it. Even if it's just something small, it's always there.

Now that's depressing. Although I wouldn't mind "following" Hina to see just how she'd develop. It's that morbid curiosity.

I hope Pakee won't suffer for the sake of plot development in the future.

What a lewdly adorable story. Glad I stumbled upon this and decided to give it a chance.

Shoutout to yuri-nurse from chapter 7 and our beloved yuri-sempai.

Can't wait for more.

It sure was sudden. But can I find enough arguments to try and justify it? Sure, as such I accept this odd and sudden situation.
Still, they hit us with this unfulfilled love from the past, and now we're here with another girl. Nothing wrong with that, but they could at least show some more... Bonding? Like what they did in "Useless Princesses" with Izumi and Iroha. I bought that. Hell, I rooted for them more than the main pair in that series. Here though? It's just... Eh... Shrug and move on at best.

This is a great short story. My only complaint would be either leaving Hotei's feelings more ambiguous to match that of Ebisu, or making things a bit clearer at the end on Ebisu's side. But it's a minor complaint, one I can debunk myself by just saying how the difference is just playing along with the type of characters they are.

This series turned out to be lots more wholesome than I expected, considering the start of it. Also, I like Nagisa's character. She's dense in a few aspects, but it's not because of her being an airhead, just inexperienced when it comes to dealing with people, and it's amusing to see her try to go around that by doing research.

Still, dense or not, those two will end up marrying each other and still question just what kind of like they really have for each other huh...

This was a fun idea. Although I can see why it might have got canceled. It was trying a tiny bit too hard with the weirdness, especially for it being this early into the story.
