So, the last chapter was technically the LAST chapter of Kase-san and ... and now we have a NEW series of Yamada to Kase-san! AWESOME!!!! Yamada and Kase-san, the college years! No more when will they, other then just... you know... when will they fit it into their busy schedules... like normal busy students at schools that are 50 minutes apart! (That's almost like being in an LDR even if they're both in Tokyo! I mean, here in Central Illinois, if two kids who were dating were going to U of I and ISU they would be about that distance apart and in totally different towns and probably hardly ever see each other! Good public transportation makes a huge difference!)

Yeah, but up here in Chicago it's just a hop on the El or the bus, a walk, and then you're there! It'll still be 45+ minutes, but it's like that to get anywhere in the city. I imagine Tokyo is similar, since Kase can just drop in like she does at the end of chapter 6. That is to say, everyone would be in a long distance relationship here by that measure. I get it though, driving over 45 minutes in the burbs or around Bloomington is an endeavor and a half.

This one was surprisingly close to the original. The original mixed two metaphors (essentially combining yelp and facebook), so this one made a bit more sense and fit in the bubble.

In all seriousness, I think the reason this doesn't work is that it seems to throw two girls together, they fall deeply in love instantly, fall asleep without a single additional line, and then have one girl immediately forget that girl to fall deeply in love with the next girl the instant she wakes up.

It was my impression that this was the nature of the curse. The narration boxes on page 16, to me, seem to be the compulsion, or even description, of a curse. On the other hand, the first girl is powerless to stop the curse and somewhat apathetic as she delivers her lines about how it is what they both wish. Her love, much like the second girl when she realizes the third girl is already snared by the curse, is insincere or pitying.

Ah, and on page 20 the second girl says just that. It was the curse that set her heart aflutter, she says.

Though, if you didn't want to give the first woman a hug after she told that story, you may be lacking empathy.

Bingo. Criticizing these aspects means you just have a problem with the genre, kind of like reading fantasy and complaining when a dragon shows up. It's a bit absurd to critique match on the finer points of realism. That's not, and never was, her shtick, rather she has a very consistent, distinct style that's not for everyone. Rather than assuming her writing just sucks, ask yourself if it's just that you don't like the genre or her style.

A better critique would be of what's she's going for and how well she manages to accomplish that.

In the case of this oneshot, depressing as fuck is definitely needed. And no, it's no spoiler.

Again, please do not add these tags to this release because the entire story is built to hide both of these aspects as long as possible. The anthology is Avalon bitter and so you get the context the original readers did, no more.

Please do not tag this one with tragedy or depressing as that spoils the entire story, rendering the most important dramatic parts null (including all the painstaking steps the author takes that you only notice on a second read). Or ghosts.

It'd be much nicer if this chapter was one tankoubon instead; allowing the readers to familiarize and getting attached to the girls before killing them off for higher emotional impact, let the disappearance mystery linger longer to invite curiosity, let us see if the Doctor was really subconsciously in love with Hajime, etc.

While longer tankobons would be great for match's style, that's just not the way getting manga published works unfortunately. This series was also published in the het hentai magazine Comic ExE as part of their experimental yuri sections. For match to have a long series collected in a tankobon, she'd first have to get a series published in a stable anthology and have a realistic expectation of how long her series would run for.

match does not do much, if any, self publishing/doujinshi publishing and so doesn't have the freedom to have full creative control of her work (I might be dead wrong on this one though). Our theory is that she works in the medical field in some capacity, considering her works tend to be visceral and focused, bringing a lot of real details one would learn if they worked in a hospital. It seems she prefers to get her work published professionally.
