Oh for crying out loud! Spending two hours naming things they like about each other!? There are two things I need from a woman to make her perfect. She needs to get my jokes, and not kick me to the curb when I inevitably go into jerk mode.
First Nishio Shiori and now Mikanuji. What is up with manga writers imagining manga fans worshipping their favorite writers as gods?
It just dawned on me. A series where a manga writer is worshipped as a god, is Nishio Shiori maybe getting a little full of herself?
How dare you commit such sacrilege? Forgive them, Nishio-sama!
Oh no! Maybe you're right what happens if Nishio-sama smites all of yuri fandom for my trespass .
How do you do penance to a manga author god anyway? Maybe I'll have to accidently trip and fall on 5 girls inadvertantly grabbing their boobs. Then somehow become the hero of a mech battle despite having zero training or experience. That only works for mostly hey romances/harems to be honest.
Then I've got nothing.
relationships that cute and love-y dove-Y can't last. The stars that burn the hotest burn out the fastest. And that is both an insight on dating and an astronomy lesson. Your welcome.

I've reread chapters 28-30 and I've change my mind. BugDevil is completely right. My theory was a product of months between chapters and my revisionist memory. God I hate when a lesbian character steals the man of the girl she likes. That strategy makes zero sense to me. In the end no one wins.
In this scenario it was intended to be a sacrifice though. There was no other strategy involved than taking away the burden from Kaoru.
Wether the intentions are noble or self serving the results are the same. Kaoru is still heartbroken and alone. Risako is still alienated from the person she loves, and Reiichi is unwittingly dating someone who is treating him like a grenade to be jumped on. Everybody still loses.
Well I am glad that for once it was just a misunderstanding instead of one of your weird opinions and interpretations. I dont think I wanted to turn this topic into a longer discussion.
Funny I was thinking the same thing. About your opinions.

I agree with with your assessment, except I don't think Risako is in love with Kaoru I can see where that is coming from, but from a story stand point I don't think that's the case. This is supossedly a romance story, and no matter how messy a romance gets it suppose to have a happy ending. Reiichi is a good guy, if a bit dence he deserves a happy ending as well. So when the dust settles and Kaoru ends up with Uta, Risako is his happy endings. He obviously loves her but gave her up on her to be by Kaoru's side.

Who decided that romance is supposed to have a happy ending? That has never been a requirement, especially not paired with the
Dramatag.
There is no hard and fast rule that romances have to end well. However they are generally the story of two people's paths converging into one and that is generally considered a happy event. The drama and aaangst tags usually mean that those paths are meandering full of obstacles and sometimes even lost for a while.
And what you are really saying here is a bit callous... Risako is Reiichi's happy ending? But she doesn't love him. You are taking away her agency for an imaginary happy end.
I didn't mean it like that. Over the couple months it took for these chapters to come out I forgot details like the scene where Risako nurses Kaoru, or Risako admitting she didn't like Reiichi. I just remembered Risako getting to know Reiichi the accepting his feelings. I had built a mental picture that both Reiichi and Risako gave up on each other for there mutual love and concern for Kaoru. And once Kaoru found happiness with Uta then they would go back to each other.

Alrighty then... ignoring the scanlation war for now.
So back to my tri-monthly dive into this ocean of suffering. Honestly, waiting for 3 chapters at a time might be the only way to really feel like the pace is picking up. It actually feels very well paced when you read several chapters in a row. I always suspected that this manga is more of a "volume by volume" read anyway.
So we got Risako being jealous, which obviously was a subtle implication once again that she is actually gay for Kaoru. Kaoru thought Risako was jealous of her for having had Reiichi look after her in the past, but actually she is jealous of Reiichi for being able to be close to Kaoru so long.
As everyone already knew, Reiichi guilt tripped himself into marrying Kaoru, but he legitmately cares about her of course. He was the only one who actually came for her, when everyone else was fine being brushed off without reply (even Risako). I wonder what Uta was doing during that "empty" period?
Kaoru's extreme loneliness combined with trauma... it really is more like a mental illness at this point. She had a freaking panic attack for crying out loud. Reiichi is an idiot for not noticing anything. Uta is an idiot for doing all of this nonsense to get over her love and then just decides "I'll just keep loving her from a distance lol". That's the same mistake Risako made and it never helps either of them.
It's good that Uta at least had enough instinct to take the situation seriously unlike her dumb brother. It is quite telling that Kaoru would call her instead of Reiichi in the first place. She really is that outlet she has used since high-school. It's unhealthy. Now i just fear that another mistake will be commited in this horribly unstable situation.
My stomach hurts already....

Okay we just went through three chapters of back story covering Kaoru Risako and Reiichi's love triangle. Howevere there wasn't really anything to show there was something special about Kaoru and Uta's friendship. Uta was barely even mentioned. I kept thinking if Kaoru and Uta are going to end up together, this would be a good place to show that there relationship had deeper roots than Uta's first schoolgirl love and Kaoru's loneliness. So far I don't think this story qualifies for the romance tag. This isn't a criticism. I'm enjoying the story. It's just when you see the romance tag you expect well romance.

My question is: who sent the picture of Misa kissing Shino at the drinking party to Maya, and why?
Someone other than Misa obviously took the shot, but until Maya confronts Misa, nobody knows of Maya's interest in Shino.Furthermore, why would Misa be so insistent that Shino go drinking in the first place? She might just be one of those "everybody has to go--it'll be fun!" people, who just can't stand someone opting out of group socializing. But her (implicitly drunken) kissing suggests a specific interest in Shino (not necessarily sexual, but maybe some kind of "everybody has to like me-I'm a cuddle bunny!" trip).
Page 21, the guy/girl on the upper right of the phone screen.
Probably a selfie with the scene, like "Ey, this party is wild, yo. Wish you were here" kind of photos.
About Misa, well, she tried one of the most classic strategy of bullying, "make everyone my allies so I can isolate the person i hate (Maya)"The selfie taker is obviously a woman--in this story women have eyelashes, men don't. The hairline, too.
And I guess you're right--Maya is "popular" enough (since no one knows what she's really like until the reveal to Misa) that someone might conceivably randomly send a party picture.
The picture of the Misa-Shino kiss is an awfully convenient plot device, though, given the circumstances of what we know but nobody else in the story does.
Somebody could have just been posting pics of the office party on social media. That's how I took it anyway.
yeah, that part on page 11 was kinda confusing
I'm telling you Maya slept with the director to keep him away from Shino-san
I have to disagree
1/ Shino's into woman + pure mind + already have good position in the company. She has no reason to be in affair with the director even if he make a move. And Maya surely know about that
2/ Even if the director force his way in, Maya can just threaten him like what she did with MisaSo sleep with him to keep him away from Shino is just doesn't make sense.
P/S: In page 18, she's still calling it a "rumor" so i'm pretty sure she wasn't
Well first off you are right it was just a rumor my whole argument fell apart when I realised that the rumor started before p11. Second off Shino might be gay but she seems like a pushover, so Maya might be worried that she will cave under a "high pressure sales pitch" if you get my drift plus threatening a fellow office lady isn't in the same league as threatening the boss. And third I chalked Maya referring to it as a rumor because the rumor was what was giving her problems and not the act itself.
Like I said. This is all just academic. I was wrong after all. I just wanted you to know I thought about this stuff before I wrote my post. Kind of dumb when you think about I did all of that figuring just missed the simple timing of events.
I would agree except: p11. The problem is when Shino-chan is caught in his (The director's) radar what to do what to do, and p24. Besides everybody in the department already knows. The director even...
The second one is the most telling. I mean The director even what? Heard the rumor? That doesn't make sence. After all he would know the truth one way or the other. I think it was the director even admitted it. Meaning the rumor is true.Look, your explanation makes even less sense. Please think about this a little more.
Let's say for argument's sake that she slept with him. What would the line "Even the director knows" even mean then? The director already knows he slept with her? That's way more stupid than the director already knows about the rumor. You do understand that Misa was saying here that Maya already lost, because the rumor reached everywhere? The director now has to deal with that rumor and will be upset at Maya, that's what she is getting at here. There is no real evidence at all for Maya having slept with the director. The entire time she has been quite adept at deflecting every approach.
The rumor about the affair started before Maya's monolog on p11. So I guess you're right. However your logic is flawed. The quote from p24 is "The director even..." then Maya cut Misa off. MY WHOLE POINT WAS THAT "The director even knows about the rumor" DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
And your point about the director would be angry with Maya about the false rumor doesn't make sense either. Why would he be mad at Maya for a malicious rumor that someone obviously started to slander them both. So the only thing I could think of that made sence was "The director even admitted to the affair". Honestly even after a few rereads it still one of the few things I could think of that fits. I guess It also could have been "the director even had to resign".
Look I don't mind if you disagree with me, but at least thoroughly read my argument before attacking it.
Edit: I forgot1 to say hello BugDevil I've missed our little sparring matches. (Smirking evilly while stroking my cat... wait are you the supervillian or am i? Sigh alright alright let's start again from where I left off. Places people places. And action) I'm looking forward to matching wits once again this greatest PC warrior I've ever crossed paths with. Til we eat again.

Using kissing to transfer life energy is cheap and over used. Plus stealing life energy is way out of character for an angel. That's a vampire or a succubus's shtick.
That said it gets massive points because the angel/Alise was so cute. I could have done without the sexually charged make out... I mean energy stealing scene on the bed. The author couldn't seem to make there mind on whether Alise was the child she looked like, or an useless adult character trapped in a child's body.
yeah, that part on page 11 was kinda confusing

Okay I've read this twice, And I still can't figure the affair with the director thing out. Did Misa just start a rumor about an affair because she was jealous of all of the attention Maya was getting from the guys? Or did Maya actually sleep with director so he would leave Shin-chan alone?
I really hope it's the former. I really don't like plots where the lesbians seduce guys to keep them away from the girl the lesbian is crushing on.Basically:
Maya -> Acting airheaded and being fawned over by director
Misa -> Acting super friendly/bubbly to get guy's attentions
Guys -> Pay more attention to Maya than Misa, causing jealousy (implied by guys frequently asking Maya out as "her one")
Misa -> Starts rumors about Maya trying to make guys less interested in her
Misa -> Hangs out with Shino (no bad intentions)
Maya -> Gets jealous that Misa is hanging with Shino
Maya -> yandere modeMisa has no idea that Maya has any feelings for Shino and thinks Maya is basically trying to sleep/flirt her way up and is jealous (mostly because she wants to be fawned over instead)
I would agree except: p11. The problem is when Shino-chan is caught in his (The director's) radar what to do what to do, and p24. Besides everybody in the department already knows. The director even...

Thank you none and MZH I was able to put those two stories in my favorites.
Hehehe That was kind of awesome. Thank you Kodama Naoko.
I guess I'm an April fool because I didn't catch on until I read the comments.

Well that was a downer. There should be a bittersweat end or an unrequited love.

I'm looking for a few one shot I want to read again but I can't remember their names or tags.
A girl who makes friends with a rumored lesbian. She spends the story worrying what she will do if her friend confesses to her. In the end her friend comes out to the girl then offered to introduce the girl to the her girlfriend. Making the girl's sad.
A highschool girl hooks up with a housewife on board a ferry.
A girl is confused why her friend is making a scarf for an upperclassmen she has crush on. In the end the girl helps her friend deliver the scarf and in doing so realisies she as a crush on her friend
If anyone knows the names of these stories please post them for me.
EW EW EW! Vore is ssssssssooooooo gross!
have you heard about anal vore? it's not a punk band.
Yes and it's also gross. The only vore that doesn't make me have nightmares is pussy vore? And it's got nothing to do with getting eaten by a cat. I've also seen it called unbirth.
The way to an orgasm is communication, for everybody no matter what genders are involved. Letting you partner know what feels good and what doesn't is the key.

Now time for another johnb's totally 100% wrong prodictions.
This time it's going to be Maki who chickens out. Not able to pull the trigger when push comes to shove.I was thinking something similar, Maki will probably say some inconsequential thing like "hah I have to go to work tomorrow" but Midori will take it to heart and think that Maki will not take her away
this was an awesome chapter, I loved how Komari got the courage she needed and how Midori decided to try and live on the world she loves, she always wanted to escape, but couldn't she always invited Maki to take her away but Maki never believed it was for real maybe?
Yeah I hope we get to meet Komari again. And she will interduce Maki to her new girlfriend.
I agree with your assessment of Midori and Maki.
