Hey, so I submitted an image upload request and was wondering, was I supposed to upload it to a site like Imgur first and then put the link to that?

Any image host is fine, as long as it's on the internet it's plenty for us. We do get dozens of image requests per day and that's not my area, but if the person in charge of that wants to upload it and we get permission to do so, it should be up soon.

Ugh, I hate this lol, good job.

Also, with how the story is progressing, needs a Romance tag?

Heck yeah!

Anyone reading this will automatically know she's a female because of the clothing. Why? Because Japan. My reply to the OP in that post was to provide a counterpoint to call them out on how pointlessly condescending they were being.

Sorry, I don't really follow your reasoning there. However, I'll grant that person was being rude and have no issues with your reply to them. My response was perhaps less to you and more a general read of the thread, but I did quote you so to take offense is fair.

The cues you mention were still subtle and not necessarily telling - more clothing, and dudes can blush too. Yet you ignore the major male cues and reach the conclusion that she can only be female.

No, I didn't say that. The use of a negative is admittedly confusing, but I only took issue with those who are "convinced she is not a woman." One could be unsure of her gender and my statement would have nothing to do with them, I was pretty much in this uncertain camp till the end because I wasn't sure where the story was headed.

Then you go on to make a bunch of really condescending remarks about real people and their choices, concluding that this conversation is somehow oppressing the freedom of young females.

Apologies for the condescension, but I really don't mean to imply that anyone is being "oppressed" by forum comments. I imagine some comments here could make someone feel bad about themselves. That's it. I sought to add some context (both real and fictional, including in this story) to the conversation because I saw very little of it otherwise, and reading the same thing over and over isn't very fun. Doing it as aggressively as I did surely undercut that effort though, so it was stupid of me to do that.

If it will improve the quality of your world you can delete me.

Nah, I appreciate the discussion. Sorry that I don't have anything more interesting to say really, I understand why you reacted the way you did. Hopefully it's clear why I did too. Cheers.

The scenes in the panels are the same in the original Japanese version, the English version and the Spanish version.
Serina's line carries the same meaning in Japanese, English and Spanish (assuming it was correctly translated—which it was).
Since it's like this, any reader should be able to pick up on the funny side of that particular situation, whatever language they're reading it in.

Nene, in her comment, simply manifested her surprise at the fact that nobody in this forum seemed to have noticed the irony of that moment—or, if they noticed, to think it was worth mentioning.

Yeah, this is boring. Nothing to do with the manga, drives conversations into stupid territory. I don't really care that someone chose to post in Spanish, but for you to dance around their meaning here and drag out this irrelevant, boring conversation, is tiresome. You're clearly having some fun, but it's boring for everyone outside your clique. Don't do it again. Thanks, take care.

Edit: I've been told my tone was very poor. In hindsight, this is certainly true. The gist of my message stands, but I apologise for being untoward. That was completely unnecessary on my part.

Eh, if that's really your takeaway then my apologies, wasn't intended as such.

Edit: Though maybe this just demonstrates me being totally out of touch, as I'm slightly disturbed that a woman's personal presentation preferences would be construed as political in 2021.

Tehyar posted:

in a shocking unforeseen twist, yuri manga readers are stricken with confusion by the idea of a woman with really short hair

As opposed to labeling someone as a woman when the only identifying trait being presented is the wearing of a skirt? Nice try there.

Eh, she's drawn inconsistently, but you can clearly the see bump of her form on page 1, the skirt on page 3, a stereotypically "cute" blushing panel on page 3, her heels on page 8 along with the next line...Anyone reaching the end of this story convinced she's not a woman wasn't paying very careful attention.

Also, it's kind of boring when almost every comment is "Omg she really is a woman!" Like yeah, some people are naturally androgynous or adopt that look for their own reasons. Depending on region and generation, it's not remotely unusual to encounter them in your everyday life. In yuri of all places, I'd think we'd have been through enough "tomboy who isn't comfortable looking femme" storylines to not jump to conclusions that readily contradict available evidence. No wonder some younger women with those preferences feel so self-conscious, my goodness.

Please can you tell me where to read it or buy it? I couldn't find it :(

For some reason it doesn't show up in default search, but you may find it here on MangaDex. It's very dark and gruesome, though. Have fun.

Well I tried to emphasize it was my opinion that I personally think people caring about fictional anime and manga ages is pointless. People can do whatever they want and I'm not telling anyone to think a certain way. I'm simply stating my opinion on something I see people stress over nearly day in anime and manga communities for years, and I think there are far better things to worry about in the world. If people want to spend their time and emotional effort being concerned over the ages of stylized drawings then they can go for it, it simply doesn't make sense to me.

Also yes it's loosely BASED on the "social framework of our modern world" but it's also entirely a fictional stylized manga, where the author can make their own reality and changes to everything and anything within their fictional world.

Okay so we have a slight misunderstanding on what we are talking about here. I was talking about fiction in general when I said "stories within the social framework of our modern world", not this work in particular. I myself think this manga is just a silly gag based story, and said as much. Also I don't think people necessarily stress over it, sometimes a character's supposed age just takes them out of something to not keep reading. No need to be so condescending about it.

And with that said, let's drop the weird conversation. I haven't seen anyone in this thread terribly hung up on ages or getting fired up or anything, so...no need to talk about someone who isn't even here, for a manga that isn't this one. Can take that to the Cafe if either of you would like to continue, thank you.

I just read this for the first time and it was fun while it lasted... but rather than being mad at the ending I'm mostly confused... why did they move, actually? I was half expecting that Keiko reconciled with her ex-boyfriend or whatever, that would actually make some sense even if people wouldn't like it... but the author took time to explicitly show that this wasn't the case, so I'm absolutely clueless why would they both move if they both said they wish they stayed together longer.

Did I miss something at the end, am I just stupid?

Nope, you didn't miss anything. The ending just sorta happens. It's never explained, and none of the major plot points (that I can recall) weave into the ending or even get much resolution on their own. At the time, response was significantly negative, due to how it has this feeling of, "Well, I guess it's over??"
