Isn't it normal for characters to change and grow as time goes on, though? Usually involving the core premises of the series?

This, to me, is much more what the story was about than anything else, though I think you've only described the biggest lies. I really enjoyed the smoking rumours background story, which seems to illustrate this broader theme of mixing up lies and truth. By the end, it's difficult to tell where the lies started and where they end. Maybe, as pages 17 and 20 suggest, there was never any truth there to begin with.

Not having kept up with Earth Girls but being familiar with the other two, I'd say it's more like alternative history. Though we don't host any material quite in that genre - so I guess it's more of a sideshow tag? I would guess historical fantasy should get this and the Fantasy tag on it.

I really love the art, and the editing choices match it so perfectly, I'm impressed. Content-wise, random comparison that presumably nobody will get - Goodbye Geist by Ryo Hanada, in that it's another doujin I had to read slowly, or a few times, before it really started making sense. Cool story, but a big too vague, all things considered.

Also, don't really wanna add Subtext to this? But like, maybe I should. I dunno.

Well, long-distance works for some people much better than others. Without knowing their circumstances, it's impossible to say exactly what happened, but it wouldn't be unusual to take a year or two for school that they can't access in their own country, or pursue a long-term job assignment with the intent to reunite afterwards. It's unusual, and relationships often don't stand such drastic tests, but it's not unheard of, either.

It is, but the bump in traffic hasn't subsided. Given that MD is still restricting new entries, and a lot of folks have an issue with its UI (or general functionality), I assume a lot of people have chosen to stick around temporarily. Alternatively, maybe the uptick in traffic are completely new users who intend to stick around forever. We'll continue adjusting as the picture becomes clearer.

It's not just you. July was the most traffic the site has ever had by a considerable margin (around 20%), and August is looking much the same. While in-week performance is fine for most users, weekend performance (Friday-Sunday) lags considerably behind our expectations due to such extreme traffic. We expect this situation to begin improving in a few weeks as the summer boom dies down.

In the meantime, we're considering alternatives - like image optimization - to improve user experience. Any updates on this situation will be posted in the FAQ thread.

Well, I really love but I'm a bit conflicted with the end. This best situation is that takebe is asexual and it just wasn't addressed in detail. But part of me just cant help feeling like this was written by a straight guy who doesnt understand that there actual sexual attraction between gay people and just wanted to right a yuri story. Takebe didnt have a single feeling of sexual attraction the whole story, and Soramori`s came off as more obsession than anything. That's what happens when 90% of "yuri" in eastern media is just fetishized queer baiting. It breaks my poor queer heart if that's the case. Ace people just aren't represented nearly enough despite being 5% of the population. Either way, it was good and I'm optimistic in my mind!

I know three different ace people who recommended this for being very true to their experience - they're the entire reason I read it. So...I dunno, I think it's better to just take the good and roll with it, rather than go too much into things we really have no idea about.

I wish! She wouldn't be allowed to play cos teams have to declare their eligible players before each game, but it wouldn't be that strange for her to play well if she some exception was made. High school level has vast skill gaps between players, and the lack of women playing it just extends the gaps on that end. If she's naturally skilled and staying in good shape, she should do relatively well with minimal preparation.

Given how (relatively) focused Todo no Tsumari was (or even Noroi no Aoi-chan, I guess) on its main couple/plot, I do wonder if this isn't more of an editorial decision than authorial one. It was the editor in Tovarisch who really embraced that, as the extras in volume 2 or 3 disclose. With this series being a reboot, it may be the case that she's being pushed towards telling the story in this intertwined, inorganic way, for reasons like that. Even if it is completely her decision, the pressure to not retread old ground could also lead to strange outcomes.

I know I'm just being overly negative, but after a really nice stretch of storytelling through volume 2 this is getting tiresome. The side stories in volume 2 wove into the conflict naturally, filled their space and built on existing tension with purpose. Now volume 3 just feels directionless. Nothing tangible has happened since chapter 10, I think? We're still running in the same circles from that same conflict, and it's only the main couple dragging it out. Kind of a bummer. I really hope this is just padding and we can return to the good stuff again soon.
