Gods, that character is infuriating because she hits so close to RL.

Technically she called youth Women's intrinsic value with the possibility of also having other values like smarts, which she doesn't consider Makino to have any of

Yea, the artist seems to be even more into lip bites than Stjepan Šejić, but definitely not as skilled at making them look playful instead of borderline violent...

This is why you don't play games with your S.O.; why open your relationship up to yet another avenue for problems? Why add another thing to fight over?

Based. After just beating Kingdom Two Crowns over the weekend with my SO, I can relate to the characters in this manga quite well.

Also, I have seen situations like the one depicted here IRL, where one partner was super into wearing matching stuff, and the other was annoyed by it. After some counseling from friends, they figured out that the former was insecure about their relationship due to past trauma and needed constant visual affirmation that the relationship is real, while the latter perceived this as a controlling behavior (which it was) and an invasion of their privacy. As others have noted above, talking things out is the way to go.

I think Ruri's burnout has more to do with her having to shoulder leadership responsibilities that were previously split up among her and Miyako, as Nakajou does not seem like she is ready to carry the team at this moment. Ruri's friendship with Hatomori may give her a valuable outlet to vent stress, but I do not see them solving each other's workaholism problems.

Indeed. This is by no means limited to Japanese media, it's pretty much an universal rule and very much grounded in actual history.

That's true, but the Japanese culture has had a very particular history with Catholicism that underlies a lot of the quirks the latter is portrayed with in Japanese media. In other words, just because every culture has a complicated relationship with a global religion, one should not be dismissive of the history of a particular nation with that religion. :-)

Reading the last two chapters back to back really juxtaposes Ren Xing's pursuit of Hua Fang with Pei Yu's, of Liao. They are both quite forceful, but Hua Fang has already clearly rejected Ren Xing's advances, while Liao seems (intentionally?) too dense to realize how down bad for her her childhood friend and now boss is, prompting Pei Yu to drop increasingly transparent "hints" (if you can even call them that at this point).

love the conclusion of the chapter... it shows why people use armor and protect themselves from other, but also what you lose by never removing it...

Also shows that trauma is a not a pathology, but an adaptive survival mechanism that turns maladaptive over time, as the situation and the environment change, but the survival behaviors don't.

Her scale of tereru is all messed up.

May have something to do with the society around her inventing all kinds of complicated notions and rituals around kissing while neglecting all manners of other forms of intimacy. Hence, her brain can handle various forms of sexual and near-sexual exploration just fine, but a few certain areas are surrounded by so many preconceived notions that she enters analysis paralysis just trying to think about it.

Hmmm, I am wondering whether chapter 71 contained the change that Evie was sent to the past in enact in the first place? In original timeline of the series (i.e. Isekai Evie), Elsa was actually discouraged from developing her magical talents so as not to outshine Evie, who did not notice it, -- hence why they all die in the demon attack later. Here, Proud Mommy Evie has set Elsa on the path of the archmage from a very young age, meaning that all other things being equal, she is going to have zero trouble wiping out arbitrary numbers of demons in this altered timeline.

The weirder this gets the better. Like the actual stupidity of the plot points that Benika's pieced together is so next-level I hope it becomes real.

I mean, it really isn't that stupid at all. If you wouldn't know that they're opposing spies and only had the information they've both provided so far, this would be the only logical conclusion.

Now, the real question is: are the two spies professional and committed enough to actually "rekindle" a relationship for the sake maintaining their cover and their mission?
