I wonder if the "stretching scenes or repeating the obvious" is just a result of things being lost in translation, so to speak?

This was the end of volume 2. As far as I am aware, volume 8 is where the series stands right now, and is still going.

Don't recall if I've said it in here before and I'm too lazy to go look, but it seems to me that Shimamura was probably teased or had some other sort of social meanness done to her, maybe had a good friend turn on her or something, so her reaction was to basically pull back and become a social hermit. I think that was the point of her little backstory about how she was an outgoing and friendly kid; something happened in middle school that made her decide people suck and aren't worth the effort and she did a total 180.

Think that's why she comes over as so disengaged with Adachi, but still has the internal struggle about how to approach Adachi without making their relationship anything more than superficial. Of course she's failing at that, but at a much slower rate than Adachi the Super Gay. More or less, I don't think it's so much that she's apathetic as much as she's trying way too hard to keep Adachi at arm's length--and is failing super hard under the weight of just how adorably dorky and straightforward Adachi is about wanting to be closer.

Haha, no. She covets it as a precious treasure. She seemed to feel obligated to respond in kind when Shimamura spoke about how tasty the gifted tea was, so told a little white lie about how she'd been playing with the boomerang--but not in the way you're thinking.

Adachi is certainly on her way down the proverbial rabbit hole of gay, but I highly doubt, given her reaction to just thinking about boobs, that she has used her precious boomerang as a schlicking device.

IKR? It was such a deviation from the normal awkward dorkiness that we're used to so far. Nervous about sitting close, nervous about holding hands, wanting to be head-patted, freaking out about how to ask to hang out, typical G-rated fluffy baby lesbian stuff...

... then BAM! Why, hello there Shimamura's boobies! Sneikkimies was all "her thirst motivated me" when I commented about how quickly these two chapters were done compared to usual, and the moment I read it I understood fully, lol...

So I won't post an actual spoiler or anything because that would be wrong and mean. But I can't resist making a vague comment at least:

Gatdamn. So dang thirsty she could knock back half the Pacific in one gulp.

is this about the the next chapter or something further away?

After all it's Yuri manga, i'm almost sure becouse of some unexpected miracle Uta and Kaoru will find TRUE LOVE and idk they'll bang each other and they'll have kids or something like that. I assume.

IDK, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Kaoru only married Reiichi because she was actually subconsciously in love with Uta, but social pressures and heavily ignored feelings made her settle for the next best thing that also permitted her to keep close to Uta.

(I'm being facetious of course.)

Ugh, the feels. My first and strongest love was my best friend. I can't even begin to describe what kind of heartbroken agony it was having to love her that much, but keep my mouth shut and silently watch her marry, and eventually have kids. It's a hurt that leaves a nasty scar.

Yeah, the pacing of this is weird, and it's not obvious if things are in order or if there's some time skip hopping going on or something.

The somber mood of the last couple chapters seems to be made even moreso by virtue of the use of softer, less angular and carefree art style. I wonder if it's intentional or if the artist just decided to change for personal reasons.

This story has a panel that always, ALWAYS makes me giggle when I see it, and so it's my favorite:

"Hot pink fuck you", lol. I actually think of it when I'm angry at someone but can't express it.

I gotta say, I love how the subtleties of expression and realization are drawn. Like on page 12, bottom right panel, when she realizes that telling about her dream leads into telling about the kiss, so she's beet red for the rest of the story. Or my favorite, the entirety of page 17, where first she realizes with immediate shock what was meant by "the person I love", and the turn to the right with startled, hopeful disbelief immediately after. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Generally speaking the mods are good natured people, even when dealing with weirdos like me who have a seemingly endless supply of dad jokes and wretchedly bad puns..
