This is a fun one. One time I was crushing hard on this girl in my dance class. We texted back and forth and she eventually asked for help with some of the steps. We arranged to meet in the school gym in the evening, but the gym was closed early, so we danced on the gym rooftop under the moonlight

Embarrassing relevant story time: One time in a ballroom dance class I was taking, I paired up with someone, then somehow epically messed up the handhold and accidentally interlocked fingers. She was horrified at the improper hand-holding and avoided me the rest of the semester

My first instinct was to hate this story because Ai was so dumb/crazy that she didn't make a move for 10 years. But tbh, it's entirely possible she really doesn't know her feelings are reciprocated and she thinks she'll be rejected, so she just dates guys to try to hide it, while fantasizing just like Yuuko was.

In Hibike, Shuichi got his second scene ever (with actual lines) and Reina cockblocked him so hard, it was wonderful

There were some nice moments in this ep, it was at least pleasant seeing all the characters doing their their thing for the school festival, not sure where they're going with the older sister drama, or the Taki drama. I have to say that I found Kumiko holding onto Shuichi's shirt when the lights went out to be irritating and disrespectful to the [Kumiko's] character, and I would even if I wasn't rooting against them getting together.

"Traumatize" was a poor choice of words, I apologize (My mom throws that term around a lot). I mean when I was a young child I would have found being naked in a public facility, especially around people of the opposite sex, extremely embarrassing. What lowkey freaked me out was the author's note because I assumed he was female.

This story made me legitimately uncomfortable. No not because of the kid that was just silly, but because if I had had to do this when I was a small child, I would have been traumatized.

But if the queen loves the servant then why does she cheat on her with the succubus in the dream world? And who was that short haired girl that appeared in her place?

Gdi Reina no ew, Kumiko hasn't been sneaking off for that fuck, she's been advancing the plot for fuck's sake

Lmao. I find the Taki-crushing frankly ridiculous, though perhaps important just to inject a little more drama into the plot. Shuichi's continued inclusion is laughable. I mean just from a writing standpoint I don't think male characters really belong in this story outside of the teacher.

Episode 3 was good. I don't know why some people say Asuka is a b!tch, she is one of my favorite characters. I liked the reason why she wouldn't allow Nozomi to enter again in the band.

Her reason for not allowing her in the band is a legitimate one, what annoyed people was the condescending attitude she showed when asked about it.

And to put the icing on the cake Morishima Akiko has this "Guys who like Yuri will have trouble with woman" POV

Actually that depends upon appearance and confident. If a guy is confident and good looking, he will get women regardless of his personal preferences.

She's making fun of the stereotype that people who enjoy reading manga have poor social skills, not that enjoying a particular genre somehow makes you sexually repellent.

In my family, everyone hugs constantly, like several times throughout the day. I no longer initiate hugs with non-family members after bad experiences where I hugged people who weren't comfortable with it. Just thinking of wanting to hug people makes me feel guilty now.

Some detestable behavior here from MC, spying on a couple's intimate moment, then harassing and assaulting the boyfriend for no good reason. I know it's comedy but I hope people don't believe male yuri fans are like this. Truth be told though I have thought similarly to the way he did in his soliloquy before. There was a time that I was noticing a lot of straight couples that didn't seem to really be in love with each other, while my parents, who are married lesbians, I could definitively say do love each other. Ridiculous thought it may sound, this made me question for some time whether it was even possible for straight couples to have unconditional love for each other.

It's her job.

If she's rude to customers, word gets out and it's harder to get new requests.

I don't think she was particularly nice. She was professional.

There's something to be said for good customer service. It isn't ubiquitous even in prostitution. She did a pretty good job handling the situation and being nice.

So we had the "trends in behavior amongst children who've been subject to domestic violence" in chapter 2 and missing hymen now. This is more than foreshadowing

Most women have the majority of their hymenal tissue worn away by adolescence.

To those bewildered by how how dense Yagi is, I will say that people act like this in real life out of fear of rejection and low self-esteem. While one interpretation is that Yagi simply hasn't noticed at all that Mado-chan likes her, another is that she would like to think so, but doesn't want to get her hopes up in case she's wrong, so she internalizes the idea that Mado-chan only likes her as a friend.

Why would you skip the first episode? That aside, it's ambiguous currently. Might get cleared up later, might not

...I'd like to take a moment here to note that anime tends to make romantic pairings ambiguous in general, and the treatment of yuri isn't really all that unusual

Just happened to come across the second episode and watched it on whim. I'll watch the first one later. And I have to disagree with that aside. Romantic subtext is common in anime, but I can't think of a series where the DRIVING FORCE of the story is an obviously romantic relationship between a man and woman, yet it's somehow never 100% confirmed whether their relationship is romantic in nature at all. I can think of several yuri series that are like this.

^ Tbh I don't think we'll ever get a true clarification going forward since most yuri anime are made that way, mostly because Japan is terrible when it comes to accepting the idea that

A) Girls that like other girls actually exist, and
B) Their truly, and I can't stress this enough, archaic "class S" or "it's just a phase" mindset should be abolished.

Personally I wouldn't ponder on it too much and just roll with it being yuri; if the author doesn't go out of the way to say otherwise, just think of the lack-of-confirmation as an act "throwing a bone" to the sad ppl that refuse to change their mindset.

That's sooooooooo lame. Interestingly, I was telling my mother (who is a lesbian) about Class S and how some people in Japan still believe that lesbianism is just a phase, and she didn't believe me; she found it too ridiculous to accept.

Could someone clarify for me whether the protagonists in Izetta are supposed to like each other romantically or not? I think so but it almost seemed like the writers deliberately made it unclear. Or I'm just seeing what I want to see.
