Is the series as grim as Madoka? I find myself put off watching that, knowing what's ahead. Maybe I'm a big wuss that way, but that's how I approach stuff like this.

The first half or so is mostly just unnerving. Once the other shoe finally drops it does start getting there, though

To be honest, you won't miss much. The sol parts are cute and fun, but the major attraction for the show was the trippy fighting scenes and the ep 1 plot twist.

A better show to watch would be Ore Twintail ni Narimasu (if you want silliness that is).

I watched up until the ep they destroyed those 5 vertexes and then were trying to get info about their disabilities from the place they work for... so i didnt just watch a couple eps and then compared it.

I dont think anyone has said that the series sucks, so you two just need to calm down and stop sounding like people are attacking you personally. ^_^ I thought it was clever how they pulled the rug out from out expectations in the first ep. I was laughing about it and telling my best friend about how great the show was because of the Madoka similarities.

That one sure feels almost yuri though. I sometimes think the only reason MC is male is to keep saying "white stuff". And probably blush and giggle while doing it.

I agree that gay until graduation trope needs to be buried and forgotten... It really really irritates me. You don't play with someones emotions like that (if you're a decent person anyway) and then be like "Oh sorry, I gotta get married to this dude now, bye!"

Witchcraft Works would have been way more fun as a yuri show. They could have just changed white stuff to pink stuff and it would still have worked.

Yeah it did have a harem feel in that respect lol.

They didn't kiss or confess love for each other (that I remember), but it was pretty obvious without yuri goggles... so maybe obvious is a better word choice than confirmed.

What's with the Vividred credits?...........I know the Vividred director was the same from Strike witches but I didn't find any connection here...hmm...

Probably not yuri but maybe you should throw in a subtext tag just in case. This is a spin-off so that tag is fine, the anime is half accion/mahou shoujo and half slice of life there's "break time" just like strike witches and vivdred operation we can't have cute girls fighting a full season after all gotta have those awesome character interactions!

It's more like 25% SOL lol.

I like Vividred better for a cute girls doing badass things show... Yuki Yuna is too all over the place, it's like Madoka Magica with a split personality disorder :P And besides, Vividred has a confirmed yuri couple in it.

The anime trolls you. It pretends to be a slice of life, then halfway through the first ep it turns into Madoka... then by the 5th ep (I think) it turns into SOL again... AND THEN it turns into Madoka again during the next ep. xD

I think this is more of the SOL part of the series... so it's not the manga version of the anime.
