I'm tempted to be a contrarian and theorize about Ange just wanting to exorcize her friend's ghost to let her rest at peace, but the fact that one of the seals is on her directly, and we see it light back up on her eye when the seal is restored, makes non-evil explanations pretty unlikely. Hard to imagine what Aizawa could have done to attract such a dedicated hatred that even her existing as a ghost is no good for the thing presumably possessing Ange. Maybe she was a sacrifice in some ritual and being a ghost means she wasn't fully "burned" as an offering? Random guess but dang I'm gonna look sooo smart if it turns out to be right lol

This is a really good mature psychological drama, tied to the kind of mid rich and famous yuri format that is for some reason incredibly common in Chinese comics. It still averages very positive but I'd sure like it more if they just had regular jobs lol

I really don't think Mitsuki is that dense, she's just got major self esteem issues. Remember what she thought the fallout would be if she told Aya who she was at the beginning of the comic? She's been slowly coming out of her shell but you can tell from how she reacted to Aya saying Mitsuki should publicize her song that she still thinks very negatively, especially when she's imagining how other people will react to her.

The main retcon we've got is still Seo's actions I think. She pivoted on giving up trying to be good so hard she went back in time and worked with Komachi to do a terrorism on the school. The ending of the most recent chapter makes it seem like we're just moving past that without addressing it, too. Backstory time is over, next is action/drama/tragedy time.

So I rest my case: it's not that abnormal that there was not any more ruckus or inquiries about her coming back, given the cultural background of Japan and their reluctance to infringe on privacy of people. She's an adult, case closed.

I'm so glad there are people like you and Gabinomicon who get it.
There's a crowd out there who don't get it at all. Even tho we explained it so many times.

Sure, we get that this is a story based on magic where everyone just ignores the magic. No need to congratulate yourself about it.

Lol well that's certainly not what I was talking about. I was just baffled by people arguing over if she's 14 or if she's 21 when the fact that she's both depending on the context is basically the whole plot of the manga right now.

"Let's have a serious important talk later, no I will not specify the subject ahead of time" aight I'm fully team anti-Koto now lol. I actually laughed out loud when in that later conversation she says her main concern is not wanting Aya to be anxious considering how classic and infamous "We need to talk about something important but not right now" is as an anxiety trigger.

Wow they recreated a famous scene from another Chinese yuri, Seele and Bronya from Honkai Impact 3rd when they're separated in their childhood. :P Partially kidding but the similarities are very striking

What a... unique manga. Lol. It's a little too random for my tastes, though.

Clearly you need friends with better taste in reading material, lol. Personally I've been shouting this comic from the rooftops to anyone I know who reads queer fiction online and off.

Dunno why people are thinking Aya does not realize what her feelings for Mitsuki are, the "Can I think Koga-san likes me? No, no way, way, no way, but still" on page 4 pretty unambiguously conveys she's thrilled at the idea of Mitsuki liking her romantically and is trying not to get her hopes up while still being very excited at the thought regardless. Aya knows what she's feeling and what she wants, lol. She'd kinda given up on Mitsuki liking her back after the big romantic rock performance that climaxed with "will you be my friend" but now she's over the moon at the thought that things might move in that direction instead of continuing platonically.
If anyone doesn't fully realize what she's feeling yet, it's Mitsuki. But we're getting some major hints of evolution from her now :3

This series was okay, but I liked the author's previous manga "Crescent Moon and Doughnuts" a lot more. A big part of that was that Crescent Moon and Doughnuts treats asexuality as something that should be discussed and navigated, whereas here it's what our two "friend" protagonists silently default to, and that's a very common and very annoying pattern. It's not just old yuri manga: to this day it's still really common in depictions of lesbians, and there's still a cohort of really annoying people online who will accuse any media with lesbians expressing physical desire or having sexual feelings as "pandering to men" or even straight up being "media for men".
This manga fits into what that group would want and does it silently, whereas Crescent Moon specifically treats that as not a norm but rather something to be navigated. Personally I don't like it when any romance that treats any part of a relationship as something with a default you can just have without addressing it first, and that goes double for queer media. I hate all those unigender settings in GL and BL where nobody even needs to consider if the person they like is gay or not. Burn down every private all girls school in manga imo.

Now that I think of it, I can't think of another series that has that family dynamic (besides maybe I'm in Love with the Villainess)? Unless someone has recommendations?

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat has some pretty strong found family themes, especially in the latest English volume.

I haven't read that one yet. I'll look into it. It seems hard to find those especially involving a family with children. The only one that I know of that has this and actually spends time with this dynamic is the one I mentioned in the spoiler.

Two best yuri manga for families with two moms and children imo: Days of Love at Seagull Villa, and Ohana Holoholo. Both have the kids involved right out the gate as something one of the main characters is bringing with her into the relationship. Days of Love is very fluffy and cozy, Ohana Holoholo will make you earn the fluff by suffering with the characters through their trials and tribulations. It's worth it though, very worth it. :)

I could see Nadeshiko picking up on that implication and intervening on Jun's behalf, wanting her to get to be happy as well with all three of them. Her saying she doesn't want to share earlier has basically been her most human moment so far, and evolving on that and demonstrating clearly that she values someone isn't her mother or owner would actually be a really good conclusion to her arc as a character.

2 things:
- He admitted it in front of a full class after Kaye called him out, I want to see what sort of BS the author contrives to make none of this matter
- Would Kaye being a transmigrator do anything about the supposed "reincarnation of the Demon Lord"? A foreign soul that's not related, maybe it can't actually manifest if so?

I mean he's actively doing magic on the whole room, but also he seems to be going for broke no matter the consequences for some reason, as if there's some kind of time pressure?

Honestly, with AI being where it is right now, the "can robots have feelings" debate is actually pretty important to be having. I mean, people are already in the present day getting deeply emotionally attached to chatbots. Personally, if I started having romantic feelings for a robot it would prompt a deep existential crisis...

Nadeshiko and similar androids have been in fiction forever but we're not really any closer to them being real. The current crop of "AI" isn't remotely like a thinking feeling consciousness, it's all just a bunch of glorified filters, and it takes up way more space than a human body does. State of the art is basically 1% of the thinking and 10,000% of the size, lol. I would be genuinely very surprised if a Nadeshiko could be made within my lifetime. So I don't think the silly sex comedy manga is actually relevant to today's issues lol

I'm not sure why Mei pushed Karin away so much this chapter. She hasn't come across as particularly uncomfortable with physical acts, more overly excited by them and eager to go with the flow? Trying to fit it in the context it would imply she's at some point become uncomfortable with Karin specifically, and yet she told her she loves her and made those promises of support and oral. It's hard to tell what Mei is thinking here.

The art of Aya and Mitsuki dancing in the winter that the author made for this pop-up store ad is soooo cute. https://twitter.com/agu_knzm/status/1766054753140879431

I'm guessing the "fine" is a kinda dumb fakeout for Satsuki wanting to not invalidate Komachi's feelings and reasons, so rather than just going "you can't do that suicide is bad" she's going to try to convince her "I get where you're coming from but I assure you I'll stay by your side forever bb you're worth it let's make out"

...I may have gotten slightly off track in that prediction. Anyway Satsuki is gonna reenact the famous "no don't kill yourself you're so pretty haha" meme and thus get a happy ending

People are arguing past each other on the issue of what problems Aya is facing and I have no idea why. She is legally 21, that's an explicitly established fact by the interview scene. She is physically and mentally 14, as established by things like how strangers assume her age and how she reacted when Koto brought up the implication of girlfriends sharing a bed.
Both of those things are true, you don't have to pick one and deny the other. Aya is mentally and physically 14, yet it's not possible for her to live as a 14 year old due to her legal age. This is a pretty damn big dilemma the author has put her in and you're not gonna solve it by yelling hard enough at strangers on the Internet lol.

Also Erika has done absolutely nothing worth criticizing her over, she's only human, and a very well realized and sympathetic human to boot. I definitely would not trust people can't sympathetize with Erika to decide Ayas fate lol (and this category might include Koto, we'll see...)

Apparently, school must be in an LGBT+ or lesbian area of specific big city or midsized city. See current chapter. Everyone is now Lesbian.

They just aren't showing the straights (except for that one token girl). We've got a cast of, what, 20? It's too many for me to bother going to count but not too many that it's unrealistic considering there's a whole school around them. Plenty of background mob heteros going about their day and not getting screen time because they're inherently boring lol

Lapis has shown less than zero romantic interest in Diana, viewing her strictly as a tool. Ergo, there's nothing poly about this, you just want to see a harem ending

If Natori ends up with Lapis and Diana, that's poly, even if Lapis and Diana don't touch each other.

the F it is. The modern, sex-positive conception of poly requires equality. If you're going to be with multiple people, those people also have the right to be with multiple people. One person having multiple wives who are monogamous to them is not progressive. It's abusive, and extremely regressive, like, "Islamic harem" regressive, and absolutely disgusting and vile. In the most literal sense, you might be correct being that Islamic harems are called polygamy so it is ""poly"", but the casual sense of poly used by fans of sexual liberation should not be conflated with that antiquated, gross practice.

You should probably know this "Islamic harem" term you keep throwing around is a bigoted myth, fyi. There's technically a rule in Sharia that allows for it but basically only if there's a desperate shortage of husbands lol. It's not a common thing at all in any context and definitely should not be your example of harmful polygyny. Muhammad's wife Khadija was an older previously married and very successful and famous businesswoman who basically wore the pants in that relationship and made sure women got a bunch of explicit rights and protections in his writing.

To me this chapter reinforces the idea that, for Xingyuan, Tianli did have confused feelings, which were partially responsible for this mess--especially when she's framed as a kind of foil to Xiaoen, a romantic partner. I'd even say it was her, back then. She was already Xingyuan's confidant but wanted to be more, though she didn't know what more meant. She's still unsure of why she was and still is so concerned with Xingyuan's company. She knows her feelings for Xingyuan are unique compared to her feelings for others, yet can't fully put it together. It's unfortunate for her.

She's one step down a path of self discovery she would have needed to do years ago, back in middle school, for her to have had a chance. Even now she either can't or refuses to name the flavor of feeling she has. She channeled it into spiteful jealousy back then and it's permanently corrupted.
That feels like it's a high demand for a child, especially a potentially queer child, except Xianyuan did it at that age, so Tianli was always doomed due to her inability to meet that pace.

I think you can read it either way.

Biggest evidence that sister is just in love with the GF and wants her for herself is the way she curls her fingers upwards in the earlier part of the teasing dialogue, to prepare for handholding.

But the last page does really read to me as bitter about the relationship. But it doesn't make sense for her to be this bitter when she's already making out with the girl she likes. That makes me think it could be about the brother.

To be fair, I'd be bitter if the girl I want is dating my brother. Could want more than sneaky makeout sessions.

This is exactly how I read it. Obviously she's not actually thinking they should break up for the sake of her brother, if that was her interest she'd be talking to him instead. She wants more than a fling behind someone else's back, she wants the girlfriend to be her girlfriend. She's like Fuuko in "My Girlfriend's Not Here Today". :)
