The editing work is absolutely incredible.
And the manga well deserves it. ♡

We need more stories like this one, to make people realize that Liz from Liberty and Kaoru from VE are not so bad after all.

I seem to notice a trend in some of Aweida's works... she loves to put three girls in a situation where two of them do something that appears outrageous and the third one reacts as the deadpan voice of common sense.

Works pretty well, I must say.

"Waitaminute! I call bs on you! This is not masturbation! You're having SEX!"

I love that girl, she gives the best tsukkomi.

Thanks for replying, btw. I was sure that no one would care about a random comment on this show at all XD

Hehe, I am the one person in the forum who had to reply no matter what.
I mean, look at my avatar. :P

Okay, so

I just finished Revolutionary Girl Utena (anime) recently

Good for you. My favorite anime, perhaps ex aequo with Sailor Moon.

and there were a couple of things that I just had to share somewhere:

  1. Why did Anthy people keep getting SLAPPED!? It was so funny that at some point I was watching it just for that XD

I guess it reinforced Anthy's image as a defenseless tragic victim who needed a prince to protect her from bullies?
If only those bullies had known who they were really messing with, right? >:)

  1. What IN THE WORLD was Mickey doing with that TIMER!? (Also, why was he called Mickey, I just couldn't take him seriously lol)

His Japanese name is Miki. I assume the subtitlers went with Mickey?

  1. Why were there so many creepy brother-and-sister relationships!?

Chiho Saito is into incest. Big time. If you have never read her manga Kanon, go here for a plot summary. You'll find how big her incest fetish can really be.

  1. I really liked Utena's (japanese) voice. The way it sounded kind of boy-ish and cool and immature at the same time... Idk, I just couldn't get enough of it.

There's a funny story about that: when Tomoko Kawakami tried for the role, she had absolutely no idea what the anime was about... and so she read the part in her best "random cute sporty girl who is kinda naive" voice. To her surprise, everyone loved it and she got the job.

The show definitely had its share of problems plot-wise (quite a large share, for that matter...), it often got a bit repetitive and there was actually a whole arc where I never really got what was going on... Oh, and the filler episodes were the absolute worst I've ever seen.

Imho SKU had some of the best filler episodes ever, lol. Episode 33 for example is infamous because, when the show was first aired, a lot of people missed it: as soon as they found it was a recap ep, they turned off the tv and didn't bother watching it. Because, y'know, recaps are boring, right?
Later they found it was the all-important, crucial, world-changing episode where Akio and Utena finally had sex and Utena lost her virginity and they wanted to kill themselves for missing that, lmao.

But it was GAY enough, and that's what matters :D (jokes aside, I did enjoy it for the most part, it wasn't watching it only for the gay)

I'm actually planning to watch the movie as well, even though I read that it isn't exactly a sequel... Aaaand I've probably already dedicated way too much of my time on this mess of a show..... Oh well

Mess??? What mess!? Best show ever!

And the movie is great, too. It's a retelling, not a sequel -- an original version of the story with many different twists. Also it has a most satisfactory ending where Utena and Anthy don't get separated: they face the trials together, escape the academy together and, in the last scene, celebrate their victory with a passionate kiss of love.

PS. Almost forgot to mention something I really wanted to talk about. I just can't not talk about that line in the last episode, where Himemiya said,
"You can never be my prince. Because you're a girl."

I just burst out laughing when she said that XD
The fact that we had, like, 38 episodes of Utena saying she'll be a prince or whatever and then just... Damn, Himemiya can be pretty savage, huh? lol
Her greatest line by far XD

Well, it's not like Anthy didn't have reasons to think that. Utena had repeatedly failed all the qualifying tests in the last arc of the show. She did keep trying, but, at that point of things, Anthy didn't believe in her anymore.

Good thing that, against all odds, she got through in the end, huh? That's the POWER OF LOVE for you! XD

As of course the "problem" chapter was very funny too! thank you!

Just to check if everyone got the same idea as I did: the answer to the question "Where does Kyouko wants to go right now?" is "The toilet!" -- and that explains all the fidgeting she was doing. Is that it?

... This is a world where males have gone extinct, isn't it?
I mean, even the mainstream romance movies are girl x girl movies.

Reading this story made me think of that song "What Keeps Mankind Alive" (and I guess the Threepenny Opera in general): when you're well-fed and comfortable, you can afford qualms and morals that the starving and destitute cannot.

Ayaka is defined by her hard work in her attempts to better her material position. She's applying the same effort to finding a wealthy man as she is in school and in her actual job (her self-help dating guides are right next to her pile of economics textbooks). To her, the three things are all part of her goal of leaving poverty behind. But Mitsuki sees Ayaka openly using sex appeal for material gain, a bourgeois taboo, and judges her very harshly. She never even considers that Ayaka's situation might be different than her own, and certainly never tries to put herself in Ayaka's position and see things from her point of view.

Also, I think it's interesting that Ayaka decides to cut Mitsuki out of her life after spending the night at her house. She meets Mitsuki's doting mother, eats Mitsuki's delicious food, and sees Mitsuki's spacious and comfortable home, all the while comparing Mitsuki's good fortune to her own poverty. And then at the end of the night, Mitsuki rubs it in. Mitsuki isn't interested in guys because she doesn't have to be. She says she's just going along with Ayaka for fun. For Ayaka, it's not fun, it's work. Ayaka can't afford to be uninterested in guys. Going to these parties and forcing herself to get along with assholes so that she can find a rich man to marry is like a second job for her. I think Mitsuki's response here insults her, and perhaps this is when she realizes or begins to suspect Mitsuki's contempt for her.

I doubt there are many people in the forum like you who can accurately find the points in common between Die Dreigroschenoper and this manga. Color me impressed. I would quote here the "a person of culture as well" meme if it hadn't been overused to death, haha.

I think your interpretation is spot on. It's kind of tragic how Mitsuki is persuaded she has maneuvered things so well and scored some good points with Ayaka by taking her home for dinner and a sleepover, when in fact that night she has mocked and insulted Ayaka without even realizing it -- and even made her decide to cut all ties with Mitsuki. Thank goodness for a happy ending (to some extent, at least) where Mitsuki starts to savvy the errors in her judgment and the problems with her prejudices.

Newsflash: the whole school had realized since long ago that Chika is in love with Saki.

Chika was the only one unaware.

Maybe Takano is the husband, it would explain why she's so often at Kanade's house and why we never see the Husband on screen

Actually we saw the husband two times, in chapters 1 and 3 iirc.

He's just some normal guy.

I do admit, mind you, that he plays such a tiny itsy-bitsy minuscule part in Kanade's life that he might as well be a nonexistent entity.

I agree. In both the mc is a girl who never before even imagined the possibility of going out with another girl, but then found that, indeed, it is a valid option... and now gets nervous and dokidoki every time she's around her best friend and totally doesn't know how to handle it, hehehe.

So precious. ♥

Here's the epilogue in Spanish:

https://lectortmo.com/viewer/79dff6571603dfc299119fad560a66db/cascade

"¡De veras, de veritas!" XDD Ese traductor ha visto demasiadas veces el Chavo del Ocho.

The part about Aya's hymen was completely unexpected. These two made love so many times, and did so many sexual things together, but it would appear Aya had never let Sei take her virginity -- that is, break her hymen. She was saving that for a time when she would be certain Yoru was forgotten and Sei was hers and hers alone. It took two years...

Take a look at the index. Look at chapter 9.

Instead of Kanade, the accompanying picture shows Takano-sensei in the middle of playing the role of a masochistic bottom. And the title is: "Let's grant students' dreams!"

What a considerate lady Takano-sensei is! Who hasn't ever dreamed of beating the tar out of a teacher who didn't give you a passing grade?

Fufu, such a treat, can't wait.

There's been a small confusion, methinks.

Chapter 2 of Superstar Rivalry has been uploaded as chapter 16 of Universe's Most Jealous Goddess.

Chapter 16 of Universe's Most Jealous Goddess has been uploaded as chapter 2 of Superstar Rivalry.

Basically, the two new chapters that were just uploaded got mixed up.

In page 26, Ueno changes into her normal clothes and she's wearing pants no matter how I look at it.

In page 27, the pants suddenly transformed into a long skirt?

Either it's a slight continuity mistake by Ohsawa Yayoi-sensei or I'm missing something.

What are the chances that Nanase was talking about Fuuko when she told Yuni about her middle school crush?

Imho zero. From what we've been shown so far, Fuuko's character is completely different.

That "middle school crush" anecdote is just a plot gimmick, a sob story the author made up to soften the bad impression Nanase is making on the readers with her milk-and-water approach to dating Yuni. The author doesn't want everyone to start rooting for Fuuko, at least not yet.
