I honestly don't see this as a bad ending. I think all or almost all adolescent loves have to end, and it's rare for one to end in such a way that gives somebody so much insight. She learned her own sexual orientation, about love, about loss, and about how love can hurt people in unintentional ways.

It's definitely not a bad ending. A sad one because both Eriko and Nako both got hurt so much in the process, but not a bad one, for either of them, because both seem to have made sense of their hurt and grown from it. Well, Eriko definitely did, since we don't see Nako's side of the story so much.

So, ah, is anyone else starting to get REALLY bothered by how pushy Ren's being? There's a line between pursuing the person you like and just having no respect for their boundaries, which Ren doesn't seem to have. The fact that she's doing it right after Hua Fang had an issue with a stalking makes the whole thing even worse.

Yea, I wrote a while back that Ren Xing's storyline was more interesting than the MCs', but now I find it slightly annoying. On the other hand, Liaoliao and Pei Yu's romance is such a slow burn, it's still the less interesting one of the two, so for now, my only motivation to keep reading is a hope that it will get better (read: Liaoliao's arc picks up the pace and Ren Xing faces some real consequences) at some later point...

"I can fix her" <<< "i can accept her for the messy bitch that she is"

They're both messy bitches but in a sort of complementary way and I absolutely need more of this.

Genuine romance between messed-up people is the best kind of romance fiction, and that's a hill I'm ready to die on.

So the high and mighty Lapis-sama has finally revealed a weakness. Will it be enough for her to grow and to turn away from a path self-destruction? Let's wait and see...

To be fair to the chapter, it shows the magic defenses aren't all they're cracked up to be (or someone snuck it in) and shows what it means that Evie is vulnerable to possession just like her mother.

Which, in turn, supports the speculation that the "villainess system" is just a particularly insidious mare.

On the one hand, this chapter has made it canon that a) a secret catgirl aphrodisiac smuggling ring operates on the premises of the Smollet estate and b) Linda and Rose are at least colleagues with benefits.

On the other, this is the first chapter of the time-travel arc that actually feels like filler content to me.

Chinese escape room ain't nothin' to fuck wit', holy shit.

What you said. Unless it's just the author embellishing the real thing a lot?

Megumi's mother getting even more terrible with this chapter. Who the fuck calls their kid a parasite for being 2min late going back home from the library???

A person who was not emotionally mature enough to raise kids but got them anyway because society demanded it of them without offering adequate support after the birth?

Props to everyone who called Utena's rampage corrupting Magenta's La Verita after the last chapter. While it is not as poignant as Magenta turning out to be a self-suppressing pervy domme, the fact that Utena's residual power in her manifested like that at all means that it's probably not far off from her real La Verita, which we will definitely see before this is over.

Yup, underwhelming. The ending tries to be profound, but does not really say anything about anything. My guess is that it got abruptly axed like so many action yuri series, and the author wrote the first ending that came to their mind...

Edit: I'm also pretty sure Seo contacted Komachi to ask her to sacrifice herself to stop the explosion or something, given Komachi's absolute lack of attachment to living. Idk, I just don't think Komachi would go along with a request to blow up the classroom if there were any conflicting requests whatsoever. And Seo definitely doesn't want to literally kill everyone in the classroom. A bad person? Maybe, but not "I will literally blow up my classroom" levels. She's probably caught on to Komachi's behavior again by now and figures that this is the best solution.

It would help to know whether Satsuki has visited the classroom after Seo and Komachi's dialogue: if your theory is correct, she would only see Komachi's corpse instead of everyone else's.

So, Seo is conspiring with Komachi to blow up her classroom, while at the same time the Prez is trying to kill her off before that happens, so Satsuki is too distracted to save her, so she cannot be there in time to save her class? I realize that the Japanese high school is the most interesting and intense place in the entire world (Manga-land), but this is some spy novel-level of gambit pileup...

On the bright side, it warmed my heart to see Satsuki use the proper firefighter door breach technique. Never smash doors with your shoulders, people, or you'll break your collar bone. Human legs are capable of applying much more force and are a lot more durable.

Mngh . . . . why didn't anybody give Seo a pair of scissors?
I mean, it probably wouldn't do great against an extension cord, but at least she could've done something more to save herself . . . . especially since it was actually her tie.

Maybe they did not want to place another potential hazard near her? There is a reason people are told not to run with scissors.

At this point they could probably call the police on prez.

It will be three witnesses against two, without any video evidence. Would be tough, but manageable if the teacher backs them up. On the downside, I think they are going to have a lot more trouble with the exploding classroom than with the Prez at the moment, giving him just enough time to clean up any remaining evidence.

I quite like the unmasked Rose. Not just her appearance but also her mannerisms have changed, but she is now more authentic to herself, I guess? The question is, will Benika fall in love with this version of Rose, too?

This still feels like an unhealthy relationship, but what I said before applies: grudging respect for Ayaka.

Word. Once upon a time, I wanted Ayaka to end up with Risa, but have since come to realize that if she wants to give her life and feelings to someone like Hiroko, it's only proper that she gets what she wished for. :-)

I wanna know how Suzunomiya-san walks through doors with that hair.

Sideways, obvs.

Mr. Righteous holy man is under the impression that his agent won. As far as knows, Rosa and Shirafune are already dead. Why is he randomly revealing that he intends to murder Benika???? Even if that is his plan, why announce it?

Not won, just captured the rosary. The explosive is there to mop up any remaining evidence and witnesses.

Poor Yoroizuka, Kurumi is practically throwing herself at her, without stopping to think that she is still underage (I think?).

Well shit, Chitose is just an old, socially isolated person desperately years for human connection. She is so old, she is out of touch with the world, yet also has superpowers that make her lacking understanding dangerous to others and appear to literally hold the entire town back in a time that Chitose can still comprehend. That last page is basically dead giveaway: an older person mistaking you for your similar looking grandparent because she's forgotten what year it is...

Oof. "Not as bad as I feared and expected" is the best I can say about this ending. -__-

and seems depressingly like Keyyan speaking through the characters. A lot of this chapter felt like that.

Yup, that's what I felt, too. I have no idea of how and why this manga got axed, so I am talking right out of my ass here, but if I had to spin a narrative about a mangaka receiving an offer to draw a story they've always wanted to tell in a popular magazine, before getting pounded by external setbacks until the manga is finally axed before getting anywhere near a proper resolution, that mangaka's emotional arc would go very much like Haru an Hii-chan's.

^ I must say, I would have really preferred not to read that. Not entirely sure why you're seeing so many of those images, or how it's relevant to the comic at hand (...I struggle to imagine a fork was involved).

I have had an... interesting childhood in a not so nice part of the world at a very crappy point in time.

(Ch. 37 edit)
Okay, what the actual fuck.

Yup, there goes my trauma again. :-)

You're right Father. They aren't.

This line goes hard.

I also like the double meaning there, depending on whether the "f" is capitalized or not. :-)

I know this chapter is supposed to be a serious one, but that final panel of the dad getting a fork and knife shoved down his throat is too damn funny

I have seen one too many postmortem pictures of folks whose teeth were ripped out as part of torture to be as comfortable with that panel.

"I started showcasing all my bad sides to her..."

No, Natori, you have privately shown vulnerability to a person who cares deeply about you (and is in denial of this fact).

Those two sure are cooperative with each other for all that they are working for opposing factions ^^;

It's mostly because they are both scared shitless of Rose.

Being Father Shirafune is suffering. :-(
