This one is more faithful to the events and slower pacing of the LN. The new version rearranges some things and goes faster, I wonder if at some point it will overtake where we are in the LN.

Well to be fair the LN existed before the manga. This version is the one that got canceled so it won't follow them through the entirety of their journey. The new version being released, however, presumably will.

Ah, I apologize, I misunderstood. Even so, what I prattled on about sort of includes that as well--variety in expressing the same thing holds the reader's interest better. :)

In general Japanese folks are a lot more reserved about PDA, and that often also applies within the home. So it doesn't surprise me at all that being caught "sweet talking" to the husband seemed to fluster both of them for a moment. I'm also not surprised that the circumstances behind their romance had never really been discussed till then, considering that this seems to be the first time that romance has been on the mind.

You don't. A variance both in word use and word count within a sentence is what helps to keep something interesting to us. It reads as unprofessional, or insincere, or just flat and shallow if you repeat things frequently. That very thing is what frustrated me so much with the Wheel of Time series; I found myself mentally sighing and saying "Uuuugh, STOP with the sniffing and skirt-straightening, WE GET IT for Pete's sake.".

I don't mean to be rude, but could you please cover the names that haven't been revealed yet with a spoiler tag? Just so others can decide if they want to avoid them or not. I get where you're coming from, but big or small, spoilers are spoilers, and it kinda sucks to run into them by accident.

Sure, that's fair. I did go back and spoiler tag my original post. However, unfortunately, it was quoted by another poster, so it's still visible unless that person or an admin steps in to edit it.

^ Just because it was asked. It's not a huge spoiler or anything. I know some of the real spoilers, names aren't them. We've only just started volume 3, and we're at volume 8 and going right now, so plenty of other things to look forward to. :P

Yeah, it's always "last name, first name" when it comes to Japanese naming convention. So Adachi, Shimamura, Hino, Nagafuji, Chikama, those are all what westerners would call "last names" or "surnames".

I still don't think "Hougetsu" fits Shimamura, as far as how it's said. The meaning fits I suppose, but it doesn't sound like it fits her, to me. lol

Other three? You mean, Adachi, Hino and Nagafuji? If so, these are their names...
Adachi Sakura, Hino Akira, Nagafuji Taeko.

For all the characters:

安達 桜 - Adachi Sakura

Been a long time since I've met a character so awkward and clumsy as Adachi...

And yeah, Shimamura is slowly starting to acknowledge things, and through that is also admitting that it makes her happy, so that's nice.

No, clearly she is suffering from an acute case of heart-eye-tis. The only known cure is lots of smoochin'.

Well, the "pain" she's referring to is more "what a pain in the ass, this is bothersome" not "ow ow ow". Though I have no doubt she's dealt with something pretty legit emotionally painful at some point.
