So much going on in this chapter, it's even more confusing than usual... So we learn that Mitsuki is not good at studying, or at least worse at it than even Aya. Aya is self-conscious as usual, and then the twins and even her mom confuse Mitsuki for a guy, as well. Haven't they already met her? If not, it's still strange, since Mitsuki does not even present herself as particularly masculine here, apart from wearing a shirt (which isn't all that gender-specific, anyway, I think?). Also, we have a undercurrent of Mitsuki getting lost in thought every time the graduation exam is brought up, and by Aya's reaction, I assume it has something to do with her decision of whether to move the States or not. Lots to untangle...

Why is it here? Putting aside all the genre-tag business which may or not turn out the way you think it will, this story is here because it’s a fun story with cute characters, unusual and evocative art, and sweet interactions among the cast.

Not every story is designed to meet your individual emotional needs. It’s possible to just read a story for what’s actually on the page and not obsess about what other people say about it.

What Blastaar said.

So, bets on whether she passes out just before they get anywhere.

The probability of an event in a yuri webcomic resulting in an actual, meaningful relationship progress is given by following mathematical expression:

P[Progress]_c,U = ( 1 + exp(4 - c / U) ) ^ -1

Where c is the index of the chapter/strip where the event takes place and U is a series-specific Uselessness Constant representing the relative denseness of the characters involved. U can be arbitrarily large and empirically hovers around 30 in this case.

What. Boxcutters aren't meant for stabbing, you'd barely do any damage from that. And gut wounds are notorious for taking ages to kill. That's possibly the least effective way to try to murder someone

You have a point on the box-cutters, but as for the gut wound, I am pretty sure she wanted the Prez and the Vice-Prez to suffer for a while first.

DID THEY FUCK?

No, the clothes fell on the ground on their own while they were talking about art. /s

Don't you hate it when that happens? Here you are, trying to have a profound conversation about aesthetic ideals with your hot crush, and your clothes just. Won't. Stay. On.

Angry Narcissist Mom doesn't realize she has just set up her daughter's love life for good. It's funny and yet sad how wholeheartedly she believes that Makino will come crawling back to her, when, in fact, she has just put a big fat X on her entire plans for her. My only concern is that angry narcissists usually cause a lot of harm because admitting they were wrong is more terrifying to them than a capital offense.

The MC is not going to survive at this rate

Yup, her fate is spontaneous human combustion.

I am guessing the point the old sensei is trying to get over to Haro is that in order to draw better nudes (specifically, to pass the Tokyo exam with them), he has to learn to draw other things, as well, first. Not sure how much of it is transferable across domains, but in my own industry, in order to become a better programmer in a particular language or framework, you have to become proficient with a few others, gaining a mental map of the general possibility space, rather than only what is possible in the environment of your choice.

I am not sure, has Hayakawa actually ever express any romantic interest in Mizuki at all? Memory is fuzzy, but wasn't she mostly like "Sure, sure, let's see how things shake out after you've graduated"?

Chapter 71 spoilers
Man, I wish Satsuki punched her out instead of slapping her, it would've been been so much more satisfying.

Yup, the psycho deserved much worse than a slap. A few missing front teeth wouldn't kill her, is all I am saying.

Very cosy vibe to this chapter (and the series in general).

"Cosy" was the word I was looking for to describe this chapter, thank you!

Alternative chapter title: "How Baiser got her mojo back". I think the Dark Magenta arc will culminate in a threesome between her, Sulphur, and Baiser, forcing her to openly admit her feelings for Sulphur and to purge the residual lust left behind by Berserk Baiser. Maybe the latter part will make Baiser even stronger?

huh, always thought vena was a guy for some reason

I thought they were genderless blobs of magic.

Ditto.

Utena when Vena is obviously plotting something:
Yeah, whatever don't care
Utena when she thinks that Vena has a solution to get a magical girl to do magical girl things:

Priorities. :-)

This was big mood. I am the B type in this case, and I cannot even count the number of types an A friend has gotten me into a game that I've mastered only to discover that they have quietly quit it months ago...

So Hiyori-san basically said "You can date my daughter, but keep it PG until she turns 18."

Mom's a fox

Literally a kitsune spirit in a human body.

Chapter 70 is not yet up on Dynasty as I am typing this, so I'll just use a spoiler tag... Welp, it seems like the plot wants to paint Seo as this Keikaku Doori-type villain who hid her true intentions even in her inner monologue, but I am not really buying it so far. Also, no sympathy for President Blockhead, he got what was coming for him.

The honorifics they use in this arc seem to imply that Ren is older than Youji, but I thought they were about the same age? Or is it just to indicate the status gap between a "musical genius" and a first-year student, and not an age gap?

I know they explained it but the rules of the cardgame still confuse me

doesn't matter, they kissed

The card game was nothing but a convenient setup for the MCs to kiss in way such they can deny any relationship progress later on. :-)

Needs the Introspective tag. We've basically got the girl's whole life story in the span of a few seconds.

"I decide who wins."

That is the point where you punch her.

Pretty much. Going back on your word because you lost disqualifies you from having any kind of say in anything.

Aww they're both thinking of each other... not knowing that they're still together, even in the otherworld where they reincarnated.

Thinking about each other while they drift off to sleep... I am beginning to suspect they might have been, you know, best friends.

I honestly don't see this as a bad ending. I think all or almost all adolescent loves have to end, and it's rare for one to end in such a way that gives somebody so much insight. She learned her own sexual orientation, about love, about loss, and about how love can hurt people in unintentional ways.

It's definitely not a bad ending. A sad one because both Eriko and Nako both got hurt so much in the process, but not a bad one, for either of them, because both seem to have made sense of their hurt and grown from it. Well, Eriko definitely did, since we don't see Nako's side of the story so much.

So, ah, is anyone else starting to get REALLY bothered by how pushy Ren's being? There's a line between pursuing the person you like and just having no respect for their boundaries, which Ren doesn't seem to have. The fact that she's doing it right after Hua Fang had an issue with a stalking makes the whole thing even worse.

Yea, I wrote a while back that Ren Xing's storyline was more interesting than the MCs', but now I find it slightly annoying. On the other hand, Liaoliao and Pei Yu's romance is such a slow burn, it's still the less interesting one of the two, so for now, my only motivation to keep reading is a hope that it will get better (read: Liaoliao's arc picks up the pace and Ren Xing faces some real consequences) at some later point...
