isn't tachibanakan triangle like.. a love triangle instead of a harem?

No. The title is a lie. True, the main romantic focus is on the two characters closest to her in age, but all of the other women she lives with seem pretty interested in fucking her.

I liked this. If it had just kept going on another 20 chapters or whatever with nothing really changing, I would've kept reading.

I think the anime was quite good. Obviously the ending won't be as satisfying, that's true for anything cut down like that. That's simply the nature of anime adaptations—the vast majority of them are 12 episodes long and can't cover anything close to the whole story.

Also, I agree Sasamaki Koto is too long. That's probably the main reason I've never reread this. It's not the length itself, it's that it feels padded with pointless nonsense. Aoi Hana is longer than this (and probably too long as well), but it feels shorter to read because it keeps up something resembling momentum.

This is a very nice story though, with some excellent humor, and quite a few endearing characters.

Oh, that's right! Cross Ange had a couple yuri harems in it (or maybe just one that is transferable upon death).

It's kind of like any harem manga tbh
If you make Kanna a dude, it's just a plain duplicate of the harem genre. The title is Demons Harem so I hardly expect anything

I don't see a harem manga where the mc is a girl that often, heck i can't even mention one title, unless you could suggest me some names other than those mentioned above i'd be glad since this is kinda my taste. as for anime i'm sure there isn't even one show with yuri harem.

Tachibana-kan Triangle is a yuri harem manga and anime.

I can already see the entire afterlife starting a civil war when Kanna dies.

Bad End:
"Kanna's dead!"
Demons: "Yeeees!"
God: "She lived such a pure life, she'll go to Heaven, where she'll live in purity and innocence, frolicking above the quiet meadows of paradise ..."
Demons: "Noooooo!"

Kanna: "Wait, wait, wait! What about the hot demon sex that I was promised in my afterlife? Hey?! Listen! Nooo...."

Nah, her reward will be getting pampered by all beautiful angles in Heaven instead.

Plus she's helped out Goddesses before, so girls probably going to cause another Heaven/Hell war again. :v

That brings up some odd theological questions. This is a world where Youkai, Shinto Kami, what appear to be Buddhist demons, and all sorts of other things coexist with the Judeo-Christian Hell and Heavenly Host. From what we've seen, some people clearly end up in hell. But with all those other spirits and gods around, that implies that those systems are also valid, so some people must end up reincarnating, or watching over their descendants as a guardian spirit.

Is there some kind of divine hierarchy where people are channeled towards different afterlives via a bureaucratic process? Do Adonai and Satan and Amaterasu and, I dunno, Hades and Odin all participate in the same organization and work together in dealing with mortal souls? Or do the various divinities' systems compete? For all we know, Kanna's habit of being kind to Kami and spirits might color her as an idolator and damn her to hell despite her pure soul. Or maybe she'll end up in a Buddhist or Shinto afterlife.

Clearly, the author needs to write more so as to explain how all this stuff works.

I won't be surprised if somehow the friends already knew about these two but chose not to reveal.

When I first started reading this, I thought that would be the case. But now, I just can't imagine those three goofballs being able to contain their glee and keep their knowledge secret. If they knew, they'd be way too excited to resist teasing Chidori and Nanoha, or just pestering them with questions.

I think it's a little odd that Samael, the angel of destruction, and Belphegor, one of the princes of hell, have been demoted to such petty roles. Asmodeus is the same rank as Belphegor, but the way they're presented here Asmodeus way outranks her.

How recent do you think it's actually been, though? Because when Mist says new beastkin girl, does that mean there was an old one? That got discarded? Aged?

On a serious note, the only thing that flat out actually bothers me about all of this is the collar and the implications behind it. D:

Pretty sure when she saws 新しい獣人の子 she just means "new beastkin girl" in a descriptive sense (ie "the beastkin girl that you recently acquired"), not "new beastkin girl" in a comparative sense.

Master knows Mel's clothing size by tactile memory? How much has she touched and held Mel to be able to do that?

probably A LOT

This kind of thing makes me wonder how much of the doujin version is cannon in this version.

Agreed. Itou Hachi knows enough to prioritize the important aspects of story-telling.

There are no abuses on screen, you mean. I recall one of the doujins was about Mel almost being kidnapped.
But yeah, I also got creeped the hell out when the author made that school background story for Mel, with implications of selective breeding. Specially since it seemed the author's intentions was to make Mel look more adorable.

The kidnapping appeared to be just a random occurrence, not really related to her species. Some bystanders talked about how kids were being kidnapped, and they should look out for their children. That's not really what I'm talking about.

But now that I think about it, if you include the doujins, then some of the shit her master pulls would certainly be considered abusive if it happened in real life.

Anyways, I'm fine with it, it's just a story, and it's cute. It's just kind of funny to think about. It's even funnier when you consider, like you said, that it seems like the whole dormitory thing was written with a complete lack of awareness of how it looks.

Child slavery is not cute.

Mel is not a slave.

Mel certainly seems to be willing, and we saw that nobody told her to do any work until she requested it.

However, the whole situation with the beastkin is either deliberately creepy or hilariously tone-deaf. They're raised in a very strict school and taught basic work skills from a young age. Then, while still children (12 or so) they're "adopted" by someone who they refer to as their master.

More than anything else, this sounds like something similar to slavery. The way the governments of the US, Canada, and Australia forced native families to send their children to dormitories so they could learn how to behave like proper civilized folk, and be taught their subservient roles in society, comes to mind.

Maybe not all beastkin are treated this way, but these are orphaned girls, and maybe all orphanages in this world operate this way, not just the ones for beastkin. Maybe the organization has very strict standards for potential "masters" to make sure none of them will abuse their wards (and they'd probably have to do continuing check-ins as well).

Maybe, through whatever means, this whole system we've seen somehow makes sense in Itou Hachi's world. There are no abuses, and all beastkin are well-treated and happy. I'm perfectly willing to accept that. We haven't been given very much information, and the story is cute. But it doesn't change the fact that what we've been presented so far looks very much like they're a subservient race whose lives are controlled by humans, who are free to use them for their own purposes.

Complete fluff huh.

Oh that was cute, I hope they start dating

Haven't they already been doing that since the beginning of this manga? I'm not sure what those big, in-your-face narrative blocks are for if they're not.

I kind of assumed that was the joke, but 3 people have responded seriously so far so I'm starting to doubt myself

Well, that was something. Not really bad, just not exactly my thing. I feel like the author could've played some things up a bit and it would have been pretty funny. As is, it's just kind of sad, but not really that sad.

"The real thing"... it lacks the cultural context here.

She meant it was Honmei choco.

Well, yeah. I thought the implications were pretty clear though: in speculating about Chidori's chocolate, Nanoha recalls all the effort she put into preparing chocolate herself and realizes her own feelings. It'd be fairly unpleasant to read if I left it as "they're... honmei" and put "TL: honmei choco refers to Valentine's Day chocolate that a girl gives as an indication of romantic love rather than out of friendship or obligation" at the bottom.

Some things just don't translate cleanly. This way "the real thing" can refer both to the chocolate and to her feelings. Not a perfect solution, but it gets the point across, sounds more or less natural, and, most importantly, it fits in the bubbles.

It wasn't inmediately... We just explained this...

Even if it isn't literally immediately (and yes, I could tell from that one panel some amount of time must've passed) it was still obviously very soon. Look how awkward they are around each other! They clearly are not comfortable being in the other's company, which to me indicates that this all happened very fast. And that one line "Even if I call it 'going out' it feels like we're just living together" confirms that impression.

I'm still convinced that they moved in together too soon.

So she asked her out, and then they just started living together immediately afterwards. But judging by he reactions to the underwear, have they just not even fucked yet? I'm not usually one to judge, but if you're living with your girlfriend before you've even had sex, then you've probably moved in together too soon.

This story really didn't work for me. can't put it into the words. the whole, guess I'll start drinking was kinda off putting too. Not that I'm against drinking or anything. Just the way it was used in this story made it seem like a flimsy plot device.

I think the drinking worked partly as a metaphor. Junna clearly has some issues with overthinking things and hiding her feelings, and this is manifested in her reflexive refusal to drink even when she actually wants to. So at the end when she says she's willing to get a drink with Mayumi, it shows that she's grown enough as a person to be more open and honest with her feelings.

This works more literally too of course, because alcohol is seen as a way to relax and overcome your inhibitions. So by agreeing to get a drink with Mayumi, she's indicating both implicitly and explicitly that she is willing to open up.

That was my impression too.

This chapter's 10 pages long like the others, and they're all there. What's missing?

It's Lezhin, someone's getting raped no ifs ands or buts, and it is probably the author's bank account.

Maybe that's why Maison de Maid ended early. No rape scenes.

In "White Angels Have No Wings", every sex scene is a rape scene, so definitely avoid that one.
