Depends on how far it'll get in the LN, but I see no indication of it stopping early for now. Although I would certainly not call it subtext in any case, at least Adachi's feelings were pretty clear even in the previous adaptation, Shimamura may still need a bit of time to get over her denial.

The near constant panty shots in this manga have been pretty distracting but maybe giving a panty shot to the 6 year old is going too far.

Pretty sure it's not the first time, I remember someone already complaining about this earlier. Ah, on this very page, even.

The choice of panties makes it more of an amusing scene here, though.

Didn't expect any less from this author. I do consider this a happy ending, though, all things considered.

I can't really take anything in this series as a definitive sign of an end since there has never really been a goal for the series to reach. There's not big confession to work towards, no need to define their relationship - we have been told as much by the characters themselves. It's just following their lives wherever they might lead them, from meeting in high school to college, to their working lives after this.
