I'll repeat what I said earlier, we are all being played and we willingly come back each and every chapter waiting patiently for any hint of Yuri. it is funny that people are getting pissed off because they are being played. atter 19 chapters, it's not like you haven't been warned.

what's even more funny is this... if you think about it, Higashiyama-san is basically thumbing his nose to all those critics and nay-sayers that dogged him for tracing. he is showing that he is both a terrific artist and really good story-teller tracing be damned. simply put, he has created a new series that at the very least (on this site) is approaching cult-like status without the 'realistic' look and feel. i'm pretty sure it won't happen, but depending on the sucess of this series at conclusion, I hope he is allowed to continue Prism (tracing be damned!)

speaking of Harumin, never mind that she got bad vibes from Matsuri, I think she knows something is up between Yuzu and Mei and is basically playing the role of Yuzu's guardian angel.

as for Matsuri, now that her character has introduced the forced misunderstanding between Yuzu and Mei, how many chapters must we endure the angst? and how will Mei react? more coldly towards Yuzu or does it cause her (Mei) to go all caveman (forcible kiss) on Yuzu when they are at home? I'm guessing here, but I think we get 2 more chapters of this madness before Mei goes from ice queen to club wielding caveman (eeeeerrrrm... cave woman).

I actually kinda get this story. lots of things make us lash out at our partner or have stupid non-sensical arguments that weeks or even months later, no one remembers what it was about. in this case, it wasn't about donuts. i think it was about not being paid attention to (http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/bittersweet_donuts#4). as to the make-up at the end, the blonde character (while hurt), made an effort to "fix" the situation. that was sweet.

everyone may disagree with me, but (to me) the story is clumsy and resolves itself straight out of left field (i.e. illogically). however, it does highlight how stupid little arguments get blown out of porpotion.

ya know, I was always a little miffed by the ending of KKL. it just seems a bit rushed and compartmentalized. more so, all the little boxes fell neatly into place in the end. even the characters ended up mostly unscathed. Hiroko may have been the biggest causualty, but even that was "sanitized?" to a point which seemed out of place given all the confusion in the last chapters. blech! that's just me I guess...

yup. so agree with you RandomReader. Next question would be if there is enough of an audience to make it worthwhile for a producer and distributor. I would think so given that it belongs to a niche genre and that there are so few Yuri-related animes being released (currently and in general).

now to me, I would be veeeeery interested in who licensed it and the production studio they use. cuz it would piss me off to no end if the final product were a half-assed attempt!

but you are correct, this whole story goes beyond shallow and superficial. some of the premise might seem unrealistic, but it is more realistic than most of the other stories plus it keeps the reader cheering for Ebisu-san and Hotei-san. Now what irks me about the end is that it feels like (to me mind you) Hotei-san ended up more like a nanny/house wife. this is part of the charm of the story, but it's so unfulfilling and too nebulous of an ending. Now mind you, that's just my gripe. the story is still lovely and always puts me in a good mood. I just wish it had a more concrete ending. but again, that's me.

Oooooh, I don't know which of her stories I like better. this one, Dream at dawn, for the simple flowing story or Encore, for the amazing use of symbolism...

I just remember that maybe this manga's title Laika may refer to the first animal on space, the dog Laika, then Pavlov

when I referenced Wikipedia, it stated that Laika, in addition to being the first animal in space is also Russian for barker. it makes sense that it's part of the title given that Koro was asked to bark 3 times.

Though I don't know what Pochihachikou means. Does anyone know?

Thanks Sol. I kinda thought Pochi might mean something like that. kinda sounds like pooch. As for Hachikou, I remember reading about Hachikou the dog a while back and I figured that Pochihachikou was in reference to that famous dog (more so, the loyalty that the dog exhibited).

it's kinda funny that each word in the title refers to both a famous dog and a simpler concept. for example, Laika => famous doggy cosmonaut/barker in Russian, Pavlov => used dogs in social behaviour experiment/ trained pet, Hachikou => famous dog/loyalty. I guess the title qualifies as a double entendre.

on a side note, I kinda thought Maasa and Meru might make a pretty good couple. Maasa seems very disciplined and Meru definitely needs that.

Holy crap! I never even though of associating the personalities of the characters with the 7 deadly sins. Hmm, looks like the folks on /u/ did a really deep dive character analysis. Although this does bring up a really interesting way to look at each relationship and personal interactions. For example, if you think of each character as representing a deadly sin, will the story take the "how love conquerors all" approach or the "redemption" of lost souls approach. Either way, interesting take. Of course, we can only speculate and guess at this point.

ummm..... I wouldn't go as far as love yet, but if you had said lust? oh, yessiree! I would agree with you 150%. I think they need a little more misunderstanding between the two of them to help a) Moriko gain that confidence she lacks where Becky is concerned and b) to help Becky seperate fantasy from reality where Moriko is concerned. Actually at this point, I think point 'b' is the more important of the two. However, we'll have to see how that develops in the coming chapters.
