Arcane posted:

She has no friends? What is she, un-poplar? Does she pine for companionship? Willow she take the chance for human comfort, or will her dreams turn to ash? Yew will find out in future installments! So spruce up your heart, and be the fir-st to discover the ways that love can put down its roots.

I was trying to think tree related puns too but my efforts were fruitless

You people should leaf the jokes to the professionals.

EDIT: Or should I say your jokes leaves much to be desired, because your punchlines are a little shady.

By Sakurako's own words "We're not exactly dating" Sakurako and Kasumi are a quasi-couple. A proto-couple if you will. It's analogous to a protostar. The feelings are swirling in and the pressure at the core is building. However critical mass has not been achieved, in order to ignite a full fledged relationship. That won't happen until Kasumi has her all in moment. That's the moment where the person realises they are willing to make a comment to their relationship. Kasumi seems to be close to making the leap, but her musings on the park bench told me she isn't quite there yet.

These gals have been not just living together but making their life plans around each other for, what, five-six years in-universe and give no hints of stopping any time soon (read as "before the grave"). But because they have failed to conveniently label themselves to your satisfaction they're still apparently not a "real" couple or in "a full fledged relationship."

okay.jpg

Now excuse me while I go find my eyes, I think they rolled over to the kitchen.

Why do people get so damn insulting when other people don't agree with their opinion. Like I'm obviously some idiot because I don't share your interpratation.
My point isn't just a labeling issue.(which you conviently ignored when you went on your little pc anti label rant) I don't think Kasumi has fully commited to Sakurako yet. For most of the series I've felt that Kasumi has pretty much just gone with Sakurako's flow. Letting Sakurako handle life's day to day minutiae, so she could indulge her lazy streak. Pretty much treating her relationship with Sakurako as a marriage of covience. Only recently have I've seen any actual though into the actual nature of her future with Sakurako.

Are people still unconvinced that Sakurako and Kasumi are a couple? At this point I'm not sure it's worth taking the time to explain things, because apparently some people aren't satisfied unless they see them have sex in extreme detail. If some people aren't gonna stop looking for reasons to support why they aren't a couple, I'm going to stop spending time to show them otherwise.

Why are there so many confused people. They are indeed gay for each other, they just like purposfully being vague. These recent chapters have been the most affirming I've seen. Not to mention kasumi has been much more affectionate lately, which is great to see

Why are we confused!? Because everything that has happened between Sakurako and Kasumi so far can be explained away by skinship between gal pals, and "love games". because Sakurako has expressly said they are not dating. Because Kasumi just sat on a park bench reflecting on how she was amazed how long she stuck to this roommate thing, like being with Sakurako was a job or something. Because it's 66 chapters in and I'm tired of vague.

65 chapters plus and Kasumi and Sakurako are still pretty much just ambiguously close roommates. sigh.

EDIT: until this chapter I thought they were at least a quasi-couple.

That there is some fightin words brother, as the next several pages will most likely show.

Which ones? That they are just ambiguously close roommates? Or that I thought they were a quasi-couple?

Damnit I wasn't interested in Reichi's story. I pretty much figured out his motivations a while ago. This chapter just filled in a few details. What I want to know is what the hell is Risako's deal. I think she dropped some clues with the whole I wanted to get rid of these pesky feelings for others but we won't know until she drops the dime.

That was brutal. I once saw a documentary about a couple studying bears in Alaska. They ended up being eaten by one of the bears they were studing. It took 20 minutes for the bear to kill them. The whole thing was cought on an audio recording. They played a small sample in the documentary. I got the same chills from the panels of the bloody feathers falling as I got listening to that recording.

Yep that's the one.

i live in alaska i remember when that happened. ppl get eaten by bears here all the time though tbh, especially tourists who go on hikes and underestimate the situation and danger.

edit: they actually played the recording on the radio when it happened btw, super grim shit to be playing on public air like that, and i was shocked they did it o.O

Holy crap! Why would you ever put something like that over the airwaves!? That's some seriously f%#ked up sh$t!

The story can be a symbol of whatever you interpret as, as long as you have some evidence. :)
I love all the interpretations I've read.
The wings and bruises are all symbols, and I guess that's what makes it more forgivable in a fictional setting.
The story emphasizes the difference between angels and humans a lot... maybe one does not need to be an angel to be happy with who one loves?

I just don't see how anyone can put a positive spin on what the woman did to the angel. She violently ripped a part of the angel away, evidently without permission, because she was jealous and afraid. That's not okay, even if it works out in the story.

EDIT/REDO; I can't tell if Kinome is a useless lesbian, or she just hasn't admitted to herself she is a lesbian yet.

That was weird. And I'm not sure what the take away was.
Honestly I felt it should have ended in tragedy. The angel girl being turned mortal with the loss of her wings and dying. Maybe even getting depressed and committing suicide. Kind of a cautionary tail about clinging too tightly the people you love. You know the whole "if you love someone set them free. If they love you they'll come back" thing.

I think Youko is engaged in "having yout cake and eating it too" type of cheating. Which is the most depicable kind of cheating.

I would think sexually harassing an angel would be a massive sin.

But cuteness is justice and Yuri is cute

I feel like I should have witty retort to that, but I've got nothing.

I know this is weird but I can't stand when a series strongly implies a couple had sex, only to reveal they didn't in a later chapter. It's like a cheap trick to reuse that big moment in the couple's relationship. Plus, it makes implying sex harder. I'm almost to the point where if the artist doesn't have at least a NSFW level sex scene then I assume sex didn't happen.

This series is cute and all, but there is a bit more boyfriend talk than I'm use to in a yuri. Are we sure this belongs in the yuri category? I'm asking for a friend.

This story worries me a bit. The girls are going through a happy time. experiencing a near normal school life. However there is just something wistful, almost sad sounding about the title. It's as if the title is foreshadowing a tragic end. Now with a reminder that they are training for battle. I feel more disquiet about it.

I think the cheating spoiled the overall cuteness of the story a little, because someone is probably going to get their heart broken, and it's most likely going to be poor Fujimura.

Edit: I am really glad it worked out though. At first I thought that Ookuma would stubbornly stick to her delusion that Kanda was a boy. Then at the end, when Ookuma was getting undressed, I had the surreal thought that she would end up being a guy. It all made sense in my head. The really old fashion ideas on staying chaste during dating, The whole weird issue of Ookuma having problems identifying genitalia. I thought for sure it would turn out that Ookuma was a boy and that Ookuma's parents raised her/him as a girl for some strange reason that would only make sense in a manga. Ookuma's wacky parents would be introduced in the next character begging Kanda to not tell Ookuma the truth. Thus starting the next story arc.

A few people have suggested this idea, and I could see it happening if this wasn't a Mochi story. Mochi usually doesn't have guys at all (like it's honestly kind of novel that Kanda has guy friends,) and I think if a Mochi book had a male-sexed protagonist, it might be something like a divide-by-zero error on the entire universe.

As strong as that setup was, I wonder if that was what the reader was suppose to think. A little misdirection to build suspense. Give the reader a little got ya moment.
