We are soooo back.......

I'd be surprised if it didn't look at it critically, it's already commenting on the mismatch between her perception and the real multifaceted person in front of her a bit - I'm really interested in where this is going!

We have investigated the allegations levelled at the heads of our families, and discovered nooooooo evidence of wrongdoing.

Looks like all our family names are in the clear, and we don't have to worry about the effects our dads' ALLEGED impropriety may have on our respective futures. What a relief.

How nice of the King and Prince to look past the obvious conflict of interest there, and also past the glaring problem that - even setting the direct family ties aside - the suspects these two are investigating have VERY direct power over their livelihoods and futures. Acting against them in any way puts them at immediate risk of repercussion. And on top of all that, there's basically no way the suspects won't immediately catch wind of the investigation.

In the past, Komaki broke Wakaba's trust so thoroughly that Wakaba now can't see Komaki's extremely transparent attempt at closing the distance as anything but an endavour to clown on her further (and that, in turn, as a cry for help). I'm actually liking this so far, 'm looking forward to seeing how this resolves

COOL GRANDMA! COOL GRANDMA!

That's so far-fetched. It's not like errors in someone's paperwork are unheard of or legally incorrigible. She's very clearly not an adult in any sense. In chapters 2 and 3, it's mentioned that she's had her identity vouched for and is being interrogated by the police, what happened to that? Did she never check in with her own middle school after her return?

She'd still be the spitting image of any school photographs taken at the time, with all the stuff in her bag not having aged a day either. The idea that she'd be turned down as "technically an adult now" rather than just re-enter school where she left off, solely on the basis of her original birth year, is completely bonkers to me.

I know it's a weird hangup to have, but stuff like the "Of course it's impossible for me to attend a regular high school" keeps coming up and it always takes me right out of it - like, why? Why would it be? Maybe it's weird to readily accept time travel but consider this weird bureaucratic situation to be strange, but seriously, what's keeping her from resuming her "normal" life path? She'd be surrounded by a completely different class, but that's no different from what a transfer student would go through.

Looks like she recognized someone she has beef with on page 12 there

This. Aya's disappearing was prolly the worst thing that could happen to Koto - and to Erika.

If Aya had died or broken up with Koto, there would've been a period of verklempt feelings and then Koto would've moved on.

If no disappearance had ever happened and everyone's life continued normally, then Erika could have fought Aya for Koto fair and square.

Yeah, it's the worst thing that could've happened to all three of them - Aya herself is probably stuck in the worst situation of them all, right now. I'm rooting for the happiness of all three of them, but with things as they are, it's hard to imagine that they'll find it in each other, unless Koto and Aya each have a major change of heart to live their lives outside the shadow of their school romance years and years ago..

The responsibility that comes with making a find like that in a small, close-knit community like this sounds more terrifying than any ghost or monster.

Even as a newspaper worker first and foremost, you'd assume she'd have some degree of association with stamps, if not the printing presses that the printing house in Chapter 2 presumably has... Tengu must be terrible at Factorio, huh,

I like the implication that when Kappa have beef with each other, things get a lot more no-holds-barred, and the reflection on the fleeting nature of obituaries. The Minox Riga namedrop is really neat, too.

This is really nice... I really liked the ambiguity in this one, which is pretty rare (for me).

At the start of the story, the journalist was really sure of her own feelings and wants in a way that was poisoning her work and social life with jealousy - and by the stopping point, her clarity was completely upended, but the conflict was resolved and the three of them can get along without any envy in the way. I thought that was a really nice touch!

Thanks for the translation..!

P.S.:
I didn't really get the impression that the characters as a group knew anything the audience doesn't, by the end.

The journalist has confused feelings towards both her artist friend and the cafe owner. The exact nature of the artist's feelings toward either of the others weren't made explicit, though she was overjoyed to run into her friend at the cafe again, and asks her to model for her all the time, and ended her message to her with a "~♡"...

We can't see into the cafe owner's head, but she struck me as sweeping people off their feet almost by accident more than anything else, as a result of taking a close interest in her customers as people and as part of the community around her. She mentions trying to assist all customers that come by even beyond serving them at the cafe, displays local crafts as decorations, listens to the local radio... The artist comes to the realization that the cafe owner is a very equal-opportunity attentive person herself, right around here: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/rainy_emotion#22. I don't think she had any romantic intentions for either girl at any point.
