...... I will admit even for all my love of the monogatari series Hana really was the only one where I got a bit bored, they did Kanbaru so dirty after it was finally her time to shine the script just didn't have it's usual shine.

And there wasn't any gay shit in it ..... With Kanbaru as the main lead!!! Sacrilege all around.

I don't really care that much about Adachi not getting along with her family, there's a certain point of no return to every relationship and not just cuz they're you're parents you're gonna get along with them and have to forgive them and move along into the future with a smile, some people are incapable of that.

Is it sad ? Sure, but well it is what it is Adachi doesn't strike me as the forgiving type either (to anyone but Shima) and she clearly has a lot of resentment towards her family for not trying to understand her, maybe she can stop actively hating her family but she surely is way past trying to go for the family ending.

And I believe there's nothing wrong with that, you can make up that lost relationship with friendship love, romantic love, and a healthy amount of self love, hey everyone's different.

Whoa what a weird debate got started all of a sudden, a kind of stupid one really.

The guy is clearly out of his mind for expecting 2 really, but like fucking really socially awkward people to have a regular "boy meets girl" romance lol, like dude forget about how real the whole gay angst stuff is already, one of them is apathethic towards everything and the other has never had a real human relationships in her life, yeah no shit their relationship is gonna be really fucking awkward especially at the start.

Adachi is clinging to Shima because she's the first person she's ever cared about, like a kid crying when he's first left at kindergarten cuz he never thought he'd need to be separated from mom.

Shima is just as fucking weird for whatever reason she just can't seem to care about anyone or anything really and no there doesn't have to be some deep reason for it, that's just how she is, and Adachi just so happens to be someone that has caught her interest, shes breaking the monotonous life she was experiencing because for once something is interesting, Adachi wanting a romantic relationship with her, she was never against it, sure she's doubted a lot whether her fondness for Adachi goes all the way to romantic love, but do take in mind she was never personally against it, in fact she was quite excited when she first found out Adachi was in love with her, she's just scared what others will think, cuz funnily enough even if she doesn't care about others she wants to maintain an image of being normal.

All in all they're both fucking weird and have found something in each other they never thought they'd have and they never thought they'd have that because they're so fucking weird but the interesting part is seeing them connect, this ain't some self insert, or good happy story about 2 cute girls finding love with someone that makes their heart go doki doki, it's 2 fucking weirdos learning that yes there's somebody just as fucking weird as them out there, and they can connect with each other in a way they never thought they could, even if it's in a very weird way.

All in all youre not gonna understand what other people think and like/dislike ever cuz you're not them and even if something's are pretty fucked they tolerate each other weirdness cuz they know that they themselves are fucking weird as well, but not in a toxic way cuz they're not encouraging each other's most unhealthy behaviors, they're both trying to change for the better, while still being fucking weird.

Nah but I do sort of understand not being ready for such a weird relationship when the overwhelming majority of romances play it so safe.

Ohhh yeah one thing I am kinda sad was left out in the timeskip was if Shimas mom knows Shimas gay, I mean most probably yes right ? What with Shima living with Adachi and all but well what a way for the author to keep that talk for later.

God will that happen ? Shima momma asking her daughter if she's gay, or like imply that she knows and that Shima can talk to her about it ? I really want to see that lol.

What a way to work around not revealing anything, they know she's going to America but don't ever ask who she's going with or anything lol.

Yeah and more so I see this series struggling a bit with how slow the beginning volumes are.

Like I love this series quite a bit but I admit I wasn't so sure when I read the first volume I was going to like it lol, Id gotten spoiled they'd get together in volume 6 so that's why I continued no problem and thank God I did cuz it became my favorite romance series to date but I may have stopped at vol 1 had I not known they do get together lol.

Well two cours are still impossible.

You're right the books are kind of short so they can maybe do good adaptations with 3 volumes per season but ... I like it when they go for 2 volumes just to be safe, add a bit of extra stuff if there's a little time left over.

Well some LN adaptations are rushed to hell anyway so let's see.

It'd be a good opportunity for a VA to go all out.

I highly doubt there will be a season 2 though lol much less the 3rd season it'll probably require to reach that point, what is it with Yuri series only getting 1 season .... If bloom into you never got it I highly doubt anything ever will, well maybe a really ecchi series ? Otome no Teikoku if it ever gets adapted ?

For Adachi was how her favorite food was water lol, like really ? Water ? Plain old H2O? I mean I like warer myself quite a bit but a favorite food ? And yes food not even drink but when asked what your favorite food is you could only bring up water?

Even plain bread would be a better answer at that point no ? Or is she drinking water directly from the North Pole or some virgin glacier water or something ?

Just felt it was kinda bizarre lol even if it has been brought up multiple times how Adachi never seems to enjoy any food I'd have thought she'd say the sandwiches Shima made it something.

Shima feels that's she's cheating on Adachi just by meeting someone, indeed that's a bit extreme but I feel like Adachi's jealousy will calm down quite a bit now that they're dating and that she'll get the attention she's always wanted and a proper human connection with someone, Shima just has to guide her, it's clear Adachi is starting to think now that indeed shes going overboard and also about not just making herself but also shima happy, what a cutie.

Yeah I recently re-read the books but it was only from vol 4 up, guess that's why I kind of forgot how Adachi was pretty in denial at first about bit being Like That as you said.

lol that last part sounds pretty Adachi, indeed she was just hoping they'd be especially good friends that will always be together and just maybe have a kiss here or there, but well it is due to her anxiety about what Shimamura will do when she sees just how Adachi sees her.

That's an interesting point as well up to the confession scene it's Shima that has to drag the words "I want to go out with you/be my girlfriend" out of Adachi, even if she had realized she loved Shima and wanted to tell her, she never really fantasised about Shima being her gf, guess it's her pessimism at work ? Not even thinking about it cuz she's be too sad if it all went to hell ?

God I wanted to wanted to wait for the full volume before reading but I just couldn't hold myself back, everyone had been saying vol 8 was good and that it was their favorite and my God they weren't wrong this volume opens up so strong with these 2 chapters that it's also probably gonna end up being my favorite, sorry vol 6.

Err just some points I really liked, wall of text guys sorry I just have to gush about how much I liked it and I can only do it here lol none of my rl friends like light novels or Yuri for that matter.

-Showing us their future together, a rare occurrence for sure since most series end on just right after the relationship forms or when they've just dated for a bit so a whole 10 years into the future and seeing how they're doing was great, I'm not a fan of how much the author dicks around at times with the different timelines and what ifs since it feels like it's just some wasted time but this one was real good, helps that it's directly tied to the story not some weird stuff.

-Fortune teller lady, though she might be shady I like how she's helped out Adachi every time we've seen them together, and well it's what Adachi needs someone to talk to and bounce of ideas with, I know we joke about how "crazy" some of Adachi's ideas and actions are but it's just that she really is just experiencing relationships now and doesn't know how to do a lot of basic social stuff, doesn't help she doesn't want to get other friends and is satisfied with Shima but she needs help to learn about how to interact with others and what's normal but she can't ask Shima cuz there's be no point then, lol quite a conundrum.

-Shimamura and how she's been slowly noticing Adachi more and more as a girlfriend, and this is even if she's not quite sure if she's doing a good job as a girlfriend, the number of times Shima looks at Adachi and thinks "how cute" or "she's adorable" is staggering coming from Shima and how she had been till now, also how she handled Adachi's pouting and told her to just enjoy the trip was real nice what a mature moment, also how she's just looking out for Adachi Ina girlfriend type of way now.

-Shima needing to decide if Adachi is all she needs and openly showing their relationship, tbh it was quite painful reading how much she's troubled what others might think of their love and still not being sure how much she wants to show, but at the same time it's pretty darn interesting seeing her come to a decision, Adachi as always is in Dreamland and she's fully accepted the Yuri thing, doesn't even care about it, but seeing Shima worry is interesting, looking forward to how that will go down now that they're being so affectionate and Sancho's de Los Pancho's are unto them.

-The bath scene, my God that was just ... Nice lol Shima wanting to not think about it too much but then just going all out asking what Adachi wants to do, letting her check her out, looking at Adachi plenty herself, welp I know that it was already known Shima is into girls since she accepted Adachi's confession and has been saying how good Adachi looks since vol 1 but this really drove home that Shima appreciates a beautiful body as much as any man of culture out there lol and wanting to ask what Adachi thought of her body, ahhh some real first relationship type of stuff there being all self conscious about every little thing, seeing your partner naked is a big thing and Shima handled it as well as you'd think, and it was somehow great that even though it's usually Adachi moving things forward, this time it was Shima who was just straight as an arrow "do you want to see", my God Shima I love you so much lol.

-Going to sleep while holding hands, it was wholesome af and made a nice contrast after what had just happened in the bath lol.

Overall every volume this series just continues to improve and I just end up loving it more, it's truly become my favorite Yuri series and favorite romance as well.

Oh you're right, she's been gay so long that specific paragraph just slipped my mind lol, you're right bud that line does make it seem like she struggled with that a bit, damn good call.

Indeed at the very start she does seem to have been a bit worried about both of them being girls, but well as Shimamura always says her straightforwardness just let her forget it when she accepted she was in love I guess.

Well to me it feels like it's more she was in shock of having someone she loved in the first place not necessarily that she was a girl, we know just how much she disliked people before Shima (well even now really) cuz of how her life has gone and truly it just felt like she couldn't believe she had found someone she could have so much affection for, since to her it truly felt like she'd never be able to love anyone.

But hey who knows maybe there was a bit of Shima being a girl that was also stopping her, could be really, but unlike Shima who is just kinda recently awakening a more physical attraction towards Adachi (whoa that bath scene), Adachi started realizing she might be in love cuz she had a dream where she kissed Shima, so yeah lol.

But yes I totally agree with that, tbh even though I don't particularly like Yashiro I've personally just taken Shimamuras stance on this, just don't think about it too hard, she's there and she's not going away the author has a hard on for putting aliens into the story for whatever reason and even though she does kinda ... Well I don't want to say ruin cuz its a strong word, but she stops the flow of the story at times it's whatever at this point I just hope she keeps being a side thing.

Errr I do want to ask if anyone remembers if Shimamura being a girl was ever an issue for Adachi ?

Like with Shimamura I quite remember her stating a couple of times when they were on dates about how Adachi's clinginess might give people the wrong idea and as SadDoctor said she just kinda blocked out any gay connotations Adachi's actions had and maybe that's also why it took her a long time to realize what Adachi felt for her, still even in volume 6 and at the confession, Shimamura did give voice to how them both being girls was a bit weird and she gave serious thought to the problems it'd bring and that if she really, really loved Adachi shed have no trouble with riding out any issues that might arise to be with Adachi, and well that's about all she wrote right lol ? thank god.

But with Adachi I don't quite remember if she ever had any problems with Shima being a girl and the whole lesbian aspect I just remember she really wanted to express her love, well it did take her like 4? Volumes to realize she was in love, I remember people being mad cuz she came to the realization "I love Shimamura" twice it felt like lol, but her problem was just that she didn't understand what "love" was with her limited understanding of relationships, and she just had to accept that she loves someone, but yeah did she ever think the Yuri thing was a problem ? Anyone remember ?

Well even now Shima still has a bit of anxiety at showing that she's a lesbian and Adachi as always feels like she's just too preocupied with having shima pamper and return her love to care about silly things like others opinions of heir gay love.

Also while indeed the art in this series is quite detailed and quite pretty it's not exactly the best as someone said before it's like a nice bonus whenever a nice scene appears but it's not like it's So-bin from overlord where the art is godlike masterpiece one after another lol, ehhh not shitting on the artist or anything there's definitely way, way worse light novel artists but here I am mostly in for the story just want to see Yuri things happen still hopefully someone with a nice style takes over, at least as talented as Non hopefully cuz at the end of the day I do like the art lol I have bought all the volumes even if I'm never learning Japanese for the pictures alone, and supporting Yuri sales of course.

Possibility that next volume has a kiss ? I'd say not very likely at this point but let's see how volume 8 ends.

While I will indeed play the 2nd game since I quite liked the first one, imma have to give it a bit of time lol, I'm not the best when it comes to VN's especially when they're a slow burn like the flowers series the first 2/3 of the game where super slow, I'm afraid I might just bail I I start the 2nd game now amd have to go through another slow start since I know that the main character will change and it'll probably be another slow burn until the end, can't believe fucking Mayuri left

Not explicit yuri but Nettaigyo wa Yuki Ni Kogareru is my favorite on going manga. It does a phenomenal job of exploring the emotional side of female relationships, The latest chapter we do get a confession from one of the characters, so this manga might be going the yuri route soon!

It's pretty good indeed I am reading that as well I myself was quite sad that it seemed like it would all be just subtext so wtf ? Really a confession ? From the main girls ? Anyone have any good recommendations for Yuri that you're reading atm ? Just finished vol 2 of the Sayaka light novels, Flowers part 1 visual novel, and caught up to Otome no Teikoku so I'm looking for something more to read.

Guys I don't see any praise for Adachi here and I think she really deserves it, she's finally thinking about how to make Shimamura happy, the first page was a pretty important one imo, she's finally being able to pick up on Shima's thoughts and she's focused on letting her have a more gentle and genuine smile.

Also while it has always been there this chapter truly highlights how indeed it's not just that Adachi is very awkward and can't interact with people at all, she's just completely inexperienced, reading this truly gives you that feeling of seeing someone learn social interactions for the first time and learning how to react, she now knows that she can't go off like in that phone call, she knows that she needs to put effort to keep Shima happy, she realized that her thought of keeping Shima just to herself is impossible, we're truly witnessing someone learn how to interact with others.

Also very important realization moments is that yeah you don't know to know every little detail of your partner and that her definition of cheating needs a lot of work, well more like she needs more experience and trust, which she's starting to get.

Shima was ridiculously cute this chapter, her love for Adachi keeps winning out to her embarrassment and boredom, her desire to keep everything secret felt weak this chapter lol which I love, also I had already noticed but she really does have a bit of an A side to her, she likes to watch Adachi squirm and feel troubled because of her lol, I love that she realized that it was good that Adachi was trying to make her happy and not just outright asking her for stuff, having Adachi plan out a date to get her in the mood was great.

"Oh so you're cheating on me now?" lol glorious

Nagafuji finding out about the boomerang, Adachi being a bit regretful she didn't talk to her mom, Shima being a bit of an S, being more forward about her love and that kiss where all standout moments, of course along with Adachi showing signs of changing in a very good direction.

Fantastic chapter, everything I could ever want tbh.
