I liked this, but I have to say- once you get to the point of meeting in RL I'd think you'd have long since exchanged real names at least right? Or it would at least be the first thing you did once meeting. It seems silly using weird online handles face to face.

I've been to several RL get-togethers for message boards / RP guilds / etc. over the years and people inevitably use their online handles at first, at least until they get more used to one another.

This mangaka has gone and done THE WORST FUCKING THING that they could do for me. The mangaka has decided an antagonist, who most likely will never have any kind of redemption arc or reason to care about in any way, a back story to explain why he does the shitty, horrible, dirtbag bullshit he does. NEWS FLASH WRITER: WE DON'T CARE! The character is an outright shitbag, and we don't want to story to focus on him AT ALL. Literally nothing he does will change our opinions of him at this point, and solidifying his shittyness with a backstory like this, will only lose you readers. NOTE TO FUTURE/CURRENT WRITERS: DON'T DO THIS. It is a complete waste of our time. I didn't finish this chapter, and will not be reading any more of this manga. The art is lovely, but the writing needs a lot of work.

Sorry for the rant, but holy shit this is a major pet peeve of mine.

I actually like three-dimensional villains. I'm weird that way.

It is a fairly common youkai in any series that features such things I feel, but you are right that it hardly seems threatening hehe. Then again I don't think all of them are supposed to either.

found it, johnb was right: Heart-Pounding Excitement at Mononoke Girls' Academy, except I got the premise mixed up with I am not a Succubus! (both girls are humans pretending to be monsters though)

Yes, people only watch slasher movies because they like a good scare. The fact that when it comes to girls, those who aren't "muh purity" types have their deaths be especially graphic is a total coincidence, of course. All our good upstanding citizens wouldn't dream of wishing harm upon young girls. Of course.

I can count the number of slasher movies I've enjoyed on one hand and still have a middle finger left over for anyone who accuses me of internalized misogyny. There's a lot more to splatter films than '80s American drive-in schlock, e.g. splatstick like Dead Sushi (2012).
