The whole aro-ace thing so far feels like a psuedo-conflict. They thought they were, they weren't, the end. The scar thing seems like it'll be a way of turning into a real conflict by making Yuriko's aversion to sex a hang-up rather than disinterest.

Methinks, actually, that the scars might play into a potential sex scene of sorts. It's just a hunch though but her aversion to sex, there, as well as her self-consciousness about her scars definitely implies that perhaps Matoi will see her scars in a sex scene or prior and will be accepting of it

Funny that MC is functionally illiterate and the other is a published author. I think the author has the best maid she could ever have.

The person who doesn’t read books, only reads manga, or is intimidated by “hard” books or “books with long sentences” is a very common manga trope, and has nothing to do with “functional illiteracy.”

Honestly, it's super common, too. Especially in today's day and age when there's audiobooks. I know that I personally haven't even read a novel in like 6 years because, even for school, I'd just listen to an audiobook while playing video games and call it a day.

That said, I don't think I've ever read a yuri manhwa, manhua, webtoon, or any other webcomic with incest in it (other than maybe one with stepsisters and another with incestuous sexual assault). Considering the rarity of incest in the medium, just seems that the market demographic aren't really into that kinda stuff so it would be odd just from that standpoint

The translation we're using is the Japanese one as the Japanese version has more content. However, it was "Yuja" in the Japanese version, as well, meaning that to keep it as "Yuja" was a deliberate decision by Tima, so we stayed true to it.

I don’t even care if they call the Maldives Morubiju like one manga translation I saw from another group.

So far we know she's independent (she has her own house), she's single (but like girls and seems to be dating Sena), she gets along well with her imouto (she's happy when she gets a call from her), and of course we know that her family is CRAZY RICH (they own a nationwide chain of elite cram schools). We don't know about her job or personal sources of income, but it's a given that she makes a lot—because her parents wouldn't be satisfied otherwise, and also because without a doubt Sena is very expensive. ≺evil laugh≻

Not only is the family rich but they also spoil their kids rotten. No wonder the MC wound up the way she did. She was privileged and spoiled rotten and never felt the need to work and do anything for herself because she was already given everything from the get-go without any real consequences. Remember, her room is FILLED with Chiron merch and that merch is expensive and the MC hasn't worked a day in her goddamn life, meaning that her parents spoiled her so much to let her get all of that merch.

To add, the sister was a childhood prodigy, hard-working, going into a solid career, and probably does have a decent paying job, so the fact that she pretty readily accepts giving her money does imply she's probably not having many financial issues either

Sooo…just curious but what resolution are these being uploaded at? Cause they are taking, like, 5 times as long as any other chapter page to load.

All 5 chapters have had a resolution of 1697x2400 px.

Ah, looking back at it now, I guess this chapter's file size has been roughly around 1MB per page. By comparison, the other chapters were around 500kb

Tbf, both "translations" are nearly identical. In fact, we basically just copied Toeto's version an just edited some of the lines for grammar and context. Overall, though, everything was kept the same. That said, we just now switched over to our own TL, with Chapter 4, so feel free to compare it to the OG and provide feedback as to the translation

I was just double-checking each chapter to make sure I hadn't missed anything in my reading. (Only the Toeto version has that list of characters at the end of Chapter 1, however.)

Yeah, mainly because that's actually absent from the Korean version, which was the version Toeto used. We're using the Japanese version, which actually has extra content that the Korean version doesn't have

Couldn't you just use the Korean honorifics and then drop them when they drop them in the story?

Glad I'm not the only one who gets a little irritated when people use Japanese honorifics in translations of Korean webtoons. It's just so strange and weird. Keeping -ssi and -nim would have been totally fine, with a little translator note or something for people who are not familiar about Korean honorifics.

The translation we are using is the Japanese version, which came out at the same time as the Korean version. It's only half true to say that it's a Korean webtoon considering Tima is bilingual in both languages and releases both versions at the same time. However, she's also natively Japanese, publishing from Japan, and the Japanese version has extra content that the Korean version does not (case in point, the panel extras in our version that were absent from Toeto's version). Aside from the Korean names, it's safe to just consider this a Japanese webcomic and roll with it; not to mention our team only has Japanese translators so that's what we went for.

That said, going with "ssi" would be just as strange as "san" and, as said before, going with Toeto's old-fashioned "Miss" would also be unfitting. We coulda dropped honorifics but then we'd have to do something silly, later, like provide a TL note telling you that they dropped honorifics and are now acting all lovey-dovey with each other but that alone would be a controversial decision. Ultimately, keeping it in line with the translation we're using just seemed like the safest option.

One thing I didn't really like about the new translation is the use of Japanese honorifics in a Korean comic. Like, totally out of place...

OG used the Korean translation, which used "-ssi" (pretty similar to "-san" like the Japanese version uses). Toeto had translated it as "Miss Swallow" which isn't inaccurate per se more that it conveys an old-fashioned sense to it which didn't really fit the modern tone. I am told that they later drop all honorifics, too, so there's really no way to properly localize it in a way that would maintain the original's meaning without having some random TL Note saying "PS, they dropped honorifics so pretend that they're more intimate and lovey-dovey" so we kept it the same

To be fair, Tima uploaded the first 3 chapters on day one for free (hence why they were the 3 chapters Toeto had done). We were just scanlating these weekly, hence the slower pace. However, I can assure you that the pacing will now speed up to something more like what you saw with the latter half of this chapter

We are now all caught up to Toeto! Now it's our job to pick up their torch and run with it to the finish line!

this should be called "red flag: a chapter". Never before have I seen a 2d fictional character so utterly uncomfortable with something like this.

You know, although she hasn't done anything substantially wrong in the present timeline, it still feels like bullying to me. Like, she's clearly trying to make her uncomfortable and take away control of the situation from her.

Please, say it louder for the one in the back.

Unfortunately I don't see how something can be concentrating this exclusively on a pair of characters and not plan to have them together. But I'd rather see the light-haired one's face mashed in, to be honest.

You and I are so in tune right now. I would honestly rather see the black-haired girl get together with anyone else but that short girl.

no wtf. That's the face of someone seeing their bully again and dying inside. The caressing on the breasts is literally an invasion of privacy, I would even go so far and say it was sexual harassment. Also that's not blushing because of shyness/embarrassment, that black-haired girl was panicking.

Welp, it wouldn't be Dynasty without something even as innocuous as this becoming the subject of controversy...

That said, she's just teasing her, "Bullying" her in the Takagi-san sense (i.e. two lovers engaged in cute foreplay). Chaeyeon took it as bullying, as a child, but I doubt Seungha ever intended that. She just always found her expressions of embarrassment to be cute. In a way, her being reunited with her after around 14 years, she wanted to see if she'd make the same cute expressions if she teased her, again.

As for Chaeyeon, though, all she remembers of Sengua is "That boy who used to bully me when I was little...the one I was actually sad about getting transferred" but she still isn't sure if it's the same person (not until a couple more chapters) so it's not like she's panicking over seeing her bully, again; she's simply trying to figure out who she is but that teasing is implying to her that it's the "boy" who used to tease her, as a child.

Also, the discomfort she feels is simply embarrassment but it should be obvious it's because she feels aroused by her. It's pretty clear lesbian flirting/subtext and her inner gay is emerging to it. It's the classic "unabashed gay" X "shy/awkward gay" couple.

Yes, she was a tomboy. Although, that said, Swallow here thought she actually was a boy and her childhood bully (though it was just teasing in the same way she’s teasing her right now)

Reading this gave me an uneasy feeling, even with such a minimal amount of dialogue. Great job by the artist.
