I don't think the writing has been dumbed down to cater to teenage readers on Kakao. It still has the same style as the main story: the hidden meanings behind the characters' words and their actions, the foreshadowing, the complicated drama elements, etc. The only thing Team Gaji can't do is make the sex scenes more explicit, which is a damn shame since the series started off as a steamy adult drama.
I still feel as though if the author was gonna write a story with Seju being the main character, it should have been more of a sequel series with 50 chapters or more, showing her meeting new people and dealing with life without Sumin. But atlas, it is what it is. At any rate, I expect by the time One has ended, there will be a proper closure that leaves nothing to doubt. Seju will arguably get the happiest ending after all the suffering she had to endure throughout her life. She will have a family, friends and finally a soulmate.
Gotta admit when One does finally end, I don't think I'll be that eager and interested in reading the other side stories. Neither Dawoon or Sangmi particularly stand out. As for Sumin and Sungji side story in Will, not sure what's there left to tell about this couple. They will probably have a couple of conflicts just for the drama before finally making up and marrying each other at last. I could be proven wrong though.
There is another way of looking at this, which is, for Seju’s mental health issues it’s actually better that her mom got murdered than that her mom abandoned her by committing suicide. She can now just be angry and get revenge if she wants to, being secure about herself, rather than be begging for love due to feeling like the abandoned bastard child. It’s like rewriting her own story in her head. Selfish but true.
Presumably that was the symbolic meaning of her spitting out the “leftover love” glove.
I must say it’s kinda dumb that she never investigated about her mom independently though. She already know her siblings are criminals. Also she is still on friendly terms with Saehyun despite the fact he tortured Sumin lol What gives?
Good point. I expect the truth would start to change Seju's outlook on life, where she slowly but gradually adopts a more positive view on how she sees herself and others. I only wish that it didn't come at the cost of even more physical and mental pain. Then again, you know how that saying goes "No pain, no gain."
One thing for sure, it's definitely going to be a tearjerker moment when flashbacks of Ahn Chahee are being revealed possibly next chapter or the one after. Just imagine her holding baby Seju in her arms, showing the warm love of a mother that was stolen away from Seju =(
Anyways, as for why Seju never bothered to investigate her mother, I suppose she was unable to do so because of focussing her love and attention all on Sumin. Not to mention she hated her mother this whole time, thinking she had cowardly hanged herself. If anything, I'm more puzzled as to why Chairman Baek given his power and influence, had never found out ages ago one of his sons were responsible for murdering the love of his life. He could have hired the best private eyes to investigate, and no matter how hard that son tried to cover up, there's bound to be a slip up somewhere.
Was it really a surprise someone from Seju's brothers killed her mom? It was pretty obvious, since they hated Seju and her mom so much. Also being greedy af and not wanting to share their fortune. It couldn't have been Seju's dad or her brother.
The only mystery is still whether that particular brother had an affair with Seju's mom, since there was a scene of him remembering her in season 1. Some people would also theorize that he is actually her dad, but I think that's less possible.I don't think Dowon will die either.
Season 3 with Dowon's past and her evil ex, while Dowon gets healed by dating Seju. Season 4 that ex moving on with someone new
Not really a huge surprise but still, its not something that anyone in their sane mind would want it to happen. Like god dammit, havent this poor girl suffered more than enough already? How much longer does the author intends to shit all over her?
Both her parents are gone, her first love left her for good after tormenting her for 10 years, twice someone made an attempt on her life. Now she finds out the truth her mother was actually murdered and Won got injured in order to save her. What's next? She gets kidnapped, tortured and raped? O_o
Anyway, don't think Saehyun was Ahn Chahee lover or even crazy that his actually Seju's real father. I believe he simply admires her as a mother figure since she looked after him when he was young and stayed at the hotel.
But Team Gaji do develop relationships between Do Won and Baek Seju, it’s not the end. It’s just I want more of that then tying up what was hinted in main story about mother, murder and Seju’s mad family. And its shame that people didn’t want to leave positive comments after quarrel above, I’d love to see them. But it's understandable, lol.
Exactly. There are still loose ends that need to be addressed to give a proper closure to this story, mainly regarding Seju's mother and Wonnie's past. After that, perhaps the fate of that evil brother, and the relationship progress between Seju x Dowon. It needs at least 5 more chapters to cover all these, maybe even 10. And since Nami's story was canceled a while ago, it is possible Team Gaji had planned on extending this story longer than intended.
Anyway, I was once intrigued by the idea of a dark plot behind the death of Seju's mother, thinking it was possible the family had played their part to murder her out of hatred and greediness. But still, I kind of wish the truth didn't happen that way since it's going to complicate things even further for Seju, who has already been hurt plenty enough from all the drama inflicted upon her. Now poor Seju is going to feel terrible for having hated her mother this whole time, added to the guilt that Won ended up getting hurt for her sake.
Well, it's safe to say she won't be thinking about Sumin for quite a while. In fact, her spitting out the red mitten (the leftover love Sumin had given her) and calling out Won-Ah aloud seems like a metaphor that she's finally letting go of her first love, thus freeing herself from the past. Her attention is going to be directed caring for Wonnie and getting revenge against that brother unless Saehyun decides to beat her to it.

Holy smoke, that reveal in the latest chapter!
So as it turns out, Seju's mother was actually murdered by that asshole brother!
The one that gave Sumin the horrible scar up her arm? Cuz I mean, really, most of the brothers have shown themselves to be various flavors of asshole....
No, It isn't Saehyun (the brother who gave Sumin the scars on her arms). It's the 3rd oldest brother (whose name is still unknown) that Seju met up during the family meeting in ch71. He's probably the one, who also hired that female assassin to strangle Seju in ch76 in order to teach her a lesson

Oh dear. Even after this series finally comes to a proper end with all side stories completed, I doubt this topic on who and what should have been the end game is ever going to stop. Team Gaji must be doing something right since they manage to create this amazing webtoon that generates so much interest and debate. Whether or not they will make another series just as good or better than WDTFS, only time will tell.
I could have sworn Sumin had forgiven her already. Wasn't she the one who wrote the message: "I don't regret meeting you. Have a safe journey." on the back of their selfie photo in Ch107?
Lol why do people find it so difficult to “talk”? A note when the person is leaving is not talking, and definitely cannot be understood as forgiveness. Cryptic messages about not waiting on the snow, I love you but I gotta go or whatever is not talking. They just need to talk like 2 adults rather than going around in circles around each other.
As a comparison: Dowon and Seju’s conversation in ch 116 was the first honest adult talk in the whole damn series lol You know, just 2 human beings opening up about their feelings over beer and saying what they actually mean. It's not that hard.
This story has literally been 117+ chapters of Seju, Sumin, poor Sungji and now even stupid Dowon trying to f*ck their problems away and being very unsuccessful at it. STAHP.
Anyways, I'm still not particularly happy with the flashback of Sumin appearing but I suppose its necessary for Seju to have this mental block. So long as she has this low self esteem that she thinks shes some kind of terrible, inferior human being who deserves to be punished or whatever she think about herself, she wont be capable of loving Wonnie or anyone else for that matter. She needs to learn how to love herself first, stop this negative thought that shes useless and has nothing good to show for. It would have been nice if there was a secondary plot like Seju following her dream. I believe in the last chapter of Paradise, she did mention about wanting to achieve a higher position or something, so she should go ahead and do that.
That's Sumin for you. By her own admission, she's never been good with her choice of words. So her leaving the note for Seju to wish her safe journey was probably the best she could do in her current state. I mean, I wouldn't expect her to have the confidence to convey her farewells in person, especially to an ex whom she realized she had hurt for ten long years.

Sigh I don't know what else to say other than I'm hugely disappointed with yet again another flashback of Sumin coming back to ruin the whole moment. Yes, it may be realistic for her to still have that mentality to not forget about her first love and self-punish herself for what she did to her in the past, but doesn't mean it's not very frustrating and tiresome to see her being like this...
As for the next chapter, I have a feeling Wonnie will come back in time to save her President from that suspicious figure with the baseball bat, perhaps injuring herself in the process. That would force Seju to cancel whatever plans she had in mind and stay with her.

I like how Seju talked about her past casually with Dowon, her struggles, her insecurities and her own mistakes, which is very nice, especially when I had to read SuminxSungji didnt talk to each other properly for more than 90 chapters and just jumped to love each other madly, like what the hell with this couple, they didnt even share their past and just love each other like crazy, lollllllll
I also like how she told Dowon that she is attracted to her sexually, not emotionally. This means she might have sex with this girl but loving this girl is still a long way to go. Honestly, this particular couple gives a completely different vibe from SuminxSungji, which makes me like the current pace a lot. While it's so weird to see Sumin easily falling in love with Sungji without even an effing appropriate reason, DowonxSeju might go off with a sexual relationship first before they can actually go anywhere further. This development of the couple is suitable for Seju's emotional state, though. Quite nice, actually. I really thought they could let Seju jump right into loving Dowon, just like how they did with Sumin to Sungji.
I still dont like the concept of Seju loving someone else, however, I do like how they're handling SejuxDowon.
Well, kudos to the author if she's really planning on Seju and Wonnie becoming casual sex partners first. There is a certain beauty seeing a purely sexual relationship transforming into serious and committed.
But then again, there's a chance nothing will happen in the next chapter. Seju could just be teasing her like she always does or Won may decide to brush her off for whatever reasons or someone shows up to interrupt them. And if this side-story is going to have the same length as Paradise, then it seems kind of doubtful Team Gaji wants to drag things out with this unorthodox approach. A traditional route where a couple formed an emotional connection first before they finally do the deed, does seem more preferable.
As for Sumin and Sungji jumping straightaway to love each other madly like some fairy-tale, love at first sight romance, well lol.... I suppose you could chalk it up to the author being inexperienced as a story writer back then. Probably follow the first thing that comes to her mind without thinking it some more.
think Won ex can be dead and if not, she still have hard time after running away. And I think this is why background characters in recent chapters are so nice to her and not only because she so friendly. Helping Seju can make her more ok and if they want relationships there a long way to go. But dunno, maybe not, lol.
There are several hints that could be the case.
Wonnie was in tears when she went and rescued Seju from the pool, possibly reliving a traumatic event from the past. And while having the sleepover, she did mention how she wishes everyone should look peaceful when they sleep. Maybe she witnessed her ex's dead face that was full of agony instead of looking at peace. Then in this latest chapter when she was sharing her story, she referred her ex in the past tense and refused to answer anymore when Seju pressed her as if the memory is too painful for her to recall.
None of these are conclusive though. I could just be overthinking things, and her ex may well be alive. Hell, she might even show up at one point in the story, potentially causing a love triangle drama O_o
At any rate, I'm pleased with the development so far between Seju and Wonnie. Having them loving each other is still a long way to go, but it's slowly getting there.
Sigh 7 days to go until the next chapter release. I swear this series is too addicting. I must have gone back and read the latest chapter like 5 or 6 times already.

I'm guessing the would-be assassin drama was intended to happen later in the story. Perhaps Team Gaji wish to develop their relationship first, allowing them to be closer than before. Then it would have more of a dramatic effect when Seju somehow learns the truth about Wonnie on her own.

^ Yeah. It could be the same female assassin who strangled Seju as a warning from her brothers. Then again, that would be too predictable. It might just be one of the cleaners since Won mentioned a cleaning company coming to the villa once every month. Or maybe it's the person who sent the email to Seju for a business meeting or Saehyun checking up on them.
Guess we'll just have wait and see the next chapter which should be released on the 16th. I do agree it's a strange choice to hire an ex-swimmer athlete to be Seju's bodyguard. I mean, you would think with their wealth and influence, the Chairman or Saehyun could have easily found a proper one who has the training and experience. Hell, if they were that concerned about her safety, why not just simply hire a whole team to watch over her?
So if I understand this right. Chairman Baek's original plan after his death was to have Seju hiding away in that villa in Jeju with Sumin acting as her emotional support and Wonnie watching out for her since he fears his sons would still come after her despite leaving her with no inheritance?
Hmm, not sure if this is really the best solution. If he really wanted to protect her forever from those asshole brothers, perhaps he should have pulled off a Red Wedding style assassination upon them or fake his daughter's death and have her identity changed, even brainwashed her so she can't remember her former life. It seems wishful thinking that the family would let go of their grudge towards her eventually, so she can return to Seoul one day in peace. Of course, I could be jumping to conclusion early and there actually was more to his plan.
Saehyun is certainly a pretty interesting character. Out of all the despicable brothers in the Baek family, his the only one that doesn't appear to bear a grudge towards Seju's existence and has assisted her when needed. I believe it was mentioned before from the author that Ahn Chahee used to take care of him when he was young and he sees in her a motherly figure? Perhaps he promised Ahn Chahee to look after her child.

Could have sworn the author had canceled the planned side story for Nammi. Perhaps she should do the same for Dawoon x Sangmi. None of these characters seemed particularly memorable enough for the majority readers to care about. I mean it does seem like a no-brainer to have Seju x Dowon story extended instead, considering all the complicated factors involved: the truth behind Ahn Chahee's death, Wonnie's past, the assassin targeting Seju and perhaps Saehyun's motive to protect Seju. I don't see all these could be resolved in just mere 14 chapters (assuming it's going to be the length as Paradise).
As for Wonnie, I find her appearance to be a refreshing change compared to the other women in the series. Her tanned skin gives her a healthy glow, and she's physically fit without looking overly butch. Saehyun is sure confident that she has what it takes to protect and look after Seju. Although I'm excited about the theory of her being an assassin who would do a John Wick if someone messes with her President, I doubt it's going to be that extravagant :P She may just be a swimmer who has a dark past of her own.
God damn, that reveal at the end. Turns out this wasn't going to be a straight forward, happily ever after story.
This is going to be a tough pill for Seju to swallow if and when she does learns the truth about Wonnie, which most likely would happen soon in the next chapter (seems like a suspicious person is over at the villa, maybe it's the same female assassin who will attack Seju once more). I imagine she would end up feeling betrayed, thinking this caretaker all the time had genuinely cared for her without any motives involved

Highly doubt she was trying to commit suicide, not with Wonnie right there. It's more like she did it to hide her crying eyes after Wonnie shown her this innocent kindness and perhaps you could say she also felt like it, letting her hair down for once. Regardless, the so-called joke was pretty mean though. Wonnie looks like she was re-living her traumatic experience all over again. Maybe the reason why she quit swimming and ran away back to Jeju was due to someone pretty close to her drowned or commit suicide in some other ways. One way or the other, her sad past is definitely coming up.
Who knows. There could be a twist in the end where Seju and Wonnie won't end up together, but they'll remain as good friends who can trust and rely upon one another like they are sworn sisters. The bonds of sismance could be even greater than romance. One doesn't necessarily need a lover to find peace and happiness with their life.
Good lord. Just no. That would be an even worse outcome than having a super non realistic story like right now, and also very unrealistic to boot since Won IS hot lol
As far as lack of realism goes, I would much prefer an ending in which Seju finds out her family killed her mom, finally gets fed up with being a pushover of life and hires assassins to eliminate everyone that ever did her wrong, including Sumin and Sungji. This would be incredibly satisfying.
What, you want Seju to go mad queen?
That'll be an even worse ending than the Game of Thrones finale lol.
As much as I'm enjoying the sweet and innocent moments so far between them, I would like to see how they'll handle the bad time together. Overcoming a conflict situation does bring the couple closer and lets us know their relationship will actually work out, after all, no matter what drama throws at them. Sumin and Seju failed in that regard ten years ago, whereas Sumin and Sungji succeeded.
Lol the issue is that according to Team GJ, couples can only succeed if one of the 2 is a freaking doormat who asks no questions and is ready to jump into sex and move in together right after they got cheated. What a great lesson!
Apparently Sumin and Seju are in the wrong for having some pride and personality like most real couples.
Sumin felt pretty bad for cheating on Sungji. And unlike Seju, she did not try to shift any blame whatsoever on Sungji, making it sound like it was her fault too. Perhaps that's why Sungji was willing to be more forgiving to grant her another chance. Seju, on the other hand, chooses her words poorly and as a result, she blew her chance.
Who knows. There could be a twist in the end where Seju and Wonnie won't end up together
I do not think the author would choose that road though. I think they know that many readers want to see Seju moving on with other partner, or at least being able to find herself a bed buddy. Also, it would be sad to not draw Seju naked or her sex scene at all.
True enough. It's pretty doubtful the author would disappoint the Seju fans with anything other than the lovers route.
Their current publishing platform Kakao doesn't allow explicit sex scenes containing nudity. So that dream certainly won't come true, at least not in the manhwa itself.>
TappyToon has mature versions though. So it might be possible the explicit scenes will be released there instead.

I know we are way past 'Paradise'. And I am not trying to stir up any sumin x seju ending… But I am just really curious about this scene from Chapter 104.
https://imgur.com/m7M9AdgCan someone explain what does this say/imply? LOL
Looks like Seju's stepmother or sister in law was trying to set her up with a blind date. Sumin could have sworn she saw her girlfriend when dining out with her parents.
Obviously, Seju has no interest for a husband and decided to skip the appointment, which earned her a slap across the cheek from her stepmother / sister in law for making her look bad.
Well, to each their own, it's only 3 chapters so far in One, and I personally don't believe it's a fair judgment to be so dismissive towards the new character when the story hasn't even finished. Chances are, Won could end up being a well-written character who has a demon of her own (which she seemingly does after confessing she ran away) that she needs to overcome, not merely just a plot device to heal Seju for her happily ever after ending.
Nonetheless, I understand the skepticism. As much as I like WDTFS, there are things that could have made the story flow better. For starters, the constant flashbacks of Sumin x Seju should have been cut down. It doesn't seem all that necessary IMHO to keep reminding the readers every chapter or two that they used to love each other tenderly and meant the world for one another. These panels could have been replaced with more meaningful interactions between Sumin x Sungji, showing an even stronger case they're the main couple. As for Seju, if they were going to introduce a love interest to help her move on from Sumin then I felt they should have introduced her during the main story instead, so it wouldn't give this impression that the new girl is just an afterthought. Love Doctor, for example, executed the healing process better for the ex who lost out in the end. At least that ballet dancer girl (forgot her name) was able to make a friend whom she could confide her problems, showing a possible hint they may be romantically involved in the future.
I can only hope if Team Gaji does make a new project, they would recognize the problems they had in WDTFS so they could create an even better series.
Ultimately, it is up to the author at the end of the day how she wants to tell the story. No stories are perfect. It's impossible for a writer to please everyone. There's always going to be a certain aspect a reader may not like about the story and the characters no matter how well written the others find them.
I'm kind of annoyed with the constant flashbacks of Sumin and Seju's past, mainly because it gives off this negative wave that the character can't see the present and therefore can't move forward to the future. Nonetheless, I'm willing to give the author the benefit of doubt and hope they are there to serve its purposes by the time the story is completely finished. And FYI, I do pay for the series. I actually signed up on Lezhin a while ago and then TappyToon when the series got relocated. It's refreshing for a change to read a yuri series revolving the lives of adult lesbians and their drama.
So it's better to just put everyone out of their respective miseries and let them get back together. Because Team GJ said this is a story of healing but I haven't seen anyone healing yet, least of all the readers, who are still crazy reactive to any SejuxSumin scenes if the FB group and some others are any indication. It's super interesting, like...chapter full of SungjixSumin? 10 comments....SejuxDowon? same...SejuxSumin? 100+ comments and people literally going nuts writing essays.
It's because the latest chapter also focused about Sumin's taking revenge on Seju to make Seju hate her and give up, and the same topic about "Who's at fault" repeated over again. I guess it will never stop as both Team Black or Team Pink all have their own argument to defend their favs. In short, it is WAR, nothing to feel proud of. Tbh, Seju and Sumin were too toxic to one another, they should have just stayed away from each other's life from now on. And even if Sumin might someday get mature enough, realize her mistakes, apologize to Seju and ask for her forgiveness. It's not like Seju will also stay at same spot to give her another chance. Vice versa. Time passes, things change. We all know that.
The reason some people think Seju and Sumin fit better is because of their strong unbreakable bond that has been built for 17 years, Team Gaji showered us with a bunch of their flashbacks, our points of view would change if they show us more of Sumin x Sungji and Seju x Dowon in the future. I don't know about others but as one member of Team Pink, I really hope Seju would get together with anyone else, but Sumin, as nothing will change even if they got back together, if yes it would be just a little bit. Seju's past and upbringing is awful enough, I hope to see someone protect her, not her to protect or treasure anyone even when she doesn't have enough mental stability and strength to do so. In short, I don't want to see a fake Seju anymore.
This part is where I felt Team Gaji has done it too excessively, overpowering Sumin x Sungji scenes with flashbacks of Sumin x Seu, creating these strong doubts that the former shouldn't be the end game couple.
Blooming Sequence imo has handled it better in terms of the development between the main couple and the second love interest. Just like Seju, Yi-Hwa is another sympathetic character who had caused pain and misery towards her ex in the past. We see just enough scenes of Yi-Hwa and Ha-Young together along with memories of their past. And for a time, there was a suggestion that they should get back together. But ultimately, the main girl Seowoo ended up winning the hearts of the majority readers when she finally got her shit together.
Sigh I suppose it's to be expected that Seju will struggle the hardest of letting go of the past, considering she spent the last 17 years of her life living and waiting for Sumin only. It's just the flashbacks of Sumin saying these spiteful words to Seju like "I'll continue until you suffer and can't stand it. Until you become like me." irks me and brings me back to a point that I dislike what Sumin did. I mean she tormented Seju for ten years, treating her like some dog over the one mistake and yet she went ahead to repeat the same mistake when she cheated on Sungji. She's just so lucky Sungji is quick to forgive her and grant her another chance. Hopefully, this is the one and only time the memory of Sumin appears in this story.
I'm glad the chapter isn't entirely sad and depressing, mainly because of Won. It was a pretty nice touch of her lending her shoulder for Seju to comfortably rest on. Most importantly, that princess carry at the end has me squealing in delight :)
The way Seju is looking at Won with her longing eyes and her hand reaching out does seem suggestive like she wants to kiss her. Obviously, since Won is such a gentlewoman, I doubt she would take advantage of a drunk lady like a certain bartender could have done in the past. Maybe it's my imagination but it does feel like Seju is becoming more real should I say? Like she doesn't have to act fake as she does with other people and suppressed her miserable feelings when she's with Won. She can just be herself and talk about her problems freely. It makes her look prettier as a result.
Can't wait for the next chapter. Team Brink all the way!
