I don't know what changed, maybe it's on the second read that I realized the main girl WAS trying to weasel her way out of the collision situation, and the manager was also leveraging the situation to try and get her to work at the cafe. And the two side characters with fake personalities probably didn't help either..

Maybe it's time to review the other version I read..

Holy crap, I didn't think I'd see a battle royale type story that's worse than battle royale.

A list of particularly bad/funny things I've noticed:
- everyone's natural affinity for close quarters combat
- dagger wins against a Katana
- chainsaw
- shackle poison going off as soon as it was touched, yet no one dies from running around and tumbling all the time

I have a pretty low standard when it comes to Yuri, but this is among the 2% I will not be checking again.

This manga is just too wonderful. With every chapter I got more and more insight, character understanding, yuri, and tease haha. The story (and humor) is daily fresh, the art bold and clean, the girls in a schoolgirls atmosphere made me squirm with delight lol. Definitely one of my favorite.

I know how you feel, I came across this series when I was browsing, and it amazed me how little readership it had, because Torajirou is definitely the epitome of "less is more", and he did an amazing job in Virgin's Empire, making it one of the longest running Yuri series.

Singular "they", as a generic term for unknown people whose gender is not known, has been in common use in English since at least the 14th century and is absolutely an accepted part of standard English grammar.

Further, singular "they" where referring to known individuals, such as those who are nonbinary and so forth, is accepted by the AP Style Guide, the Washington Post Style Guide, the Oxford English Dictionary, Mirriam-Webster English Dictionary, and pretty much all other major references on English grammar.

Nez is right about that, it reminds me of when I helped create a project marking scheme in college. We weren't allowed to use "he" or "she" to refer to a single person.

Well I didn't expect a Yui7 piece to not leave me feeling like I need a large dose of anti-depressants. Hooray!

This really burns my soul. I recommend putting Pearl Jam's "Black" on when you read this.

Does anyone else feel like the recent chapters are a little underwhelming? The story, to me, doesn't have nearly as much impact as it did in the opening chapters.

When this series started, I thought it was pretty similar to the way how each character was a metaphor for an attitude/philosophy toward life in Norweigian Wood (Haruki Murakami novel). But now Touko's character is starting to feel a little bit empty, like she's centered around the obsession with her sister and not much more than that.

I know that's how the author intended it to be, but I feel like Touko should have a bit more depth in her character. We never even see her display any real personality, all traces of her genuine emotions seem to be exclusive to Yuu, and it's kinda of hard to imagine her being free of her sister's shadow when her own personality has been eluding the world for so long. But again, teenagers are highly malleable so maybe that's the direction the series will take.

I think what really bothered me the first time I read this, was the fact that Sato didn't seem to care about Sono at all, and Hiroko was probably trying harder than Sato in every aspect of their respective relationships. One-sided love always kind of bugs me for that reason.

So I read the spin-off based on Hiroko, and after a few years of getting over Sono, she finds someone else. I'm.. moderately happy? I guess?

God damn it. I feel so bad for Hiroko that this almost feels like netorare to me. The part where Hiroko rushed to pick up Soon after she faints always gets me.

I'm honestly getting tired how promiscuous characters always end up being tools to develop the story, same thing happened in Dear My Teacher too (hey at least in that one the Teacher wasn't as bitchy as Satomi).

I don't think I've seen anyone notice how Kana's ponytailed friend is probably the bully who stole the wallet from pranking the pranker.

I thought that too, the hair color is similar, but it's a difficult call because manga characters usually sport one hairstyle for life unless the plot explicitly mentions a change in their hairstyle. There's a very good reason for that too: since artists usually end up drawing very similar faces, hair style/accessories kind of become unique identifiers, and it would confuse people if they were changed around often.

Also, in https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/the_useless_senpai_and_the_talented_kouhai, it was shown that the bully plays sports without a ponytail, so she probably won't wear a ponytail to a video rental shop.
