I'm really curious - as our tiny sample size mostly plays to tropes, or doesn't actually address bisexuality at all - are there any manga that actually have a positive bisexual character?

Octave? Setsuko is arguably bisexual altough of course it is really of no big relevance too the story.

Must say that I'm happy with all the posts on Natsunekos works lately, don't really know how I managed to avoid reading all of them before now.

Morishima is quite good at pacing the story in Hanjuku Joshi. There have been more than a few mangaka who go past 5 chapters and the story lines start needlessly meandering for shiggles.

Yeah, this is one of those manga that are just note perfect throughout. A great beginning, a great middle and a great end.

Well i'm also having alot of trouble interpretating this, but the way i understood it all of the sex was in her head including the part where she confirmed it was all a dream. Then on her way home from school her encounter with the other precures (not sure if them hindering her was a delusion or not) and turned into a selfish (the we won't let you see mana triggering it) then killed them for getting between her and Mana. Then upon meeting Mana, she managed to reason with her and by giving her, her desire helped her return to normal.

You know Sol, you should be sharing some of these series with all this yuri. While I highly doubt they can pass up Marimite for pseudo-romance, or Simoun for actual canon lesbians, I'm interested.

I saw some of a channel and yuruyuri but they was based on a 4 koma manga and was ...not what i look for in the romance genre...i've also seen a 'few cute girls do cute things' anime series appearing but again it's just...

Maria sama was, in my opinion, not just fantastic pseudo romance...it is probably one of the best romance anime titles i have seen. The epic melodrama over such trivial things, the music, the pacing... every time i've watched it it's never lost any of it's impact.(..i can't bring myself to abreviate it as marimite because it reminds me of that rancid sludge that some crazies spread on their toast or whatever..)

And Simoun is more than just a romance...it's an epic sci-fi romance with layered themes about war,religion, childhood, adulthood, innocence lost etc...and its far removed from something like natsuiro kiseki, if that was the sort of thing you(Sol) were referring to.

...but that's just my opinion...:P

Well just looking at last year there would be one proper yuri romance (altough it isn't very good) in the kuttsukiboshi OVA. Also easy too mention but non really romance focused like Simoun would be Moretsu pirates, Black rock shooter and Symphogear. Then there's a sea of more subtexty stuff like Saki A-Hen, Rinne no lagrange etc. Altough still nothing really like Marimite.

Also would recommend the currently ongoing Yuyushiki, altough its in similar style to yuruyuri/A channel.

I was confused is tomoya a girl or boy? It used "he" in the story but was later seen dress in girl uniform and being called -chan.

Should be a guy and the dress was becuase thats how Mihane visualised their relationship after getting married.

Would be interested in knowing how many things are tagged for Nanoha and Saki, being the two after Touhou with lots of Yuri doujins.

I gotta say that i'm glad with the large influx of Lucky Star doujins that has been uploaded now, altough this one just feels too damn good when you read it that it should be removed again.

I think we should implement a system where the more controversial and negative the response to a chapter is on the forums the more likely that chapter is to become featured and permanent.

That would be stupid as it would most likely decrease the amount of entertaining whine posts about it on the forums, those really add up to make crappy stuff really entertaining. Talking about that you need to really upload something to beat oshikko sensei in that category. ;p

And I'm betting that it will never be revealed, it being Yuruyuri we are talking about and all.

I wouldn't say this is in anyway one of the worst mangas ever. It's weird as fuck sure, but it's got great art, a truly unique premise, it plays with the cliches and conventions of TV shows like Ultraman (I very much enjoy how the monsters look like bad special effects) and the characters are nice and interesting.

Also a big naked girl which is nice.

There is infinitely worse stuff out there, including on this reader.

Ok, let me correct myself the worst manga that i've read to the end of the translated stuff, even though i kept on moaning about it every page ;p

It was good, I'm glad it finally ended, and it did so very appropriately. But at the same time, we never even got a proper resolution for the young lesbians ('less I missed it), which leaves me feeling like they were wholly useless in the grand scheme of the story...oh well!

Also yeah it's good to see it end before it starts going on forever, i'm hoping (also kinda dreading as it's the manga that got me into yuri) Aoi Hana ends soon altough i probably shouldn't worry about that as it does seem to be wrapping things up a bit.
