There's an issue exactly because it's his characters. If it were some random artist, it'd just be fanwork, but he's a representative for this work as its author. Basically, it's an image issue.

I don't agree with what they're doing, but I can see where they're coming from.

Well, it'd be a problem for people if the author himself was drawing porn of his characters. The account I believe you're referring to was an unofficial one which didn't use his name and was marked female. I'm guessing his contract doesn't allow him to but he just went and did it anyway.

Just wanna say thanks for speaking out, every time this thread gets bumped more hate comments just flow in, not of any constructive kind either, it's getting pretty ridiculous.

I'm guessing a few weeks has passed since the last episode where we last saw Mamori Swooning just at the sight of Akira, even posters, now it's become more like a passing thought, which makes me glad I didn't get upset over last episode. Her crush on Akira seemed something more akin to idol worship and Mirei was even happy with how the whole thing turned out since it cheered her up.

Pleasantly surprised with Mamori's development so far, she's really come to accept the whole ecstar/liberator thing, accepting how her role can help others, even initiating the trance herself. I have a huge gripe with shy characters which never grow out of their shell, like their only purpose is to be meek and feeble and needless to say, I'm glad the series has managed to avoid these pitfalls.

And now I find that most of BL isn't actually tagged BL but rather tagged '腐向け' meaning, very liberally, 'Fujoshi stuff'. That explains a lot, I was thinking it shouldn't deviate this much from source to source. I really don't understand why it's tagged like that, though I guess it clears up any doubts on the target audience.

It's not just the image count, the overall views is more than double, point being that it generally reaches a wider audience there. I don't actually see why a Yuri artist being a male is a problem though?

This article looks at fanfiction pretty much exclusively, but I can't imagine the same doesn't apply to the doujinshi scene as well.

I was curious about this, the pattern seems even more obvious on this site. http://2.novelist.jp/tag_list.php. That is 3.1k BL stories to about 100 Yuri ones. Pixiv, on the other hand, has 123k Yuri tags as opposed to 40k BL tags in illustrations, and 31k and 25k respectively in Light Novels.

Whatever the ending at least we will have dedicated fans that will make one shot manga and fan fiction about reina and kumiko. I will read all of them and replace the ending if its bad with the fan made ending. ReinaXKumiko will happen regardless of original material. No one can stop the yuri train.
