That dialogue felt very stilted, like it was translated via Google. I had such a hard time attempting to understand the dialogue I still didn't fully get the flashback...

I sometimes hallucinate my cat walking around a corner or the sound of their meows (I had three, all distinct). I even keep a second office chair next to me at all times because one of them loved to sit next to me. +1 on the abrupt ending. There was no closure with the side characters, felt super rushed.
I didn't even care for the main characters either. I knew Yayoi was going to end it with the original couple but I didn't expect that much fucking drama in 5 chapters.
I'll keep the original one-shot as canon and promptly forget about this series. Unnecessary drama is unnecessary.

How are they not dating after Maho said last issue "I love you and want to see you as my lover" and Chovy responds "I love you too"?

THERE's the stock dark past behind her powers. For a second there I thought this main character wanted to help people because she wanted to help people.
In all seriousness, I think that mysterious character is either A) the child's mom seeking "revenge" (aka "you're the reason my child died"; or
B) the child herself, also becoming a superhero, and a comedic love triangle is born.
I'm more leaning on the latter

Kinda lukewarm about this one. Feels like it just... ends? No real ending, no conclusion, no context. Almost like the start of a multi-chapter series that pulls a to be continued, Jojo style, because the author needed to get SOMETHING out.
Liked the dissolving arm, way too many people go the easy route and literally turn them into bubbles. Mild gore's real nice as long as it doesn't squick out too many readers

I'm in the camp of thinking these two juxtapose the light, fluffy feeling of the rest of the series in a HORRIBLE way. Give me happy endings over these weird, dark underlying tones any day.
Ch. 5 had a way better way of conveying what happened anyways
