It's nice to have a couple of chapters where everyone is less of an asshole to each other and are relatively normal lovey-dovey couples. I think is nice that the story is ending soon and not being dragged to eternity but I feel like there is not enough chapter to give proper closure to all the couples.

Shion and Frost are so similar that it is no wonder they are immediately going for each other's throats, that said, Shion is pretty interesting despite being nothing more than a huge Violet simp right now, it must be her design. I'm curious about what Violet is plotting, certainly can't be anything good but I trust Clarice to be savvy enough to deal with her.

Frost just happening to pick the earrings meaning for your beloved is a huge coincidence, could it be that Clarice if starting to thaw her ice heart?

And once again, it felt like this chapter was setting the end game, I wonder how long Dorothy can keep the mystery going.

Arata isn't even a character, he is just a plot device to explore Yuzu's motivations and insecurities.

It still feels like Yuzu is creating an artificial crisis for herself here, to me at least. I guess I'd understand it more if it was all still an obvious stand-in for her own insecurities about Mei getting too close with Arata, but it's somehow gone beyond that now and she truly wants to save the other academy. I don't really get why she should care that much about it. I guess Yuzu is just this kindhearted a person and it's in her nature to help.

Yuzu is definitely overthinking here, I don't know why she's assuming Akamine Academy will get wiped when everything so far points to merely becoming either the male branch of Aihara or that both academies will fuse into a bigger mixed academy. She even comes off as slightly condescending towards Arata by assuming he is being kept out of the loop despite the negotiations having gone on for a while. At least is nice that Sabu didn't take the easy way and use Arata for more romantic misunderstandings.

I'm more curious about what is going on with Harumin, is she having second thoughts about going to college or is she planning to go to a different college than Yuzu (Overboard maybe?) Also, her grandma is pretty cool, the best adult in the series since Ume.

This series keeps getting denser and wackier at the same time that I stopped trying to predict what will happen. Masaki is weirdly endearing by being so blunt and forceful about her interest in Aizawa (a crush?) and it was pretty nice to have her confront Michi about her feelings for girls.

Also, have I mentioned how much I love all the silly faces characters do?

Regarding the "one wish" thing, to play devil's advocate, this is supposed to be a game and that kind of convenient plot device are dime a dozen. It will be interesting to see how that will translate with actual characters and not just npcs following a script.

I'm still not convinced about the Lapis is Aurora theory. It seems too contrived for my liking, but I'm convinced that Nekotarou is good enough of a writer to pull it off if that is where the story is heading. The OT3 or Poly route on the other hand is something that I'm certain it has zero chance of happening, everything is building up to the Lapis and Natori endgame.

The amount of detail and the fact she got an entire volume bonus to herself really is coming off as foreshadowing that she will be sucked into the game sooner or later

I really like this series, everything is progressing smoothly and I appreciate that just 7 chapters in we learned about the Day of the Ashes instead of being dragged on. I wonder if there's a meaning on the dragon looking so similar to Frost's Black Knight armor.

On their fanbox, Sometime and Suou talk quite a bit about what happens on each new chapter, and the updates are free so are a good read to understand more about the series. In these posts, Sometime posted the reference sheets of the two new characters: Violet and Shion

While Suou promises that with the introduction of them, the yuri will expand from Clarice and Frost's relationship into new and unexpected directions.

We're this far in the story and I still can't decide if the sisters abuse is meant to make them endearing or what. Like, is obviously played for laughs but the way they jump straight to punishments is somewhat unnerving.

I really love this series, Clarice is such a fun protagonist and Frost is an interesting take on the rough and mysterious love interest you usually find.

Well, you have to remember that Rubeus was such a minor character that he didn't even have a portrait of his own when Natori played the game.

After thinking about it, the climax makes sense, but the villain himself isn't very interesting.

That is intentional. Rubeus wasn't supposed to be a villain, he got thrown into the role to try and keep the story from going off-rails from Natori's involvement.

The selfless and genuine part I'm talking about is Lapis deciding to push away Natori when the time comes because she knows how much of a messed up person she is.

Is amazing how tight and well-written this series is, Neko Taoru has proven herself to be one of the best yuri writers and artists in the business. The pacing is just perfect not too slow but not too fast either and every single character has been given a great depth no matter how big or small their role is in the plot.

I think this chapter has further cemented Lapis and Natori as the end pairing while Diana hopefully gets together with someone else (ideally another girl but Gran has proved himself a nice enough fellow so). I think the ending shows a very interesting contrast between Lapis and Diana's the nature of their love for Natori. Diana is somewhat immature and her desire to give Natori up is clear not something that is entirely genuine but more of an obligation she felt while Lapis' is 100% selfless and genuine. She really thinks that the she will only end up hurting Natori if they stay together and this is why she believes she must let her go.

Is going to be very interesting to see how this will develop in the future, will Natori be able to change the plot enough for Lapis to drop her quest for vengeance? Or will Lapis decide to be selfish for once and keep her relationship with Natori and to hell with the consequences?

Oh, and I still think that Rubeus is gay for Gran.
