This chapter was a mixed bag for me; on one hand, it's nice that the drama didn't get pointlessly dragged on, but at the same time, it feels like everything was solved way too easily. As someone mentioned earlier, this pretty much cleared 95% of the major plot points we had, so is hard to tell where the story will go now. Furthermore, Frost's backstory was surprisingly straightforward. Again, normally I would be happy with this, but for some reason I feel unsatisfied with the reveals, and given her personality, I doubt she is an unreliable narrator. That said, something odd is definitely happening with her, I'm willing to be that white hair has a larger meaning than just being an albino or her dad losing the fight with recessive genes.

Lastly, Dahlia is about to do something stupid, isn't she?

The covers become less horny and more dramatic as the series progresses tho

And the vol 1 cover got recontextualized when it was reused for the special edition of citrus+ vol 1

Funnily enough, if you go back and re-read the final chapter episode of citrus, it can be argued that Yuzu and Mei did fuck offscreen.

Ah, so she meant the climax of the current arc. Thanks

Nekotarou posted some cryptic tweets while asking people to vote for the series on a popularity poll.

You can vote until noon tomorrow! Please support this work as the story moves towards its climax...!

We've started to get to the heart of the matter, but it's not over yet...!! Don't worry about that...!! The real story begins once we understand the heart of the matter...!!

So we're reaching the climax, but the story is just beginning?

That Yuzu felt a jealousy jealousy only shows her insecurity and that she has not matured, but the most important thing is the lack of communication with her partner.

Exactly, that is precisely the point of the scene.

" are no silent masses in Citrus+," you just have to enter several pages and yuri theme forums, Citrus+ is not in your prime. That does not mean that I have no sales, I buy each volume that It comes out in my country and sells internationally Because it is citrus , but that does not mean that there are other Yuris much more commented in certain parts. The problem of Citrus+ is not its periodicity, it is its irregularity and lack of communication and The clear example we have this month where it was reported that there would be chapter and in the end it has not come out

That is what I said, yes, that the problem with citrus in the Spanish fandom is the constant breaks and not the quality of the writing. Also, I don't know where people got that there would be a new chapter this month (or next one) when it wasn't on YH list of contents.

Well Citrus and Citrus+ has more popularity and demand than those series, so naturally a break would be felt more. The schedule is also more irregular--breaks aren't consistent. Those breaks are mostly what I see discussed across the board as well. I don't think the direction has been much of a tangible issue overall outside of some forum complaints (tangible meaning objective measures like sales, circulation, etc.). Here, it's mostly the same people posting, who knows what the silent masses have to say.

You have a point and I assume is related with the weird fixation the fandom has for seeing Yuzu and Mei fucking. I mean sure, it would be nice but I don't think that is something that would add something meaningful to the story as a whole.

What do you think will happen with Arata moving forward? I'm also interested in when this series will end. I'm assuming once this project is over but I could see it going beyond that. Sabu seems to have the freedom from the publication to extend this (or delay this) as long as she wants.

I think Arata is sort of placing Yuzu in Mei's place so I think that he will be inspired by Yuzu and Mei into taking matters with his own hands instead of just blindly following his parents, becoming an actor instead of being a mere spectator, so to speak.

The series is definitely meant to end in their wedding so I believe it will end when Sabu feels she doesn't have anything more to add to Yuzu and Mei's story. We don't have a concrete date for their wedding so it could happen years in the future or just a couple of months. If she decides to continue the series in some shape or form, I imagine it would be a spinoff focusing in Harumin and Matsuri but I think is more likely she will semi-retire. Is clear she is not the fastest artist around and she probably can live comfortably off citrus by now.

Because that's intentional. Arata was introduced as a way to make Yuzu feel truly jealous, and she was just acting out because she didn't know how to deal with those feelings. I'd argue that if the underlying theme in the original story was Mei's personal growth spurred by Yuzu's presence in her life, citrus+ is all about moving Yuzu's character forward.

And at least from the Spanish-speaking side of the fandom, the breaks are the biggest issue people have with the series, weirdly, they don't seem to have an issue with Mahoako, Semalparous or Watayuri's hiatus despite having gone longer without new chapters by this point.

I appreciate how Arata serves as a lens for the Sabu to depict the impact of Yuzu and Mei's relationship, highlighting their personalities and unique style of love through their influence on him. It also gives us insight into their strength as a couple, which gets tied to this school project. The merger feels like that one final test for them both literally and figuratively, so it makes sense that it leads into their marriage timeline-wise. Loved that last page.

I'm still unsure of whether he understands that they're dating or not. That hasn't been clarified right? He says some stuff that leads both ways. I wouldn't be surprised if Mei told him though (maybe even off screen during this chapter?).

Agreed, Arata adds an interesting perspective as an outsider to Mei and Yuzu's relationship while also serving as a foil to Yuzu. And yeah, I think Arata doesn't fully grasp that Mei and Yuzu are actually dating each other and simply assumed they were dating someone else. I still have the inkling that Arata might be gay so this misunderstanding could help his own character arc and thus, mirror Yuzu's perfectly.

Personally I loved this page

It perfectly shows how much Mei loves Yuzu even if she still struggles to show it to Yuzu properly. A far cry of the Mei from the start of the story.

My main problem that there is almost no romance in the serie. In the last 13 years in Citrus life how many kiss happened between Yuzu and Mei? I mean no off screen kisses of course...
I even do not remember on the last one...

The serie should focus on love, romance and drama. Not on the school, work, Arata and other background characters. One episode is ok from them time to time. But a year's worth of episodes?

I want to see why Mei love Yuzu. Really.

Literally three chapters ago, less than a month in-universe

And Yuzu and Mei's romance is intrinsically linked to school and work. Mei opened yo Yuzu because she was the first one that supported her on her dream of succeeding Shou with no strings attached. Mei outright spells it out loud to Arata in the chapter no posted (hopefully yet) here, saying that Yuzu's love is the reason she's able to push forward her plans for the academy.

Arata's goal in the story is to show the change Mei has gone through thanks to Yuzu and to cement her role as the new chairwoman of Aihara

So, when is Alexandra going to have his moment of revelation and realize she has fallen for Diana and has screwed herself over by supporting her attempts to get with Natori?

That was a fun chapter, is nice to see Meiling getting a break for once. And hey, she is still making an effort to learn how to deal and accept Sakuya's love.

frankly its just an educated guess going off risui's previous stuff but i still could be wrong its the option that makes the most sense

I'm legitimately confused as to where you got the implication that this was the related

Frost is adorable and I think she's one of the most likable takes on the "rude with a soft gooey heart" archetype where while she is callous and rude, you can still understand where is coming from and why she's so reluctant on accept Clarice (plus you know, Clarice did marry her to get her hands on Frost's fortune). That said, Clarice being confused as to how approach Frost after kiss is a unequivocal sign that she's fallen in love for real and going by Frost's weary smile, the feeling is reciprocal to some degree.

We also got a little more insight on Dahlia and her relationship with Violet and I'm thinking that the previous Dark Knight was actually Frost's mom-

I must say is impressive how is the only OG Holo ship to still have a on-stream presence while every other has either died or moved off-stream.

Violet and Shion are cute, I assume they will be the deuteragonists of the story. Also, for anyone enjoying the series I encourage you to follow Sometime and Shou's fanbox since they make posts after every chapter telling a little about what happened behind the scenes of that chapter.

I'm so glad that someone finally called out Diana on her BS, heck, Alexandra even comes off as Nekotarou's mouth piece to sunk the idea of a poly ending.

That said, she is a much better match for Diana than Natori who would be very obviously strung along by Diana's personality.

Put me down as another finding the endings pretty underwhelming, especially the ones about the teacher and her student and the manga/editor, it feels like their relationship had a significant change and then came back to the same place with no sign of moving forward anytime soon. Saori and Shizuku never truly moved beyond the tsundere dynamic but it got a better closure, oh well, maybe Mikanuji will come back to those couples in the future and give them a proper resolution.

I just noticed that the bearded guy in Frost's flashbacks, wishing Frost had never born, is wearing the Black Knight Armor, ergo, is her father.

As I said before, Clarice is a fantastic main character. She has avoided so far all the usual pitfalls romance leads fall into and moving the story at a very enjoyable pace while at the same time growing organically as character. Violet on the other hand, still confuses me, she was introduced as you typical corrupt business owner but the more we see of her and her relationship with Shion, the more human and vulnerable she becomes, right now it seems she and Shion will be the begruding allies rather than the rivals.

Shion is a nice foil to Frost but she seems a bit shallow at the moment and is great to see more of Frost's mental state and how utterly terrified she is of letting someone close to her, ironically, she wasn't wrong, Clarice did have ulterior motives to marry her so I fully expect this little secret to come back and bit Clarice's in the ass down the line.

Lastly, for some reason, I assumed the little girl in Frost's flashback was Shion, implying she is the reason Shion is missing an eye.

I cracked up at Natori looking at Lapis before returning Diana's greeting. Poor Diana is not even in the race and she doesn't know it. That said, Diana going all-in on ignoring teamwork just to show off and then antagonizing Alexandra because of her ties to Lapis is kind of grating and doesn't show Diana in a positive light. Here's hoping this tournament arc actually gives Diana the development she needs and more importantly, it sticks.
