I haven't seen anyone point this out, so:
I don't remember if the manga already talked about it, but most of the cast member are supposed to be 16. And Rei used to be a salarywoman before coming to this world.
So wouldn't that mean someone who's in her early to mid-20s has a crazy romantic obsession with someone that's only 16?

I don't think this really needs the spoiler tags, but eh, just in case...

I mean, this is the case with most isekai (and other reincarnation fantasy), better just not to think too hard about this. It gets even worse when you consider those who gained their memories at a much younger age, some even at birth. In any case, they're old enough to know what they're doing both in their world and in most saner parts of ours.

More possible evidence to the mom maybe knowing, chapter 1 page 17, after Saki says how beautiful the random stranger she saw was and beaming while retelling the scene, mom silently smiles with a "hmm".

Very much noted this myself in my comment for the first chapter over at MAL when I started reading this as well (didn't bother commenting here since there were already a number of chapters out by the time):

It's difficult to tell how aware she is of it herself, but her mother certainly seems to have grasped that Saki prefers girls, judging by her reaction to the piano teacher's marriage - she may just as well have said outright that Saki was only learning it because she was in love with the teacher. And the lack of reaction to her gushing over Kanon as well. :D

There is another half to the quandry and that is if Akane doesnt register Nadeshiko then she is stealable. And having another person register would at worst be like abduktion and brainwashing and at best being forcefully married to a stranger

I mean that's just one worm in the huge can that is the entire problematic of sentient machines as property.

I honestly don't see this really happening in our reality because of 3 reasons; human rights law, manufacturing & economics. Robots are complicated & expensive, especially humanoid android (the human face alone can have upto 30 muscles depending on how they're counted). To make a humanoid robot would require a lot of money, resources & programming to get these devices up & running. Technologically it's very possible but economically it would incur massive financial loses.

The second humanoid sentient robots are granted human rights, the companies would only be making a loss on their creation and so, they wouldn't. The modern supply chain issues is a great example of why pulling this off in secret is practically impossible on a large scale.

Then imagine the maintenance involved. How often do you need to take your car to get checked up or repaired? One of the fundamentals of engineering is the more moving parts there are the easier for the system to fail. Then what happens if a robotics manufacturing company inevitably runs out of money & goes bankrupt, like what happens with cars?

No-way could this happen unless the robots were all programmed with self-building, self-repair & a wireless cooperation network.

Amusingly enough, there was an article on sex robots in a local newspaper here just today. Apparently we'll still have to wait for decades to see this, though.
