I can sorta-kinda see that in the sense that it's a subgroup of doujinshi, but in practice it just ends up a bit of a dog's breakfast.
I don't see the issue really. This is similar to how sadpanda works. If you browse the doujinshi category it has special "parody" tag and if it isn't based on any existing work then it's not shown so you know it's original.
But I guess for people it doesn't matter where the thing came from.

I think he meant the first yuri manga in general. I don't know if that's true but it certainly the oldest I've read considering it's from 1971.
As for the work, it really has the classic melodramatic tragic ending feel that was ever so popular in the 70s. That was especially true in cases of same-sex pairings. This is neither good or bad, it really depends on how "hardcore" you like your drama.

Don't see it as something that's negative. With all the games coming out from "established" developing houses that shoot you products that cost 70$ and have under 30 hours of content, you have much to be happy about with a game that can have that much.
Well that's my perpsective on things, but then again I look fondly at the thousand of hour ( and plus ) I spent playing Infinity Engine RPGs ( Baldur's Gate 1-2 / Planescape : Torment / Icewind Dale 1-2 ). That NVN and all the modding communities that allowed for such an experience that kept on growing really.

What I meant is not about the timeframe but rather that a cliffhanger that ends on a possible very good note makes me want to have it more than the ch 11 cliffhanger because that was a "negative" cliffhanger.
a resolution was reached a little too quickly and peacefully. I wonder where Saburouta will take chapter 13 next? Maybe having grandfather return home? As a result, Mei decides to return home with her grandfather (as a dutiful child should)?

It's not underrated at all, simply it's not simple entertainment so a lot of people just end up dropping it because you might actually have to stop and process what you've just read a few times and that's scary.
also, this is totally a year and 15 chapters too late, but the Marii Yukari character reminded me a bit of Michael Weiss's charactrer Jarrod in the tv series The Pretender.
Was an interesting series, but like previous poster I agree that it was sort of on the week side when it came to science. I guess it's from different time, nowadays a lot of writers team up with advisers that are expert in the field. Kind of like a lot of mangaka have a doctor on speed dial for his medical manga etc...
Since knowledge is so easily available online nowadays they are kind of forced to be better, because anyone can google the particular thing happening in an episode and realize it's way off. It forces the industry to have higher standard, and that's always a good thing for us the customers!
As for Michael Weiss, the character I will remember him by is really not a lot of lines, but I've spent hours of my life hearing them...

Simply not true, this is just typical fabricated stuff pseudo-psychology I'm seeing here. The fact of the matter is, it's very hard to ignore morals so the argument falls apart almost instantly. The only time where morals are ignored is when an anger is so great it's uncontrollable, this is usually the male route since those testosterone levels make it easier to reach that level.
The only time when women do actually invoke this "Me vs X" is when they are very fearful, that instict of self-preservation is strong. You always hear stories about how a women stabbed her abusing husband/ an aggressor 40 times. But reaching that level only happens in extreme terror and is not likely to happen a lot. Most often accomplished in a dark place in buck fuck nowhere or against a terror ( the evil husband ) so great it's the stuff of nightmares really.

Final fantasy 13... you have no idea how disappointed I was when I bought it and started playing.
As a FF fan it broke my heart for so many reasons...
1. Even more Linear than FFX and that's with YEARS later with a more powerful console. It literally holds you hands for the first 3-4(5?) chapters of the game as well.

MMOs... Totally agree with how it's become casual town. I played WoW from release ( 2004 ) till early 2009 and it keeps getting worse and worse over time. From the lore that's butchered to the easy PvE content to the fact that devs don't care about PvP and it's just the worse shit ever.

True, it reminds me of the old shoujo yuri tragedies and the Yuri from the 90s, very dark stuff, it was always about the evil men doing the raping and female love interests would often die in the end. I'm sure Yurilovefan would kill himself/herself if we went back in time to that era.

Meh i lost a loooooot of respect for the big sister this chapter, her having a fuckbuddy is OK with me, her sleeping around and having an affair with a married man? not so OK with me, in fact i really hate people like that.

You have to understand that in this day and age you can't joke about stuff that might be about a serious and very sore subject for people. Back in the day, there wasn't much off-limits but now you have to watch out not to "trigger" anyone!

A lot of good writers do the same thing. In fact, a lot of just plain writers use the same technique. Good or bad doesn't rest on using characters like that, it rests on execution.
I understand this but the reason why I pointed out in this particular case is because of the title below ( and other works as well ).
This author doesn't just make morally dubious to make plotting easy, he/she makes every single character a person which you would not like to frequent, so you can ride that roller coaster of NTR/cheating/( insert anything here ).

You can also throw in the aspect that ever since their parents died/left, the responsibility of running the family fell to her pretty early, and this can be taken as one way to claim a part of her own life for herself only. It may be escapism, but it's a chance for her to be a bit selfish and play a different role without hurting her sisters.
It's a little bit illogical if, as portrayed this chapter, the man she went in the love hotel with is indeed a married man.
Her actions might not hurt her sisters but she's obviously hurting a woman and a little girl ( which should remind her if her family ) by sleeping with a taken man.
Then again, the author might be showing us something like that to make us understand that she's in dire need of help and comfort but really cannot find anyone to be that person for her.
Also, this is a quote from my comment on another site.
I think this author has the habit of making morally dubious characters so that it becomes easier to insert a shitload of drama into the story without bending characters out of character.
It's an easy, efficient way of doing things but it does show a lack of skill as a writer in some respect.

Only thing though.. since when can you surgically remove a tattoo? Cut out a big chunk of skin (they go deeper than just surface too) and then kinda stretch or graft skin back over?? There's no such gross tattoo removal method i've ever heard of..
As far as i know its done with a laser and requires multiple applications- getting about 25% fainter each time- i'd guess each visit needs a while between them too? You are maybe left with a very faint mark- but certainly no scar.
So unless I am missing something it seems very silly and the author misunderstanding and not researching tattoo removal ?
Edit - ok it seems older pre laser methods like abrasion + acid and skin grafts even were used some - but i seriously doubt you could get it done like that now when such a simple way as laser has replaced them- and a graft wouldn't leave a single vertical scar either way.
Its a fairly minor point in a good story but..

WTF? In chapter 9, the fat kid LITERALLY loses like OVER 100 POUNDS out of nowhere. As if the story wasn't already terrible, but now the art of this series is just not good and beyond inconsistent. A diet does not explain a decrease in circumference of such epic proportions so quickly. He was an actual sphere last chapter and now he barely has any fat whatsoever? Naw. I call all the bullshit. I WISH IT WAS THAT EASY AND THAT FAST ACTING!
He's lost 6 kilos. There's the possibility that for a few panels after this was mentioned it was to show his "progress" or his "will" that he was downsized, maybe he'll be back fat next chapter. Or maybe the mangaka doesn't like drawing fat characters, who knows?
