This chapter (40) just made me let out a deep sigh. I wanted to ask if the author is running out of ideas, but to be honest it takes a creative level of stupid to come up with something like this. Like I get that breaking out of tropes is becoming the new trope, but not like this...

When I first watched the show I thought we'd get more Kita and Ryou stuff. Considering she apparently had a crush(?) on her.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm just surprised.

That level of smugness should be illegal.

Unless it's handled in a weird way, it might be another "Oh no I'm gay?!" moment for a side character.
Can't wait for the sequel to this manga. "About a world that was turned gay by a college girl who gets picked up at a mixer party by an older girl and the older girl."

I'm starting to appreciate mangas where in each chapter the author reminds us of the names of the characters in it. Because I really forgot how the other two were named. I'll blame myself since I'm horrible with remembering names, but still, I wish this had it somewhere at the start.

Still my own issues aside, I'll yet again say what an amazing manga this is so far. There's this mystery of what really happened and what will happen, but it doesn't make me feel like there's some buildup to something "big". At least not yet. It's really grounded so far, and I like it. Too many stories have an incredible buildup for a lousy payout. Mostly because the buildup was too big, even if the payout wasn't bad on its own.

And it's so bittersweet! It always turns either wholesome or cute or both but it's always in the shadow of the tragedy that both happened and in a way is still happening.

So I originally dropped this after I think 10 chapters. Decided to skim through a few chapters but I still have to ask, is this sequel still in the "mistake" territory? I mean I loved the first one, but this always seemed like the main reason most people are so tired of the artificial drama in their stories.

Ah yes, understanding from the get-go parents. If only things could be this nice. Still, I wouldn't mind for this to boil a little longer before mom "realizes". Just for some extra "funzies" and awkward situations.

So after nobody came they just went for a walk. I mean... We all knew that would happen. So we could only go up from those expectations huh...
Also, we went through quite a bit lately and we ended up with a kiss. So what's ahead of those two I wonder.

This seems nice. It gives that old-school vibe to me but with some promises of a certain more modern approach to the plot and stuff

I decided to re-read it and... I admit that I thought it was way more "cold" and "gimmicky" at the start, but it actually was the same (mostly) fluff and warmness from the get-go

I enjoyed this series very much and axed or not, I find this ending oddly satisfying. I hope we do see some more stuff with those two from the author.

I get it, the guy is being forceful. Probably a drunk guy who's obviously a bit of a jackass after he has a few drinks and came to a mixer expecting things to happen since that's why you go to mixers. You expect things to happen. He gets overly excited over a cute girl, and nobody can blame that, and with the power of alcohol, he does a dumb thing by being perhaps a bit too assertive for a sober mind to handle. But with everyone being this stupid, I think the guy is the last person to get angry at. I'll go with everyone thinking that Rika getting to a mixer is a great idea. And then Rika herself for going along with it first because she wants to get her GF to get jelly or something and after that doesn't happen she goes with it because uh... She doesn't want to admit to it? I have no idea. It's one of those "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" situations.
I know, it's a dumb setup for a princess being rescued by her knight in shiny armor. But these types of scenes frustrate me. The guy will be/is painted as some sort of bad guy, but this literally happened in the first chapter. And those people know about it. And yet they still allowed it to happen again.
I don't even care that this might spawn a dumb discussion or people might think I'm defending the guy. I'm not. If anything, I'm blaming those three airheads for making this situation happen in the first place. Ugh... Such an awful and frustrating chapter. And there'll be a follow-up, which is just... Great.

It feels like a setup for people arriving late or something. But then again, while this manga doesn't deserve the "depressing as fuck" tag, it still has its oddly bittersweet moments.

Regardless, I feel like this chapter really uh... Left me behind. Was any of this mentioned before and I just forgot? It all just felt "out of nowhere".

I was considering re-reading this while traveling for Christmas, but I decided against it since it would be really awkward to sit on a train with a big smile on my face.
