Thought the chapter was building up to them having their first minor argument over keeping secrets but it looks like the fluff will continue unabated for now.

Edit: alternatively, the last couple chapters feel like the protagonist made a wrong choice and now we're in a dead end path in a visual novel. She's gonna end up graduating alone next chapter and then we rewind back to their first date so she can make a different, better choice

This is exactly it. MC triggered the normal end, so at least no one is dying but the good end is out of reach unless she boots up her save from the date and picks the right choice.

Thanks for the effort on putting those panels together but my opinion about Arioto comes from reading the LN, so reading body language was never part of the equation for me. I've never read the manga and don't have much interest in it.

Admittedly its probably not fair for me to compare a LN to a manga like that though since the manga is likely to leave out some of the internal monologue.

Like I said earlier, my main issue with Arioto is that it's an inferior work to Watanare. Written by the same author around the same time with similar "feel" to it.

My goodness that was super cute. At first I wasn't sure about the somewhat serious turn it took with the shopping addiction part but I like how it was handled.

I thought the whole thing was very obviously romantic. It was a classic falling in love scenario.

Yeah, I guess you can say it's technically unstated, but the relationship is the sole focus of the piece, and feeling comes through very strongly, so to me it makes sense to tag it as yuri.

Both of them are just a little too eager to get closer. Remi got pretty flustered when Sayaka was taking her measurements, and the fact that she had to tell herself "nothing strange is happening" means something was definitely happening there. The last we see of the picnic isn't really Sayaka asking Remi out, but it's close enough; as they're lying next to each other, Sayaka asks Remi to stay with her while cupping Remi's face with her hand, and Remi says yes with her hand on Sayaka's hand.

So I don't know if they're going out by the end, but I think it's obvious how they feel about each other, even if they haven't admitted it to themselves yet.

Yeah the way this whole manga is framed goes beyond subtext to me. Especially the ending.

Just a couple of gal pals laying on a blanket and looking lovingly into each others' eyes.
Totally normal straight stuff where one gently cups the other's face while asking her to stay by her side.

Similar type of story, similar agreement/game between MCs, MC who is similarly shown to be into things near immediately. They're both part of the same romance genre in a way (one that's been popular for a long time even outside of Japan). If you like this one, you might like that one too. I forgot the shorter nickname for that series...that's a mouthful.

For me this series is messy but feels more mutual in it's complicated relationship. I can't stomach 100 days for a variety of reasons, mainly due to the rape factor. So I'm hoping this doesn't cross the line that 100 days did.

I'm also of the opinion that Arioto feels less consensual than this series but I don't hate it like Fluffycow. I simply think Watanare by the same author is a much better yuri series.
Being written by the same author around the same time, Arioto and Watanare feel similar but the latter has much more charming characters and is more pleasant to read.

Yeah there's argument to be made about consent in earlier chapters but in this one Wakaba's clearly into it and just pushing back a little for appearance's sake. She literally thinks to herself "times like these aren't so bad".

Particularly with how she's so quick to cuddle and comfort Komaki when she gets scared. Clearly Wakaba's not actually put off by the kissing if she's so quick to comfort her.

Wakaba continues to grow more agreeable to the kissing. Thinking "times like this aren't so bad".

This chapter is pretty sweet in a vacuum. One girl teasing another while she puts up a tsundere-like resistance. Then the aggressive girl gets vulnerable and the tsundere comforts her.
