Need more immediately

More poly series recommendations you mean?

I would appreciate that too, originally I meant I wanted to see more content like this made but I didn't think I could just ask for recommendations for some reason

There's a recommendations thread but I don't think it'll hurt to mention some here? Which poly series have you read so far? Maybe there's some you haven't that I could mention.

Staying friends after getting rejected is one thing. Now the mariage is coming, and if she would rather be single for life just to stay friends again, then yeah, pure masochistic and this story isn't worth my time.

Also, can't help feeling Fuwako is so selfish here. Instead of ending their "friendship" and set Arisa free, now it's like she is trapping her forever with those lines in the main story. Arisa deserves someone that loves her back, not someone that will keep eating her heart from the inside, unless someday she will just say fk it, cut tie and move on.

I guess everyone is a villain nowadays.

A very bent nail, if you ask me. And I could easily see her husband becoming jealous of the ladies' relationship. I love Usui Shio's works, but this seems a messy ending all around.

I don't see it as messy. Their friendship isn't inappropriate, so why would the husband worry? Her friend is straight and has no romantic feelings for the MC. There's no mess there except for our MC who has to move passed her feelings. People do that all the time and remain friends.

They had their inflection point when MC confessed (last chapter). She was rejected but remained friends. They worked through it and moved passed it. Now they are "fine" and MC has already begun to accept their time for what it was, rather than what she wished it were. That's a healthy direction.

Thinking of your sister's friend, rather than your sister!? The fall has begun. She won't hold out much longer.

The original story ended with them clearly as friends but I'd hoped she would have come to terms with her unrequited love sooner. Still a marriage is a big deal, representing the "final nail in the coffin," if we want to call it that; so it's understandable that she'd feel this way. At least she found value in this period and as Fuwako said in the original: they'll be together forever, one way or another. Nice little addition to what was always a bittersweet oneshot.

Got a chance to read this finally. Really sweet ending, all things considered. Took her a while but Sei got "there" and with the promise of a brighter future for them.

It's long passed now but I disagree with how a few were interpreting the line about Yoru and the importance that line was attributed over everything else Sei said. She says a lot after that line, after all and that line is a positive one anyway. Aya has grown to be as important to her as Yoru. For Sei that's an significant milestone and an example of the progression of their relationship, not a negative. "Important" also doesn't mean Sei views them both equally romantically at this point.

The rest of Sei's lines further show her recognition of the current depth of their relationship, Sei's commitment to Aya, her understanding of how long it took for her to reach this point, and her understanding of the pains her struggles have caused for Aya up to this point. Then we end on a confident promise for their future.

Both characters achieve major milestones in the chapter that signified their growth together and commitment (Aya's "virginity" and Sei's realizations/"responsibility"). They were, to me, essentially metaphorical marriage vows ("marriage" or "engagement" being purposely mentioned in the chapter) or their way of saying "I love you." Overall, interesting story!

So like is there some romance going on between Ms Mangaka and the other idol? I honestly am not sure

*We got two chapters to find out (I forgot we are 1 behind here).

I don't suspect she'll make their relationship clear in that way. I think it'll be left up to the imagination. Still, seeing her twirl her hair with the special effects around her as she thinks about their relationship seems to suggest something more than friendship to me.

... so the script writer somehow came up with a character just like Sakura from scratch (since she never really saw the real one), isn't that very convenient?
Well it leads to a very nice moment even here so I dont mind, I wonder what Sakura is going to think about that when she actually watches the play :P

It was a pretty general description that our girl Takamine then fills in with her crush, since she can't stop seeing her in everything but yeah. Really lovely chapter. I especially liked how the chapter touched on a loved ones' ability to influence an artists' passion for their work in a variety of ways. Since Sakura also has some writing background (and this girl is struggling to write an end), I also wonder if she'll become involved in some way.

Is anyone confused as to where 8.5 came from? It felt so incredibly random considering where the 2 characters are in their relationship in 8.

The series has 1 final chapter left, split into 2 parts. 8.5 is sometime in our girls' future, according to the author. The chapter was made seperately before the series and was released on pixiv within the series between chapter 8 and 9 (the final chapter).

The TL uploaded it as 8.5 because that's literally the order the author released it in the same series list for their audience on pixiv. So it's technically release order. We're getting it at the "same time" as everyone else did. The author didn't separate it from the main series.

It's just a quick flash forward meant as a gift for the audience and some fun. Everything is leading up to this anyway. It fits, just maybe could be chapter 9.5 instead of 8.5.

4th translation has many fewer blatant mistakes of grammar, but has various incidents of pronoun error (mis-gendered, or "who's the speaker"), and some other odd bits. Maybe more likely to be lightly-touched modern MTL than the first 3?

Almost certainly. Pronoun confusion is typically a giveaway that something is MTL.

Tell that to Tapas haha (although I wouldn't rule it out with them too, I guess).

So... We are never getting any ending on RinaRinas character?

What's to tell? She served her purpose, and is now being paying for her new favourite.

Yeah and considering the series was supposed to end with this chapter, we definitely weren't meant to see her again. She's just a gag side character.

Um. Where did you find this? I've reread Lass at least 5 times and I don't recall that plot point. I'm not going as far to say it's not true, but point me to your source please.

Mentioned in an earlier chapter and again in this chapter. It's not a major moment. It's mentioned in passing and is part of Yunduo's early motivations for "protecting" Xiaoen.

Found it again, if you want it: chapter 32.

And to the first point. I say read my previous post. The title "little brother" is given for any male in the same generation and younger than the speaker. It has nothing to do with actually being related in asian languages.

That and the names aren't enough to rule out their being related, especially considering what's being shown, discussed in chapter and her adoption.

We got the "series extension" to cancel out the series canceling." Good stuff. I wonder how much of an extension it'll be.

Don't these things usually end not long after the confession?

Not so much these days. Took them long enough to catch on.

Well this makes everything much more clear through implication. And I'm starting to get an image of why Mu Xiaoen has such unhappy feelings associated with her little brother, since it seems very likely now that he's her bio brother, grew up with their bio parents, and likely suffered in the way she would have had her real parents not adopted her away from that family. This would also explain why he's clingy and desperate for affection to both her and her parents.
Dunno yet what sort of darkness exists in Xiaoyang's parents that led to this situation. They seem to have money, so it's unlikely to be severe poverty or something individually debilitating. There's a number of very dark turns the author could take in this arc but hopefully we focus more on Xiaoyang and Xiaoen reconciling instead of detailing his suffering too much. That kid feels like he needs it.

Similar-ish to a situation from A Joyful Life. One kid "gets out" against their will and receives what they suspect is a better life...the other, not so much; then there's all the complicated interpersonal feelings that come from that.

So, we had the self published version (on here it's called the twitter version), which then restarted for the serialisation, then the serialisation had to end prematurely and now we're back to the old one? Will the updates continue on here or on the other one?

We're not back to the old one. This one will continue on Fanbox. Direct continuation.

Which I think regardless of there being real magic or not, this girl is having sex with someone that she believes can not consent to her. She is by her own definition and logic a rapist. I think the whole chapter and situation is really creepy and gross, it's deeply uncomfortable.

Yes, that is what I meant. Sometimes these stories gloss over what intent means and how a magical "oh I wasn't actually under mind control, so it's ok!?" doesn't absolve the original intent of the characters. She's very aware of what she thinks she's doing and did. That's more than enough.

I think it's too early for the dubious consent tag. But I guess if we interpret the word literally, it is "dubious" that Kana is loving her of her own volition.

At this point it's not clear to me that magic is causing Kana to love her. The tag makes me think I'm getting spoilers from someone who knows something about future developments.

My guess is "the twist" is that magic isn't the reason Kana loves her, despite the foreshadowing from her dad's worries and the thoughts of the MC and theater senpai.

Does that matter if the character thinks they've mind controlled the person in the moment?

One hurdle down, how many more to go?

Doesn't look like that's all yet...

Yeah, reminds me of "My Food Looks Very Cute," in that I think we're only at the midway point at best. Feel like this will be a long one. But we'll see! I liked getting some more of her past life, since we haven't touched on that for a bit.

Wakaba is already so unambiguously in love with Komaki and reciprocates these events more than she is currently comfortable admitting to herself. She also recognized that her feelings for Komaki are different from those for her friend Masturi (which was the point of her thoughts on being touched); so, even if Matsuri does have feelings, there's the signal that, that's unlikely to go anywhere. Understandably, Wakaba would be confused about her feelings for Komaki, at least for now. Their current situation is a mess. Once she understands why Komaki acts as she does, we'll see where Wakaba finally lands. But her feelings for Komaki only seem to grow as the series progresses.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd time Wakaba has gotten "payback" by taking the initiative to kiss Komaki?

Girl, maybe think about what your chosen method of revenge says about your feelings towards Komaki...

She'll marry her and scream "Ha! I win!" after their heartfelt vows; then wonder why she's so happy, her cheeks are still so hot, and her heart is still beating so fast.

Some positive announcements for the series. 1 million in circulation and a 20 page Aki/Shiho special edition booklet/chapter with the volume 10 release on the 29th (digital). Two new covers, one for each couple as well. Looking forward to that. I wonder if the new chapter will be current to the Miki stuff or it's own separate event like a date.

Yeah it's confusing that this is called just "side stories" even though it's the sequel series. Some publication shenanigans responsible for that?

The first chapters will feel less polished after reading these more recent chapters but it still has some good stuff in it.

From my understanding, it's related to a change in publication that happened mid-series and how that new publication decided to handle the continuation of the series. It's not really a sequel series, just a direct continuation but on a new publication website. The "side stories" naming isn't official, I don't think. It's all corrected in the volume releases. This stuff is basically volume 5 onwards (chapter 94 onwards). So the story really has 139+ chapters.

It mix up with the main story for the first couples "side stories", then past a certain volume, it's just straight up only the side stories. For what i've seen of the french publication.

Right, because it's a continuation and still just the main story but on a new website. Correct me if I'm wrong but these aren't called "side stories" by any publication, I think that was just a translation decision made years ago. So, I'd not worry about that naming too much, as long as people understand there's 93 chapters before these ones. Either way it's just great the series continues.
