halmoni, can't wait for your translation!

It seems we have a flashback: already at the time when No-rae was going out with her ex, Ji-hwan apparently had put an eye on her. And I guess now he realized that he might lose No-rae again, but this time to Seol-a. I sense a lot of drama coming. Very curious what he was talking with Seol-a about at the end of the chapter.

You don't need to worry about cancellations, it's a web manga. It's not tied to any one publishing company, he/she posts it on her/his site.

LOL, I don't worry at all actually. It's just a manga. A really good one, but still just a manga. And it may end up cancelled for multiple reasons, be it Akili's own unwillingness, another tracing incident, readers getting tired, web publisher's business death, third world war, you name it. And if it does get cancelled, i.e. if it does not have an originally planned ending, then I have no clue at all as to how it will end, because at some point the story starts telling itself and it will therefore force Akili to create such ending, that will suit the context of the storyline at that point in time when the show will have to be cancelled. And what I do believe is that Akili's likely to follow this approach and target the story consistency as opposed to following the fan service demands.

I apologize for the wall of text and over-analysis of characters I'm a fan of. Is this the feeling some nerds describe as "yuri hell"?

Thank you for this wonderful post, such a detailed and precise analysis. I wish there were more posts like that!
It's interesting how both lost their family members (in that or the other way) and were thus able to form such a heart-warming family bond between each other. But it's true that it appears to be very one-sided romantically. And I wonder if Keiko will ever change in that respect.
I somehow expect a lot of tension between the two. Ran seems to be getting more and more desperate to get Keiko's romantic attention, while Keiko's doing her best to stay away from it. I think I already mentioned earlier, that Ran will likely turn back to alcohol because of that. Of course it won't happen in an instant, and will likely be presented in a very soft, gradual, and subtext manner. Meanwhile, the theme for the next volume might be at all focused on Keiko's relationship with her parents. We hardly know she's in conflict with her mum, and that needs a resolution. We know nothing at all about her dad.

As for the endings... Depending on the moment the manga will be decided to get cancelled, we might get a yuri or a non-yuri end. And only assuming Akili has a chance to finish it without any forced cancellations, I'd expect 60% yuri vs 40% non-yuri end, as of today. Non-yuri doesn't necessarily mean het - the girls could simply grow out of their current relationship and stay friends. But I expect it to stay in the cloudy (yuri-wise) subtext way as long as the series goes. It's in fact what brings value to the series and makes it different from others.

I think what Ran meant is will there still be a reason left for them to stay connected if the time for them to part ways once again comes I don't know where did you get that boyfriend hint there (though that scenario is possible)

it's probably my mistranslation of かれ道

I think you left out the "分" character, it's read as "分かれ道". let's just wait for boons' translation to confirm it

ah, then you're definitely right! still a lot for me to learn in this language ^_^

I'm pretty sure her jealousy here is an early sign of that.

yep, exactly.

oh, and I think I finally got Ran's words on the last two pages. It's Lately I've been wondering, how much longer will I be able to stay together with sempai. Will there still be a reason for us to hold hands next time a boyfriend pops up on a radar. I'd say that's
1) another hint for Ran's gayness
2) another foreshadowing for a boyfriend arrival - doesn't even have to be the same bf actually
this also confirms why Ran got so proactive after she'd met Keiko's bf in the bar, who apparently still couldn't forget his love.

whoosh... that was a nice flashback. Seems now we know what happened to Ran's father and how exactly she ended up living together with Keiko. And apparently Ran's been gay for Keiko for a long period of time...
I'm waiting for the translation impatiently as I really want to clarify a couple of very important lines, hehe...

hahahaha, craptree, you've made my day! It was such an ugly and painful one, but I'm so much happier now
And yes, I expect drama next episode. There had to be a reason to postpone a chapter before the Valentine's day after all. So my expectations for sure are low. May be it's actually good, and Shou will still find a away to positively surprise us... No-no-no. To hell with this, I better expect drama

I guess Ji-hwan will soon realize (if not already) that Seol-a is gay for No-rae. And she still owes him that promise from chapter 7. Will he ask her to give up on No-rae?

Halmoni, you're the best! Please keep your fantastic work and ignore the trolls. They don't worth the slightest bit of your attention. Personally, the comico website with your texts is more than enough, really. Thank you so much again!!!

on a side note, came up with a realistic interpretation why No-rae turned red in chapter 21 when the girls just met. I think a thought ran through her head that Seol-a dressed up as if it really was a date. And she probably recalled the moment how she invited Seol-a to this event. So I believe No-rae really became conscious of her relationship with Seol-a. And that's another reason why she tried to "shut up" Hee-jin when they met, lol

I've got an idea that Seol-a does not feel well because she might have caught a cold. May be in the next chapter, after hearing how she's not welcome, she's going to pass out? Or rather No-rae will do something extremely embarrassing to prove how Seol-a is very important for her at least, and this will make Seol-a extremely hot and red, so that No-rae will think Seol-a's got a fever and then will take her home, and, you know, undress her and rub her with a wet towel. OK, I'll stop here with cliche'd fantasies...

Hmmm yes, she will make some porridge for her, slowly feeding her with a spoon. Then for some reason, she will tell her that she cannot ..."hold it anymore"; and the all thing will turn out like MaixReo yuri bed scene... That is normal yuri framework lol~

Bu-but my headcanon is No-rae being dork that she is, will grab Seol-a inside the very narrow cubicle. And my gawd with all that little space they're chest-to-chest...breathing heavily due to the suddenness of things. And of course No-rae being dorker than ever will grab Seol-a's head and cover her ears. And goodness Seol-a being taller and not feeling well, slips and damn it - NEAR KISS on the lips. sakdhashdfjdhfjshdfuhsdufhdsi

How sweet...
if it happens, I'm sure it wouldn't be an "accidental kiss"; having No-rae so close to her, Seol-a would initiate the right move, voluptuously kiss her, then pretend fainting due to fever ;) (fufufufu)

this just so-o-o made my day , could hardly concentrate on work

now the wait for sunday is even more difficult

No-rae is so freaking fluffy and cute. And that navel of hers. No surprise Seol-a had to avert the gaze from it and find a way to cover No-rae's bare body parts. Only to surround No-rae more with the clothes, the smell, the hands. The two urgently need some time together, hehe.

I like to read the forums from time to time, especially if I like something a lot. But I've never had an urge to post a comment. I'm posting for the first time ever because I needed to express my gratitude for this manhwa. Fluttering Feelings means the world to me as a young Korean-American gay woman. Although they live in Korea and have Korean values instead of American ones, I see myself in these characters. I've never read anything that hits as close to home as this particular work of fiction. I can relate to their confused emotions and Korean humor. This story feels kind of different from the usual western and Japanese narratives that I've seen so much of (with the exception of Their Story I suppose). I'm not 100% fluent in Korean, so I rely on the English translations when I don't understand a certain word or phrase in the raws. I would be pretty distraught if I couldn't understand everything that's going on. I wish I could thank the author Samba personally or send them a message in Korean, but I don't think I'd be able to do that. In the mean time, I want to thank halmoni (할머니 :D) for being an amazing contributor and responder, the dynasty-scans uploaders for introducing me to this manhwa, and anyone else who is reading this and has worked on FF. I wish I could convey my feelings more fully, but I guess this will have to do! I've been looking forward to every update and I can't wait for the future ones as well.

Wow, so awesome to read comments like these!!
This also made me curious: who relates to which characters of this manga? Do we have the majority of Seol-a's or, perhaps, No-rae's? Or perhaps a nice balance? ^_^

according to the google translated comments on comico, Seol-a is jealous big time of No Rae's friend Hee-jin
would be so nice to get a translation soon.

here is the rough translation :)

wow, so awesome! ty very much! so Seol-a was jealous of some unknown girl, lol. And No-rae, I bet she merely used that model as an excuse to the uncontrollable compliment she made, hahaha.
What I was left unsure was what did Hee-jin imply when she said she could now die without regrets? It felt like "I see, there's finally someone whose love and care you actually accept, so there's no need for me to worry about you any more". But I don't really understand why I perceive it this way. Any ideas? Or is it wishful thinking of mine?

QQ-face-angsty-drama is usually called melodrama. I was talking about a more generic drama. This is also how I perceive Stretch, because it touches upon the themes of parent-kids hardships, nature disasters, romance, yuri, family, and so on. The fact that it is directed so smoothly and presented in a heart-warming and sometimes even comic, yet so realistically slice-of-life fashion is certainly Akili's huge achievement thanks to the talent of a great story-teller. It doesn't mean the drama's not present and the sun always shines.

Takachi scared me with that comment, I was preparing myself for some horrible drama and I get a flashback that will surely end fluffy with Ran moving in Keiko's home after some crying when Ran finds out about her father's death x)

Haha, I was certainly depressed yesterday. Sorry for that.

Personally, I don't see any foreshadowing. There may be an hint for Ran's being an alcoholic but it could also not be some serious matter, we don't know yet. I believe Keiko payed attention to Ran's drinking and at least tried to limit it in a previous chapter so I don't think it will and up in some horrible drama (if the alcoholism is real).

It's not the first time the alcohol topic is brought in, so I think the chances are certainly higher now, that Ran has issues with it. And there should be a plot device related to it. Doesn't have to be a dramatic one of course, but I'm pretty sure it'll play its roles in the series.
As for the foreshadowing, the way Ran mentions her dad's words is almost like she's preparing for the break-up with Keiko. Ran is certainly a very strong girl to be able to handle the situation so calmly and rationally, but I'm sure she's also human, and deep down the negative emotions accumulate and at some point she'll freak out. The less desired attention she gets from Keiko, the more it's gonna hurt her. And this actually might be a trigger to the return of her alcoholism. And this is where a lot of drama can happen between the two girls. Keiko's already feeling quite nervous after the Valentine.
This is of course pure speculation and I'm a known sucker for drama, so... I do hope everything will turn out fine and well, but...
