The name is wrong. Should be 'Mahjong' instead of 'Majhong'

Hmm, anyone got the real title of the doujin that's on the cover?

Elma is pretty cute, also we learned a little more about their world. Plenty story progression if you ask me. This is meant to be a comedy manga, not some great plot-heavy story.

Elma probably likes Tooru so Kobayashi has some competition xD

I should watch the third episode sometime. She said outright that she was in love with her when the younger one asked why she kissed her. The first two episodes were fairly easy to follow even without subs.

Now if I could only understand how to play. Got Mirei and 2 Mamoris though.

There are two chapters for Biyori BG (42 and 43) that are translated and haven't been uploaded, as well as the newest Saki chapter (151), and lastly the latest translated Shinohayu chapter (26)

Sorry for putting this here, but I'm too lazy to go through the Upload Request thing. xD

Woo an update! Didn't think we'd get one. Here's hoping for more :]

I meant that giving birth may be an important part of their motivation. And added that I may also be giving those writers too much credit with that.

I see, that could very well be the case then. I don't think it's giving too much credit though. Particularly if one of the writers is a woman, but yeah, typically they only do it for the sake of it. Now that I try to think of an example of a woman wanting to get pregnant (lesbian or no) I don't think I've come across one that said "I want to experience birth" or something.

The "lesbian wants a baby" trope is another one I loathe. Unfortunately it's all over the place.

That's fine if they want a baby, but I really don't understand what's wrong with adoption. [...]

It may be giving the writers too much credit, but the desire of being mother being different from the one of giving birth may be involved, thus

cough in-vitro cough

Yeah, and I was saying besides insemination. Not all women want to go through birth but just want a baby/child.

Err... That's exactly what I've said, tho..?

Yes, and I meant besides that process. Not getting pregnant but adoption. I don't understand what you're getting at. Confirming what I said or?

Now you guys can have Tokonome's voice on your smartphone!

If only, I can't download it. It's "incompatible with all of my devices". I guess it's something Asia restricted.

Eh, I think you guys are reading too much into it. I mean, if I were to orgasm after seeing a naked Jennifer Lawrence is because I'm a perv rather than in love with her.

Perhaps. It is implied that arousal is king though, and it's clear who makes Mamori horny the easiest. It's pretty easy for someone like Mamori to mistake lust for love. As for Momoka, I still think that Mamori will seek Akira after something happens. Maybe Momoka shares with her something of Mirei's past, but now after Hilholde it's going to be even harder to resist. I don't know, as Nevri said, it's as if they're making Akira and Mamori fated for each other or something.

Something that everyone seems to overlook is that Mamori's only thought after having beaten the villians of the week was Mirei's well-being, something that is a pretty clear indicator to me that Mirei has a special place on Mamori's heart.

There was no one else to be concerned about though, so it's kind of moot. It's also overshadowed by how perfect Akira is for Mamori, which is another minus.

And what Nevri said about orgasming on sight. That's really hard to overlook.

Weeeeeell, it's apparently an NBC show. They do have quite a few lebian characters on their shows. They are also known for making them have sex with men.

There you go. She will probably be with men for the first seasons as was the first show (haven't watched it) I guess it remains to be seen.

This one kinda says what you did.

Yep. Case closed then.

I've never watched the show (as in every episode), I've only ever caught separate episodes when I was flipping the channels when I was young. It all depends on how they do it. It could be one big fuck you to the fans in the end. The actress who played Xena is also supposedly gonna be in a directing role so, there is still some hope for it.

^ You should read the definition of it. It may have the same characters, but everything that happened will be erased.

In serial fiction, to reboot means to discard all continuity in an established series in order to recreate its characters, timeline and backstory from the beginning.

Supposedly the actress who played Xena will reprise her role. I don't know how though.

How do you know it will get retconned?

Because the reboot of a series is just that. Starting clean. Meaning retconning whatever previous stuff has happened. That is the definition of a reboot. It's also said outright by the creators and the two actresses who play Xena and Gabrielle that they were a couple. Kind of like Korra in that sense.

Speaking of which, I don't know if it has been mentioned but Xena is gonna get a reboot sometime in 2016. Probably. Which means, everything will be retconned and no Xena/Gabrielle xD

I also watched Alto (I think someone mentioned it). It's funny, though it felt like a lot of stuff was missing in-between scenes. It's worth a watch though.

Alto is awesome! Did you have problems with the sound? I always have problems with the sound.

Not at all, there are torrents floating around of the Unrated version (don't know if there's any difference) and it was really good audio/video wise. Though, they used too much close-ups.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll track that one down. I checked the reviews, and some said the book should get a sequel and that the ending was great, so both women probably make it. And since it's an Über (an AU Xena fic that got published with the names changed), I doubt the author would've written a lengthy story only to kill off one half of a beloved pairing. I think it's safe to read.

I don't understand why they are called uber. If their names are different why would they count to Xena? I haven't watched the show btw. Also it looks like the show will get a reboot sometime in 2016 with the same actress.

For more stories about lesbian assassins, see also the Elite Operative series by Kim Baldwin and Xenia Alexiou. I've only read the first one and it focused too much on the romance for my tastes, but there are 7 books in the series so if you like the first one there's a lot more to look forward to.

Thanks, I'll check it(them) out. But it sounds familiar.
Edit: I see why.

This is from the /u/ literature thread

I started the Elite Operative series and finished the first two, Lethal Affairs and Thief of Always. I was hoping it would be more campy like DEBS but I liked it despite the disconnected morality and the unfitting stupidity of the EOO command. The use of orphans who groom into assassin slaves who still love the organization that gives them no freedom or escape was kind of sick. The romance was fun, particularly book 2, but the love interests almost blindly support their assassin career when they find out and there didn't seem to be any reason why the EOO would even let them survive afterwards, which felt odd when they were so strict in everything else. This mostly made me want to read Engravings of Wraith again since it does everything right.

I remember hearing the rest of the EO series was not worth reading based on comments here, but I don't remember why. Are the other books worth it or does it go off the rails?

They start getting worse after that IMO. I stopped after the fourth one.

Also where Engravings of Wraith was recommended.

The assassin dies. I was actually surprised by the ending, because I'm an idiot and didn't look at the tags. It was a fitting ending though.

I see, thought it was gonna be like that. A few people have praised Engravings of Wraith by Kiera Dellacroix. It's again with an assassin though she doesn't take a protege. I haven't read it yet cause I'm wary that one of the two will die (and I don't have the time right now to read it in one sitting) You might wanna take a look at it.

They aren't supposed to drive with anyone. They were surprised that Mamori could drive with someone who was not her partner.

I think it all depends on how powerful the Ecsta/Liberator is. If she is powerful enough, then she can Drive with anyone (like Nevri said). So far it's been shown that Mamori is one of the most powerful Ecstas and Mirei has the experience so she is also powerful. Mamori may have a better bond with Akira though, based on how her transformation goes. shrugs

Here's an original story about a badass lesbian sociopath. The author is a straight guy (I know many people have issues with straight guys writing lesbian romance so I'm mentioning it just in case, but being yuri fans I guess we're kind of used to it at this point), and it has a fair amount of sex scenes, but it's a decent way to spend an afternoon.

Sooo, who dies, the assassin or the protege?

I also watched Alto (I think someone mentioned it). It's funny, though it felt like a lot of stuff was missing in-between scenes. It's worth a watch though.

Guess it's just me that thought when they were activating drive (Mamori and Mirei) Mamori thought about Hilholde (given that look she threw her before wrapping her legs around Mirei). And likewise it only took a slight kiss with Hilholde to activate Drive (also the whole seeing her on sight and orgasming). Mah Mirei x Mamori D: (only slightly joking) I don't know, I dislike when lust governs something or has a far greater impact with someone other than the one you're in love with (not really the case here, but still, Mamori's body response is similar). Kind of like Mamoru-kun where the girl falls for the protag, but at some point comes in the 'rival' and her body is so ridiculously drawn to him (she is faithful to him though, that's a plus), that if it were this anime, she would activate Drive several times over . Guess it reminded me of that. Kind of like saying 'I love you, but you'll never satisfy me as he/she does'. And yes, I have that much self-confidence (none). Anyway. Enough babbling about stuff that irks me to no end.

I'm interested to see what Mamori will say to the revelation that they are one and the same though. I can see her forgiving her, as she's not one to hold grudges and is kind to a fault. But will she be all depressed it isn't her prince or is she gonna be all about Akira and be even more smitten?

Gotta say though, I really like Akira and I'm glad it was Mirei the one who saw her. From what little they talked about I think she knows that her secret is safe with Mirei and wouldn't use it for something.

I'm surprised Charlotte and Kasumi (perhaps she knows) don't know that Akira is female. I imagine Kasumi won't think too much of the reveal when/if it happens, but I'm more interested in what Charlotte will do. Perhaps try to overthrow her because she lied or something? She is rather power hungry.

Still want to see Kasumi and Hibiki though. How they are together, I imagine it would be very cute if the episode where they're shown is any indication. I'm also liking Akira x Torino as well.

I'll probably be a bit surprised when Momoka shows up and Mamori gets a little jealous. That's probably what will happen, but I don't know. Also Mirei, Mamori, Momoka, why couldn't they think of other names besides ones that start with M xD
