Okay, look, this is too much. This manga is too cute. These characters are too adorable. I've been won over a long time ago, but even if I hadn't this chapter would have brought me to heel -- I mean, how can it be so cute!?!?!?

I have no choice but to take Reiko as waifu now. I hope her moms Yuina & Hikari will be ok with me.

Well I hope they can keep it a secret from her for a lo-o-ong time. I want to see them happily exploring their newfound love and doing all the exciting things a couple of girlfriends can do. I don't want them to fall into an angst storyarc the very moment they have become lovers.

You know it's going to happen sooner or later, right?

I was reading chapter 31 raw just now, and there were these two panels:

I really was flabbergasted. "Doki doki" as in the Japanese sound for heartbeats? In Latin letters? In a Chinese manhua!?

Keep in mind that these are the raw originals, not some scanlated version!

I can only figure that the author picked that onomatopoeia from Western websites dedicated to Asian manga... I mean, it's not uncommon for us otaku to use "doki doki" in our writings or fanart...

This isn't that surprising given some context. First, as you mention, "doki doki" as an onomatopoeia in romance manga is probably pretty commonly known. Second, the average manhua will know Latin characters with fewer knowing Japanese kana. It makes a lot of sense to use "doki doki" instead of ドキドキ given the intended audience if you're trying to play around with the trope.

That kind of was my point. In Japanese manga and Japanese websites they don't use "doki doki" in Latin characters but ドキドキ in katakana. If the author of this Chinese manhua had picked the onomatopoeia from a Japanese source, it wouldn't have been written in Latin letters.

The Chinese language prolly has some sort of onomatopoeia of its own for hearbeats... but this author chose to use something different, more original, more exotic. And they ended up with "doki doki" in Latin characters. I believe it's a case of a Japanese conventional sound effect reaching China in a roundabout way after a trip through the English-speaking world. Maybe it's just me, but it tickles me pink.

They should just save time and lie in a hamster pile. I used to love all the perfumes gals wore when I was a teenager...and being the 80s, hairspray.

Ah, I see you're as old as me a person of culture as well.

Lesbians are a good excuse to draw fantastical decrepit architecture. ... or is it the other way around? I'm not sure. I'm here for both, though.

Hey, if it worked for YKK...

YKK?

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō.

Alpha and Kokone are like the OGs of yuri robotgirls.

Oh noes. Their minds have been trapped inside the machine. They thought they had stopped playing, but in fact their bodies are still in the shed and the helmets are still on their heads and their consciousnesses are still caught in the virtual reality world.

Welcome to the Matrix, girls.

This series is starting to remind me of The Real Her.

Ah, I see you're a person of culture as well.

I mean, not quite. What she likes, at least based on what she's been thinking for now, is not bullying her, but rather seeing her happy. She's not (yet?) awakening to sadism, she's awakening to yuri.

This is definitely true, and while it's funny to imagine this manhua as a retelling of The Real Her there's very little evidence that Elsa is a real masochist and even less that Evie has a subconscious penchant for sadism. It's the system that's forcing them into those roles... and since they are falling in love with each other while at the same time having no choice but to engage in bullying games, it's only natural that some confusion arises.

I believe one of the main jokes of the story is precisely that the mc sees herself as a "scumbag" (as shown in scenes where, after being harshly scolded by her strict parents, she mutters angrily to herself "Yes, yes, I'm a scumbag, I get it!") while in fact she's one of the most pure-hearted characters to ever grace a yuri manga. Her only real faults are a little bit of childlike selfishness and laziness; and we have already seen that, if it's for the sake of someone she loves, she will become selfless and hard-working without a moment's hesitation.

Honestly, I rather like how the chapter titles doggedly remind us that the mc is supposed to be a scumbag. I enjoy this type of tongue-in-cheek humor. It's like how F3, from episode 2 onwards, was full of comments and sidenotes constantly reminding us that Hiroe's mom and sis were not her real biological mother and sister no matter how different the actual facts in the story were.

In any case, as I mentioned in a previous post, if anyone wants to read about a real scumbag of a yuri heroine, I recommend you try this manga. Toudou-chan won't let you down, trust me on that one.

I didn't expect that the novel would be even more romantic than the manhua! I am loving this so much. "But I love being caught by you"!!! I'm glad that the novel reminds us how Yvonne's behavior must look to Elsa, who knows nothing of systems and could only think of her half-hearted bullying as pulling pigtails.

Hehe, yeah, I love that side of the story. Yvonne's "bullying" must look to the world (and Elsa in particular) as the childish behavior of a little kid dealing with a first crush... that is, more teasing than bullying and intended only to catch the attention of the person in question!

And of course after Yvonne saved Elsa's life (risking her own life to do so) and killed the "mare" that had possessed Elsa, it's no surprise that Elsa would end up falling head over heels for Yvonne.

Four-star rare. Description: "The most stubborn sadist in the history of mankind: Schrödinger, the Bane of Feline Cat Kind. Just kidding."

Pretty much every power has a 50/50 chance of working or not. :D

As many of you already did, I too want to say that I love the credits page, haha.

"Put me in the box instead, Schroedinger, I want a huff of that Blausäure."

There, there. (patpats hard-working scanlator's head)

Yes, indeed.

I laughed so much when Tae's friend, who is pretty much Minori from this manga, saw Mai-chan leaving Tae's tent and thought they had been doing the naughty all night.

"NO WAAAY!!! This cannot be! The lolicon pervert in the cast is supposed to be me!"
