Oh yeah, sorry that I forgot to mention the thing that would probably be a huge deciding factor for a lot of people. It's kinetic. I am gonna say though as someone who prefers the presence of choices, the lack of them here helps make the story feel more focused; it's still understandable though if it being kinetic will make some people dismiss it.

While I prefer VNs with choices, I don't really see anything wrong with kinetic novels either. They're basically just books but with pictures and music, and I like reading them (the good ones anyway) so I don't have a problem with them.

Out of curiosity though, what are the types of VNs anyway? Like, what would you call a VN with choices? Is it just a VN? I know that there are kinetic novels and sound novels, but what are the other kinds anyway?

There are definitely a few like that. Most of Hanako Games' more recent games are basically VNs with some gameplay. I think there was a yuri VN beat-em up somewhere, but I forgot its name. But, yeah, I'm referring more to narrative kind of stuff.

That ramen scene kinda gave off a Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-chan vibe to me.... was that just me? It might be just that I view anything with ramen in it as giving off a Koizumi-chan vibe nowadays...

Anyhow, I'm kind of disappointed that the dom Hifumi scene got spoiled for me in the comments, but... it was still quite memorable. It just illustrates why I hate the fuck out of shoujo manga, but, regardless, it was still a good scene.

Also, Aoba always walks on on these "seemingly yuri but not really yuri" scenes, doesn't she? Hopefully, she'll walk in on a "seemingly yuri but, yes, it's actually yuri" scene one day. And then she'll think, "Oh, it's just another misunderstanding..." This is never gonna happen (maybe when the manga ends?), but I dunno, I hope it does.

The "Het on Page 5" tag repelled me... the "Yandere" tag drew me back in... I was feeling pretty repulsed with that double dildo mouth thing cause what the hell, and I was laughing my ass off at the rest of the sexy scenes... I don't know what it was about them, but there was something comical about them... maybe it's just because it's 1 AM and I'm procrastinating on a huge project but yeah, anyway.... I was thinking, "You know something's a bit off here" when she started to get into it and then I remembered the "Drugs" tag and I was like "I don't like where this is going" and, what do you know, I didn't like where it was going... okay, I have to admit that I kind of do. Relationships that are actually... relationships are obviously the best relationships, but relationships that are not really relationships like this relationship can be quite interesting sometimes... (just trying to see how many times I could use relationships in one sentence)

It saddens me that female senpai isn't available yet though. :( (maybe she is, this is the first Yandere Sim video I've watched in a while). With the gender-specific dialogue and stuff, it seems like she's not gonna be here for a while. :(

I remember the creator saying that he was going to include it as an option at some point (might have remembered it incorrectly though). It's been like two years though, so I'm kind of doubting now if he's ever going to get around to it... here's hoping.

Soooo, it looks like it's going the incest route with the little sister character (unless she's not actually the little sister, I guess). This kind of turns me off from wanting to get the game, but, well, it sure is a good thing that the yandere girl can (and will) murder her! Though if the female senpai ever shows up, I'll make to not stab her to death or something (given the nature of the game, that's probably not possible though).

When Midori suddenly stopped herself, I was worried that Aoi had died in the pool somehow or something... Thank God that didn't happen.

I thought that after Gayoon finally told Soha that she was dissatisfied by being seen as a dog, they would kiss and make up and do pet play the right way... You know, I thought that she was going to have sex in that bunny outfit at first, and I was a bit disappointed that that absurdity never actually happened... looking at it from a realistic standpoint though... yeah, I'm glad she took off that thing.

Crack is oftenly addressed to pairings that involve characters who aren't likely to be in a romantic relationship.
It's why only about a minority produce KyouMami content. Pixiv results are nowhere close to the towering MadoHomu & KyouSaya.

I don't want to get into a petty argument or anything, but I'd say that calling a ship a crack pairing means that it's completely insane and has no chance of ever happening. I mean, it's true that Kyouko x Mami is never going to happen, but I still think it has a better chance of happening compared to something completely insane like... Kyubey x Homura, for instance.

Crack content is pretty rare. That's a good thing; the less there is, the better.

But it's not crack... These two are just as canon as Kyouko/Sayaka if not more. They had far bigger connection in the manga that is based before the anime series.

Really wish it would get animated so people would stop with crack thing.

As much as I love KyoSaya, this is very true... granted, I never read Different Story or anything else, but I did listen to the drama CD and read the TV Tropes page, so... that's something. Anyway, there's no reason to fight over what's better between KyoSaya and KyoMami. I love both equally (okay, I love KyoSaya a bit more, but KyoMami's great too). It's like I always say; if you have trouble picking a ship, go with the polyamory option! MamiKyoSaya FTW!

I'm on my phone now so I can't do it myself, but I think a "DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THE FACE OF MERCY" thing would be appropriate for that last panel.

I don't think that having a bad ending precludes something from being good... sure, most yuri bad endings are BS, but this had a good story and was very well-thought, so I enjoyed it. Also, this isn't really yuri either, but that's beside the point. The art was quite nice, and I loved how badass MC was.

My introduction to Touhou was probably the music... then I tried out the games and gave up after a few weeks... and then I found the yuri.

It's been 4 months since the last release, huh? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it just made me realize how screwed up my sense of time is now since I thought I remembered reading a new chapter recently... curse you, high school and summer vacation!

Wait, Rin's supposed to be a tomboy? As someone who has never watched the anime or read the manga and just reads the yuri doujins, I was really not aware of this... She doesn't look all that boyish to me, but I guess all those things where a girl looks exactly like a dude (nothing wrong with that, of course, just saying that it's fairly common and all) has made it difficult for me to recognize more subtle boyish appearances... I don't know... then again, it seems that RinPana doujins don't really show up much around here (at least not as much as NicoMaki and EliNozo doujins), so I suppose it's understandable that I know next to nothing about her (is she the girl that always says nya or is that Hanayo?).

It's nice that Razzart is apparently quite partial to yuri since all of their games have been yuri or have had yuri options... Well, I remember that they had released a het VN before Starlight Vega, but it appears that it's not on Steam anymore? I don't know what happened to it, but, anyways, I've always liked Western yuri VNs more than Japanese yuri VNs since they usually handle LGBT topics better (cue the "B-but we're both girls!") and usually don't include as much fanservice... also, there are a lot of free Western VNs out there, so there's that too. Granted, I haven't played any Japanese yuri VNs yet since I'm too poor so perhaps I'm not the best person to speak about this...

Anyway, from the trailer, it looks like this thing will have animated CGs, which is quite interesting. I guess them showing up in the trailer isn't quite a confirmation, but I don't really see why they would invest the effort into making them if they wouldn't use it. They do look a bit stiff, but I understand that they have a pretty low budget, and, hey, it's better than nothing. It looks like the artist from Starlight Vega isn't coming back, but this art looks great too. Looking forward to one more yuri incest VN in the world! (I think Nurse Love Addiction and Tsui Yuri are the only other ones, but I don't really know much about untranslated VNs)

Doga Kobo did first two Yuru Yuri series, if that's what he's talking about(they're also on bait-happy New Game!).

Silver Link is master of the service-happy Prisma Illya adaptations and Yuri Kuma Arashi.

The only series Gokumi put out I've watched are Nakaimo and Kinmoza. Somebody else will have to discuss their yuri quotient.

So yeah all bait no actual fish.

Whether Yuru Yuri is bait or actual fish is arguable, but Yuri Kuma Arashi is DEFINITELY not bait at all. It's confusing as hell, but it's definitely not bait. It's not for everyone, but... it is yuri, so I'd recommend it. I don't know much about Prisma Illya, but the fact that Illya's apparently in love with her brother is enough to convince me to stay the hell away from it, even if her and Miyu make a cute couple.

I don't know a thing about Nakaimo, but a cursory glance at the Wikipedia page shows "harem" and "not really his sister," so I'm not planning on watching that either. In my opinion, if you're going to insert something as dumb as het incest, at least make it actual incest!

As for Kinmoza... it's pretty debatable how yuri it is, but the subtext level is high enough for me to consider it yuri (On a side note, the Wikipedia page for Kinmoza lists its genre as "yuri" even though I've never seen any other site place it in the yuri genre... I wonder why). In terms of yuri bait, it's certainly in a different category from New Game... besides, Kinmoza combines my two favorite things: yuri and Britain (it's a shame they couldn't get actual British VAs who knew Japanese, that would have been amazing). How could I ever dislike it?

Edit: Another tidbit from the Kinmoza Wikipedia page: apparently, Karasuma is "kind of a lolicon for Alice" now? I know that Wikipedia isn't the most reliable place, but where the hell did this come from?

omg wtf is wrong with the artist ??? The senpai girl from chapter 08 boobs look creepy. the shape doesnt make sense and look ridiculous

The other characters with ridiculous boobs were all minor, so I could pretty much pretend they didn't exist... alas, this girl is actually kind of a major character, so it was more difficult to ignore her existence. Regardless, it was a funny chapter and the rest of the art's excellent so... oh well...
